I really wanted to keep these shoes! They were comfortable but the quality is poor for the price! There is a wrinkle/indentation in the material circling the top of the shoe by the toe end. There is some fraying on the piping near where the shoelaces begin.
I can’t justify the price with the quality of the workmanship. I will be returning them.

Fits as expected. I am not impressed with the shoe. The cushion is average. Have not found that one his shoe is any better than others I have tried with a similar/lower price point.

I have narrow heel and the heel was too big. Kept on stepping out of shoe. Rest of shoe fit perfect.

Sloppy fit. Too wide in the forefoot. Horrible tongue. Color was garish. There was nothing I lok d about this shoe. I have tried on Speedgoats before and just am not a fan.
I'd also recommend:
I currently have Hoka Torrent 2 and the new and improved Torrent 4

I previously bought my first pair of Hokas on clearance at Nordstroms. I was delighted how they made my feet feel and the appearance. I decided to invest in a second pair d/t I had worn out my first (approx. 8mos). I ordered directly from Hoka website.
I received shoes ordered, they were bulky and appeared to be very long (double my shoe size). There was not a lot of choices in regard to style/color. I want to send them back, but too much of a hassle. My next pair, if purchased will never be online, it will be in person d/t there is a big difference in what you see vs what you get.

I've been trail running for a few months so I thought I would buy a nice pair of shoes that would supposedly improve my runs even more. These did not deliver. These are the same, maybe even less stable, as my Ryka jog ons I used when I started out. You can catch those on sale often but even their regular price is a fraction of these. This was my first and last pair of hoka's

I'm so tired of buying cheaply made Hoka's. This is my 5th pair in 8 months! The bottoms wears out SO fast and heel area collapses causing arch pain. On this newly purchased pair of Speedgoat 5's, the rubber sole is peeling away on the bottom after the 4th time to wear them!

I wanted to love these but it's a no for me.
I took these out on an 11 mile trail run and they were grippy and comfy except the tongue.
There is no cushion on the tongue and I use the heel lock lacing when running and all I could feel was my laces digging in to the top of my foot.
I'm still a Hoka fan for life - but the Speedgoats were NOT for me because of the thin tongue.
The return policy is GREAT and I was able to return these and get my Stinsons that I know and LOVE.

they are very low on the ankles which doesn't help if you have ankle issues like me. Also made my foot hurt.

Extended tongue puts seam at toe for discomfort and likely quick wear out. Upper Materials keep getting cheaper, cmon hoka. Is a light n good traction shoe.

I'm not sure why people love these shoes, it's like wearing a soft nerf sole. It's so soft that it offers no support. Rather than provide comfy cushioning, it allows your foot to wallow on the shoe which can lead to injury. In fact, I had to stop wearing them at all because my back started to hurt and the tendons in my feet started to feel tense. I don't recommend this much squish in a shoe, especially a performance shoe! It's a shame because I really wanted to love them. Oh well.

I was so disappointed that this shoe did not work for me. I loved the color. I felt like I was going to fall forward when I walked around inside. I kept the shoes trying to make them work but just didn't work out for me.

I have several pairs of the Arahi 6 and wanted to try this model since it was on sale but they did not fit as well nor are they as supportive as the A6. Even with the addition of a cushioned insert, this pair was still uncomfortable. Bought my regular size and the back slightly slips upward when walking. Would not recommend.

The toe box is narrow and tapered. This causes the outer 2-3 toes to rub and protrude. The length fits otherwise. I shouldn't have to size up just to accommodate the shorter toes if the length fits for the full foot. I'm not sure why when most brands are moving towards foot-shaped shoes, hoka is sticking with narrow tapered toe box. I don't have a wide foot, so the wides are too wide throughout. I just need a rounded foot shaped toe box to actually fit toes.
Also, there's no rock plate.

I ordered these shoes based on my other Hokas. They hurt!
The length is fine, the width ok, but the top of shoe is made funny.
My other Hokas are the same size. I’m on my 2nd pair of orthodontic insoles.
These fit nothing like my other pair. The toe tapers. I have extremely arthritic feet. My toes are scrunched.
I'd also recommend:
Hoka!

At first I thought the shoes were just too big but when I put them both on, the left one fit snug like a new shoe and the right one was stretched out so badly it flopped up and down when I walked. Also besides that neither of them gave me the overall shoe support I need. Sending back.

I happily bought the SG 5 in Wide on sale but unfortunately this shoe is significantly tighter in the toebox than the SG 4 and while my heel slips out the back of the shoe. I buy Hokas because I have a very wide forefoot. I hope the SG 6 will be more similar to the SG 4 version with a wider toebox and a better fitting heel. I love the grip of the SG's and the Vibram sole. The SG4 was a great fit for my small, wide feet. I hope to find another Hoka to take its place.

I purchased the speedgoat 5 sneakers because of the vibrant colors displayed in the online pic. When I got the shoes, the colors are actually dull and look nothing like the online picture.
I wish I could upload a pic of the shoe I received for comparison.

I was hoping for a more cushion-y shoe to rotate with altra lone peaks when hiking. But alas I love the fit & wide toe box of Altras & my foot felt scrunched in these. Sending back. Thanks Zappos for making it easy!

There is too much rubber on the bottom. I kept them but do not wear them often. I do not like the kind of earth shoe feel of them.

I ordered them thinking there would be some arch support since I have fairly high arches. Not the case. Moreover, they felt so weird on my heels that I kept on feeling like I was falling backwards just standing in these sneakers. I don't even have a balance problem nor do I have heel problems. I suspect they would be more ideal for people with flat feet. Returning them. The style was gorgeous, though.
