I order these shirts for my dad. He loves them. He wore out the elbows on 2 of the 3. He lost one. My mom tried to patch them. They lasted another year. Time for new and these are the ones he likes!!

I am very pleased with the LLBean Chamois shirts in general. I wear them almost everyday in cold weather in Wisconsin. They fit well. They are long lasting and feel comfortable. The only problem I have experienced is buttons have loosened up and I had to do some sewing to tighten then up.

Good quality. The biggest problem is, the sizing is a mystery. Im 6-4 240lbs. I generally buy XL Long, depending on material. I was quite surprised with the sizing of your XL Tall. The body was a good 6 to 8longer than Im used to. The sleeves are a bit long and the body seems more like an. XXL. Its really big, but I decided to keep it as the colors are good. First time I wore it (tucked in), I got several nice comments.

i bought one of these in early 2021 and i have to admit the one i just received is NOT of the same quality of material as my prior purchase. it is way thinner. the color is really nice however. shrinkflation anyone?
contemplating on whether or not to return. one improvement would be to add side pockets.

I bought this shirt to use as a jacket when out walking. I am female, and it fits me like a tunic. My only concern is that the pockets are too small. I have a smaller iPhone, and the pocket does not button with my phone in the pocket. Other men's shirts have larger pockets. I was warm and cozy on my walk this morning, and I can pull the sleeves down to cover my hands, if needed.

The size is way off, I have not fit in a size LARGE since high school. But somehow LARGE is XL for this shirt. Definitely size down!

Great shirt as one would expect from LL Bean, but for some reason not true to size like their traditional fit has always been.

A nice shirt however, the material thickness isn't nearly as thick as the chamois shirts I purchased from LL Bean in the past and still own. This shirt's materiel thickness is comparable to the "regular" flannel shirts I regularly bought from LL Bean back in the 90's - 2000's, typical of most modern-day American retailers that charge more for less.

Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I was a long time dedicated LLBean customer. Their chamois shirts used to be great, but have really gone downhill in recent years (while the price has zoomed). I bought this because it was considerably cheaper on Zappos. The shirt is not worth the price LLBean charges on its own site.
PROS: Better color options for men, not just the usual winter drabs. Very brushed flannel, which is soft and warm. Generously sized in Regular Fit, and some colors/plaids come in Slim Fit. Talls are truly tall-size.
CONS: The last two flannels I bought from LLBean, a Scotch plaid and a chamois shirt, were huge. They shrink a full size when washed in cold water and dried on Delicate, so it worked out for me. From reviews on their site, this hugeness seemed to be on the larger sizes. The modern day LLBean flannels pill like crazy upon the first washing, and lose their shape. The collars and pocket flaps curl. They become very sloppy-looking. I only wear mine as a overshirt around the house, by myself, so I put up with it. Just warning you. I have old LLB flannels that still look neat, not pilled, no shrinkage after years of washings. And I still can't see through them. I could see through these modern chamois flannels after one year, and it's hardly brushed anymore. That means they aren't soft, and the fabric thins. I use a front loading washer, lowest setting; it's not getting beat up by a center agitator like my old ones did. Those old ones that didn't pill even washed in an old-style agitator washer.
Why do I still buy one every two years? Because they come in great colors and they're warmer than Carhartt's heavyweight flannel which is a heavier weight flannel per ounce, more densely woven but not brushed. Brushing adds warmth. The Carhartt is a much better shirt, quality wise, and holds its shape. I still give this shirt four stars because obviously I keep buying one every couple of years. But I do it grudgingly because I know what they used to be like.

The shirt is great - warm and comfortable. I only gave it 4 stars due to the fact that it shrunk after the first cold water wash.

Picks up pet hair like a magnet, even brushing won't remove. Continuous washing will wear out fabric faster. But I love the shirt!

The only reason not to give it a five star rating is the flaps over the pockets.

I love the thickness of this shirt and would like to buy another one but am still skeptical on the sizing. I originally purchased an XXL but was absolutely swimming in it. So I exchanged for an XL which is actually a bit snug. I have a Large from a few years ago that fits like this XL. I wear XXL in everything else from LL Bean including sweatshirts, fleece, and flannel jackets.

Runs very large. I always go through all reviews before ordering. There were lots of reviews and the size ordered was missing except for the few that included in the remarks. Always order size large in mens shirts. I ordered a large and need a medium in this shirt instead. Sold out now. **Size ordered info saves LLBean and customers the hassle of returning and the disappointment of not receiving the item one wants.***Reviews including size ordered and height and weight are invaluable to a happy outcome for all.

Nice quality in this shirt. My husband usually wears an XL Tall. That size was enormous on his 6 ft 2 in, 203 lbs frame. We ordered a Men's Large Regular. It fit better but sleeves are a tad short. This will be okay for chilly nights camping. Keeping for sure.
