The Speedgoat 4 was my favorite trail shoe and the Speedgoat 5 is even better. You can't beat the Vibram soles, after 78 miles, my current pair has almost no signs of wear. What I appreciate most is that the shoe feels lighter. It doesn't have that clunky feel that most trail shoes do. Because the Speedgoat 4s had a harder material above the sole, they would occassionally pinch my foot at the forefoot crease. That problem was eliminated with the updated Speedgoat 5s softer material. Pros: 1. Lighter than other trail shoes 2. Grip. Feels great in mud and on steep terrain. I haven't had any issues on slick rock either. 3. Great cushioning. If you are training for an ultra these shoes will do great. They have made a huge difference in my footpain, allowing me to train for longer runs and push for farther distances. Cons: 1. The regular Speedgoat 5 is not waterproof. This is good and bad. after running in a puddle my socks get wet which I can deal with. On the other hand, after crossing a creek, they let the water drain out. I haven't tried the GTX version but my understanding is that it repels water better. Overall I do recommend the Speedgoat to all trail runners. There is no better cushioning out there that I know of and they've performed well for the the Ultramarathons that I've used them in.

Comfortable and great fit.

I started wearing Hokas on the advice of my podiatrist. I am a former runner/jogger but now just walk a lot. Chat I needed a shoe that had a very stiff sole, but was cushy and comfortable. I have had several pair of the speed goat 4&5, and I love them. I love the fact that they are very grippy, so that when I am going down muddy or rocky paths, I don't feel in any danger of slipping. These are the best. I am slowly accumulating an array in different pretty colors. I like my shoes wide, so recently started wearing a men's regular size, which works great.

My son is hiking the Appalachian Trail. When he tells me he needs shoes, of course I send them immediately. When Hoka has the estimated arrival on Friday.... And then after I order them, I find out it's Tuesday of next week. That's not acceptable. He will be much past that point at that time. But the shoes are great.

I am very happy with my new speed goats, use them to walk both on concrete and dirt, super comfortable!

Started hiking more and my wife and me love these shoes.

extreme comfort, actually feel it corrected some hip discomfort

Great on my body to have this level of comfort. Soles will run out in less than a year for regular runners

Perfect fit and the most comfortable shoes I have had. I will be buying them again when this wear out.

These shoes have great cushion. They are very comfortable and so light. Great for trails.

So far I like everything about it. It is hard to find 2E In a hiking shoe. They are so comfortable.

Love wearing to gym and walking

Nice and grippy on rocks and roots with plenty of cushion to take the sting out of steep downhills.

Excellent for trail, light, extreme grip, comfortable, real easy on the joints.

I own about 12 pairs of Hokas - everything from running shoes to trail shoes to recovery flip flops. They have all been a perfect fit!

Great trail running shoe for the Wasatch mountains.

This is my 5th pair of speedgoats, and 3rd speedgoat 5. Love them. Fit great, easy break-in, and just awesome for short joints or epic long miles. They also hold up incredibly well.

Hands down the best shoe purchased in years! It feels like walking on a cloud yet has the perfect amount of support and stability. Just AMAZING!

I used to own Merrill trail runners and just switched to Hoka. The cushioning is so much better and the shoes are so light. This will be my go to shoe from now on.

The ones I bought fit my wide feet. And didn't hurt after wearing them all day. Perfect balance of traction and cushion.
