I’m really vain and hate wearing ugly orthotic shoes! I also have arthritis in my knees and need double knee replacement surgeries. Lately, just making it through a grocery store is really hard. I wear shoes with good cushioning (Taos, Skye, Merrell) but they don’t seem to really help so I can walk a greater distance. I finally tried Hokas and jumped in with this pair, Solimar. At first I thought they were really cushy and great, but after wearing them for a week, it’s almost like they broke in a little and now I feel like I have clouds on my feet! I went to a greenhouse to buy garden plants and walked all over the entire property and still felt great! I have never had a shoe actually improve my knee pain and stride. I am absolutely sold on this brand. I bought the color Illusion/Ether and it’s got a very subtle diagonal stripe pattern to the fabric upper. The soles are a pastel periwinkle color while the body of the shoe is light sky blue with periwinkle accents. They’re really pretty! As far as fit, I measure out as a 9.5 slightly wide. I bought a 10 and it’s quite adequate, but I may try a 10.5 next time for a little more length and see if I prefer that. If I wear a thick sock it feels mildly tight, a thin sock feels better. Width is fine, and the fabric upper is very cooling, I can feel cool air blowing through it. This is a beautiful athletic shoe and I am heads and tails more comfortable in it than anything else I own.

They are comfortable, classy and clean up so nicely. Insert doesn’t wash well so consider removing it before washing.

The size was fine. I originally purchased the 9 and it was too large. That's usually my size, but in Hoka I'm a half size smaller. This isn't unusual. Every brand's sizing is different. The 8-1/2 was perfect and I love them. Great support and they look great, I would recommend them.

The Solimar runs narrow which is good for my narrow flat feet.

In love with these shoes! They are my new favorite Hoka style, and I think I prefer them to my Cliftons because they feel more supportive and comfortable.
