I love that the shoes are light and have adequate cushioning. On my first hike wearing them they wore blisters on the insides of my heels. Gave my blisters a little time to heal and wore them again. Same problem. Not sure why. I sized up a half size when I bought them.

Shoe seems to be made of an impermeable Mylar material that doesn't breathe, and your feet feel like they are suffocating. There is a "V" shaped piece of material that connects 'tongue' of shoe to side/rear of shoe. As this portion has no elasticity - it doesn't expand. This piece of material should be removed from design of shoe; as it is useless. Rating of shoe: 2-3. Rating of Customer Service for return of shoe, and potential future purchases: 10+

For a hiking boot, I wish this had more ankle support. It gives you false confidence that you have ankle support but it's easy to roll and ankle because they don't go high enough or fit snug enough to give you true support. It's basically a heavy duty trail shoe, not a true boot though it looks like a boot. The waterproof quality is amazing. I have stepped in water covering most of my foot and my socks stayed bone dry. The fit was a bit small overall for a size 8 IMO. A bit shorter and more narrow than expected.

I love Hokas. Have 9 pairs of them but the reason why I buy them. Other than comfort is because you offer wide sizes. Otherwise I'd buy something else.

These boots are ridiculously hot. I thought Gortex would breathe; it doesn't. I ended up poking holes in them to get some air into the boot. The holes, unfortunately ruin their water resistance, but at least I can get some wear out of the boot when it's dry. I bought them in June, and wear them for about an hour and a half, three times a week, on a gravel, Colorado hiking trail. Today, I found a hole beginning to form in the fabric on the side of the boot. I love the style, the grippy Vibram sole, and the fact that they provide some ankle support and are still light weight, but the Gortex is horrible.

I was excited to receive these hiking boots. All I wear is Hoka. I'm so disappointed! The material on the toe plate is weird and looks like the material isn't tight enough. It's worse when I walk. You can see it bunch, and its the size of a straw. I don't see any other reviews about it, so maybe I'm just picky. But I don't like the looks of it. Will be returning.

I love the color and style of this hiking shoe! The sizing is not true, however. I usually wear an 8 in women's, but the shoe was too short, my big toe was touching the end of the shoe. I returned them and ordered a half size larger. The length is better, but the shoe is too big in the rest of the footbed. I already wore them outside, so I'll keep them at this point. They will work but feel a bit sloppy on my feet.

I'm a die-hard hoka fan when it come to trail runners so I thought these might be a great shoe for backpacking trips when I need more support. After taking these hiking, I'm returning them due to the lack of comfort. My toes felt cramped the whole hike - I'll go back to wearing my Stinsons while hiking from now on.

Great support. I wear these to work in the hospital and they do amazing but they started falling apart within a month. I kept them and it's been 8 months now and they literally have holes on the side. And the design is coming off. I'm one that will have shoes for years and they still look new so there is something wrong with how they are made. They are super comfortable so I will give them that. Please make the design better.

These boots look great but did not have the Hoka boot feel I was looking for. The toe box was narrower, and they felt too small even though I always wear a Hoka 7. There wasn't that special Hoka cushioning and comfort feel either when I tried them out, so they went back. At the same time, I ordered the Hoka Speed Goat Mid 5 GTX, and they fit perfectly! I had that Wow feeling when I put them on and walked across the room. But I sure liked the Trail Code's gray color with a touch of lilac. I don't know why Hoka doesn't give females more subdued color choices. For example, why do the men get the solid black and women have to choose between loud aqua, pink or other "girly" colors??

Unfortunately I had to return these boots. I love Hoka walking shoes but these boots cut into the protruding bone on the outside of both my ankles. No matter how I laced ( or unlaced) the upper part of the boot, it still rubbed on the skin in this area causing bloody sore areas. I continued to wear them thinking I just had to break them in. However after months of wearing them it did not get any better. I am thankful I could return without problem.

This shoe is not designed like other Hokas. The toe box is shallow and it narrows , which meant my orthotic doesn’t fit. I have a wide forefoot and normal to narrow ankle/heel area. Other Hokas work well for me.

I purchased a pair of the Hoka Sky Arkali over a year ago. Best shoe I have ever worn. The were comfortable from the second I put them on. I was devastated when I went to buy another pair and they are no longer made. I've tried 4 other pairs of Hokas trying to replace them. None of them were even close to the fit I got with Sky Arkali. I had hip replacement and the Sky Arkali saved me!! PLEASE make more!!! By far the best shoe you have made. I won't be purchasing anymore Hokas. Unless of course by chance the Sky Arkali come back. Thank you, Melissa

They're OK hiking boots but just not for me. I wear sz 10 in Brooks sneakers and these were also fine in a size 10, so no problem there. They felt a bit large in the heel. I could also use more support. They also felt clunky and kind of stiff...not something that I would want to wear on my foot all day long. In addition, there's a crease on the top part of the shoe where the laces start. The crease is visible without even trying them on, and it's also visible with the shoe on my foot. I think that would ultimately be a problem. Sorry! I don't like returning shoes to Zappos but no choice here. Zappos of course is the best.

The right shoe has a constant fart sound when you walk. I wanted o send them back day one. Instead they made to the back to my closet to find them a year later and used them for yard work since I can't wear them in public.

Size is just like all my Hoka trail running shoes. I got these for the winter but my ankles did not like the high top, they rubbed a bit and that is not going to work for me. Otherwise I would keep them.

I'm rescinding my previous review that I can't find. These shoes are horrendous on my feet. I wanted to love them. I thought they had stretched out enough for my bunions but they did not. I tried to go for a walk on them and had to turn around and come back home when my toes went numb and my legs started getting shooting pains up the sides. Never felt that before and don't ever want to feel that pain again. That was 24 hours ago and my feet and legs are STILL hurting. It's a shame too because I love hoka but I don't understand why they can't offer decent hiking boots that are waterproof or at the very least water resistant in pretty colors. But they don't, they offer 3 colors: dookie brown, dookie brown with a hint of purple or solid black but they're sold out of the solid black. Which who wants to wear those colors anyway?! I do not recommend these shoes and it makes me sad too.

When these shoes arrived they had obviously been worn before. They were fully laced, loose in a box, without any tags or packing. Looked like restocked shoes sold for full price. Waiting for a promised partial refund from Zappos now. Will remove this post when it comes through.

Hoka suggested I try a men's shoe since the woman's waterproof shoes do not come in wide. I tried 8.5 men's shoe and still too narrow. The Bondis with the extra room in toe box are what my bunions need. Alas they don't make a waterproof shoe with the extra toe room.

These boots are super cute, but after one wear three of the brackets fell off for the laces. Could be a fluke, but for the price shouldn't be happening. Also very hot and not as comfy as I thought.

Have had the shoes for 1 month, they have an issue with waterproofing, one turns dark gray while the other stays light gray and the water beads up. They also crease really bad. The chat person offered to do a warranty exchange, but that takes 2-3 weeks, I need them for a trip in 7 weeks, and need to break them in. When asked why I couldn't just do a simple exchange, I was pretty much blown off and he refused to entertain me getting a reasonable accommodation, so even though I am within my 30/60 day return period, they have to do a warranty thing, which means I wait 2-3 weeks...
