Bummer..I have worn several versions of the speedgoat, the EVO was the best, the new one I can't wear. first it bruised the top of me foot becasue the tongue is positioned differently..toe box is snugger and the whole shoe is tighter..sent back..so disappointed becasue these were my go-to shoes for everything trail, race to training...gotta look for something new

This shoe disappoints. After enjoying the Speedgoat 4, I found the descendant Speedgoat 5 less comfortable. It is not as well cushioned or as stable. The difference in the tongue is not an improvement.

I originally bought the Speedgoat 5, 12 2E, this is the size of the Speedgoat 4 that fit me . I had to go up to 12.5 2E to get the same width fit. As a result they are a little bigger than I like. I find they do not hold my heel down quite as securely with that heel lip that hangs out the back. The Speedgoat 4 didn't have the lip and I think held the heel better. As a result I like the Speedgoat 4 better but not many of those are available. Nonetheless I am keeping the 5's and think they will work fine for me. Not sure what I will do for my next pair of running shoes though.

Husband loves HOKA shoes. He works in a hospital and walks over 12 miles each shift. These are very comfortable for him and he loves the vibrant colors.

Still comfy but I DO NOT like the redesign of the Speed Goat. It's not quite as comfortable and feels MUCH FLIMSIER and my biggest issue with Hokas is I burn through them in just six months due to weak build.

Love these shoes. I felt like I floated through the hike. The only thing I wish is better color options in wide.

Hoka shoes are very reliable. Stiffer and more nimble than previous versions. Feels like a much faster shoe versus other versions feels more like a long distance shoe.

Good for climbing. Good grip. Upper way too hot, feels hotter than goretex. All my socks felt too slippery on the insole. Had to tighten the laces too much so that the shoe wasn't laterally sloppy on technical trails. Gave me shin splints on descents.

The shoes fit well and are comfortable. Even on longer runs (6-8 miles) I feel like they are good for sure. I'm slightly bigger than most (6'3" 230lbs) and I feel like my knees and body feel good in them.
The only "issue" I have is that the spring in them per step is not as solid as my Clifton that are a few years old. Perhaps that's because I am doing more road running than trail. But the traction is next level!

I'm a nurse who spends countless hours on my feet! HOKAS are by far the most comfortable shoes I own. My husband also got a pair and is also hooked on these shoes!

SpeedGoat 4 felt much better on my feet. I ordered the same size but the Speedgoat 5 was to small. My toes were constantly hitting the end during down hills hikes.

I bought the Speedgoat a couple years ago and found them to be incredibly stiff and heavy. This version of the Speedgoat is the complete opposite in my opinion. Lightweight, cloudlike feel on my feet! And the best part is, they come in wide sizes. Thank you Hoka! Will definitely be buying another pair.

I use these for my daily walks. They are very comfortable. I had to return the first pair and order the wide width because they were too narrow for me. The wide shoes fit good.

This is my 4th pair of Speedgoat trail shoes. This new pair is comfortable and has great traction. I run on a lot of rocky and loose terrain and this is the best pair of trail shoes that I have owned.

I love the Speedgoats and have owned several editions, including two pairs of the newest version. This new version is a bit more nimble but still has plenty of cushion. Great traction and durability. My feet were fine throughout a very technical and somewhat wet 100 mile run - no blisters or heat spots. My only suggestion would be for a bit more toe protection up front.

Purchased the wide shoes and they are so comfortable. I use the for weight training a well as for trail walking/jogging. It has a very soft heel strike. The Achilles pain I had upon descents has disappeared since I have been using these shoes.

I love to hike. I have the Bondi 8 in xwide they are the most comfortable shoes ! Hoping for a more rugged trail shoe I ordered the speedgoat 5 in wide however they were not wide enough. Please make a hiker in extra wide.

Hoka has an awesome return policy, so you've got nothing to loose in giving them a try. That's what initially sold me on these. It's hard to know how I'll like a shoe until I go out and run for a while. Hoka let's me do that!
I was worried the toe box would be too narrow, but the upper has a lot of stretch, so it works for me. I prefer a really wide toe box for everyday shoes, but these keep my feet quite happy while running, so I can't complain. I find them extremely comfortable to run in.
If I'm being picky, the soft upper fabric is starting to get a little fuzzy and distressed because one place I run has extremely abrasive bushes that grab and abraid the fabric. As far as I can tell the damage is mainly cosmetic so far, but it's something to think about. If you run through a lot of dense, abrasive foliage, the fabric upper is likely to show it. As I am not trying to win beauty contests with these shoes on, I will personally take the trade-off of comfort over abrasion resistance.
