This is a well structured shoe but this particular version has some defects with the heel collar breaking down with the foam coming out. Also, the shoe strings are so slippery that you have to triple tie to make sure they don't untie when running. And PLEASE don't charge me $10 for shipping because it's on sale!!!!

This is my 6th pair of Hokas. I walk 50+ miles a week and replace them at about 1000 miles. My last pair (Bondi 8) were a little bouncier, although they looked like orthopedic clown shoes. The Gaviota 4 is nice, not quite as cushy, but they look better on my feet. I'll keep the Gaviotas to 1000 miles, but I think I'll go back to Bondi 8's for my next pair. My treadmill is in my basement, no one sees me anyway :-D

I use these shoes for walking. Am pleased with the stability feature as my balance can be off. Love that they are light weight so traveling with them in my luggage will be easy. My only issue is the arch placement. I have a high arch and a narrow heel so my foot and the shoe arch placement are a little off. The next size up shoe would definitely be too large so I'm trying a heel incert.

I really love how squishy the soles are and the bounce from the amount of foam under your feet definitely surpasses my 17 year loyalty to Asics. That part is super great, the material is so soft and I love the fit of the tongue and how its sewed in on one side. I have wide feet across where the ball of my foot is and love how the shoe doesn't squish my toes together. However I will say they are too narrow on the sides of my heels and have created blisters from rubbing on the inside of my heel which has not been great. I dont think I could size up because the front or top half of the shoe would be far too big and might go back to asics for that reason but the quality and comfort of the shoe otherwise is 11/10

I love the fit and comfort of this shoe, I can go on long walks and my feet don't hurt anymore! I own 3 pairs of gaviota shoes now, my only complaint is that the fabric right above my toe is too thing, I see the fabric already ripping and my big toe coming out. So disappointing because I love the comfort of the shoe so much but now all 3 pairs I own now have the fabric ripping. I would like to know if you would consider making that section of the shoe more durable.

I love your superior product and wish I could wear them everyday. I work in an office and have to dress business casual. I have no more knee pain and feel better since I bought your shoes. Thank you from a very satisfied customer.

great stability and balance and used for everyday walking

This is hard. The Bondi 8 gives my feet a better "grip" in the fit of the shoemore stability. This shoe fits just a touch better but doesn't have the same firmness I think I need. However, the Gaviota feels amazing when walking on tough surfaces like rocks. Either shoe for walking and light hiking will be awesome.

I purchased the HOKA Gaviota 4. I have a chronic hip injury and my podiatrist recommended them. These sneakers are by far the best sneakers I have ever worn - Lightweight, excellent lateral support, easy to slip on. My only qualm is the color. I like to wear neutral colors - beige, camel brown, grey, ivory and the women's HOKA's only come in loud bright colors. Perhaps a neutral beige/sand color or grey/ slate would be nice for the next collection.

I am a waitress and am on my feet for sometimes 8 hours at a crack. Very cushion like when walking.

They're not bad but definitely won't buy them again

It is more comfortable and tow and heel but not as soft as it should. Still a hard shoe no plush.

Really like this shoe. They don't last as long as other shoes, however, those other shoes aren't as comfortable. Think it's worth it for proper protection for running. If shoes lasted longer, would give 5 stars.

Heels are great but need more cushion on front.

The only reason for the 4 is that they are slightly less bouncy and soft than my previous pair. But they are great shoes!

It is taking a while to get used to it. I wish this brand would make a slip on shoe

I use this specific pair for morning hike/outdoor daily walks only. The shoes make a weird noise but they are extremely comfortable and are holding up great on the rough terrain.
