I have big toe arthritis and these hiking boots a lifesaver! I love to hike and do long distances. These Boots hold up very well. They are wider which is great if you wear moreno wool socks. The waterproof capabilities are amazing- I was in ankle deep water, and my socks were perfectly dry. I highly recommend these..worth the price!

This boot is so much more comfortable than my older Anacapa Mid, and the purple is stunning. My other pair of Kaha 2 in light gray also comfy but after just a few months has lost its water repelancy.

I use these out in the yard, field, and hiking. I thought they would have more cushion. I do like how stable they feel.

My favorite thing is that due to the toe box and the plushy insole, my big feet fit into these boots. They are wonderful to wear. My only complaint is that the 54 inch laces are a bit short for a size 11 boot. Please make more larger sized boots and shoes for us big footed folks with narrow feet (unlike the unisex sizes).

Tongue was too short--very uncomfortable. First boot I've ever had to return because it hurt my foot out of the box. Hoka may be sliding.

I desperately wanted to fall in love with this boot but I'm afraid that I just can't say that I have. The toe area is too narrow and the left boot causes excruciating pain under my arch and behind my big toe. Just on one boot which is very odd. I distance walk and I just feel so much pain almost right at the beginning of my 10 mile walk. At the end of the walk, I need at least two days to recover enough to do anymore walking.

I need the wide toe box of the Bondi 8 (or the older versions of the other models built wide in front), then this isn't for you. It has a more narrow toe box and I found the cushioning only okay. The tread and grip of the shoes in slippery conditions was good. It's a good looking shoe/boot imo. But I wasn't able to wear them; very uncomfortable.

Doing a walking fundraiser, 62 miles in January. Besides being cold, Vermont roads and trails can be frozen, icy and snow covered one day, and wet and muddy the next. I'm 39 miles in so far and these boots have been perfect! My feet have stayed warm and dry, the traction is excellent, AND the cushioning has been kind to my 70 year old knees!

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

Poor SupportGreat Support
The fit for these Hoka boots was the same as for the shoe, allowing for less flexibility because of the different material and the ankle lacings. They are a lot heavier than the shoes, of course. A nice arch support, and they looked well made. The tread is exceptional, with deep ridges and gripping bumps on the ridges. Lacing should allow adjustable support, enough to be quite secure. I was hoping to use them for cold wet weather on sidewalks, but the lack of flexibility here made them less comfortable. This does not have an open fabric on the shoe part, so they should be reasonably warm and dry, but not water proof. In the end, the lack of flexibility and heavier weight made me return them. They would only have been worth the high price tag if I would be wearing them comfortably all day. They do not slip on and off at all, and switching back and forth for indoor shoes was too difficult for every time I would go out.

Great fit. excellent cushioning. Easy on easy off.
One drawback: the ties need to be a bit longer

I ONLY wear Hoka shoes and this latest purchase was my first time purchasing their hiking/work boot. I have severely flat feet and custom orthotics, and HOKA shoes have consistently been the absolute best for my very troubled feet. My orthopedic surgeon gave me several options to try on recommended shoes out there, and these by far were the best. My job requires lots of standing and my feet need a shoe with durability, comfort, to be waterproof, but still look good! I love my purchase!

Bought these boots in the fall fell in love very comfortable love them. Went to uk for Christmas boots leaked wet feet not happy. Came back to canada went to walk this morning my feet were frozen in short space of time. I am going to let them dry out and then try a waterproofing spray for boots. It is not ok to sell a boot as waterproof when it is not waterproof and when feet freeze as soon as they leak really disappointed. With frozen feet sad buyer

These were my favorite, go-to hiking boots for years. The new design is terrible! Feel nothing like the previous models. Very stiff, too tight. Hurt both feet immediately. Will be sending them back. Don't know what to get now

It takes a little getting used to considering I feel I am 2 inches taller. Driving is different since I can't "feel" the pedal, so that was some getting used to but walking around in the snow and rain, it was amazing my feet never got wet nor cold. Walking on ice was pretty good; so I am impressed so far with these Kara's.

I've done some extensive research before choosing Hoka hikers. In my opinion, they are excellent for long day hikes due to their cushioning, providing a level of comfort akin to walking on a plush carpet. The exceptional grip gave me the confidence to navigate steep descents with ease. I put these shoes to the test while hiking in the Canadian Rockies during the fall. However, a significant drawback is their design, which makes them prone to tearing, even from small rocks. It's puzzling that a shoe primarily designed for hiking wouldn't account for the rugged terrain. Unfortunately, after just one hike, the outer part of one shoe exhibited damage, resembling a punctured eraser. Another issue I encountered was blisters, although it didn't bother me much. Overall, I would rate these shoes 5 stars for their exceptional comfort during long hikes and impressive grip. However, their design falls short, earning a big no from me.

I wore these for the first time on a challenging 10-miler and they were great. But I did have a concern that I wonder if anyone else shares. I wore gaiters which have an elastic strap that goes under the boot and fits snugly in the trough. However, I tripped twice because one shoe caught the gaiter strap of the other shoe. I checked to see and all lace hooks were under the gaiter, so it wasn't the hooks. Perhaps it caught on the edge of the sole or even the lace hole that is right below the lowest hook? Anyone else have that experience? Any thoughts or suggestions? Kinda scary until I can figure out what caused it. Otherwise, the boot is exactly what I am looking for. I would have recommended them but I can't until I get some answers on this.

This is my 2nd pair of Hokas and I really do like these shoes. I was reserving my thoughts for after I'd had them for at least a month but since I was prompted I will go ahead.
These shoes are heavy as stated by some others but actually very comfy. Though they are advertised as such, they're not as plush as I was hoping like the Bondi 8s that I have. They were a perfect fit right out of the box. I'm still not 100% sure that they are waterproof though. That's why I was waiting. My feet did seem to get wet a few times while it was raining but I'm starting to think that was just foot sweat. Lol these don't breathe very well but of course they shouldn't when you're drying to keep feet dry. That's why I use foot powder.
Another thing that concerns me is the potential to slip. I've noticed that these shoes aren't as slip resistant as they should be for the type of shoe. I've had times where I came in from the rain and my feet would slide. That's not good. I still have some time before the return window closes so I will keep assessing them for effectiveness as the weather changes in Virginia and I go out for walks more.

I was thrilled to find a hiking boot with flex in the sole and stabilization in the ankle, both of which I cannot walk without. HOKA made it a simple pleasure to conduct business together, and I shall be back! I exchanged my 10.5 for a half size up, and obtained my perfect fit.

I had a torn meniscus surgery last year. Both of my knees were still hurting while hiking in different high end hiking boots. First time out on the trails I felt like myself again in my new HOKA Kaha 2 GTX hiking boots . I had purchased the Bondi 8 shoes earlier this summer and fell in love with how great they made my joints feel. Thank you HOKA for keeping me out on the trails!

I got these boots a week ago. I wore them around the house in the morning. The next day I walked the dog in them. About three miles. I then hiked Mt Moosilaukee on Friday. A 4000 footer in the White Mountains. They felt great. Great support and traction. I was very pleased especially because I was hiking in them right out of the box. Monday night I walked the dog in them about two miles in the rain and my feet were soaking wett when I got home. They are not waterproof. The description on the website says they are waterproof. am very disappointed.
