Shoes are comfortable. I had the Arahi 5s before this and I think those were wider than the Gaviota. That being said, I wish you offered the same colorways in Wides that you do in Normal widths. I really wanted the multi-colored carbon shoes and now I have to settle for black. Way to shame those of us with wide feet.

These are my third pair of HOKAs so I am a loyal customer. I have two negative comments, however. 1. Unlike the laces on my old pair of Bondis, the laces on my new Gaviotas will not stay tied unless I double knot. Don't think this should be. 2. You need to have better product differentiation. Your website needs to do a better job of differentiating between shoe models. I am a fast walker and it is not clear if Gaviotas or Bondis would be most suitable for me. When I go through your screening process, I could have either model recommended to me. And when I choose plush, either model could be recommended.

Products arrived consistent with my prior experience. High quality shoe for those with metatarsalgia.

These sneakers are comfortable. The only thing I do not like is that the laces don't stay tight enough.

I am in the healthcare field and am on my feet constantly. Hoka is the ONLY brand of shoe I will wear. The Gaviota's are stylish and give great support. I think my Bondi 8's have more cushion but I recommend Gaviota as a good alternative.

Nice fit - Feels good - But they are not a good looking shoe and this was the best of the bunch - So I have to decide Looks over comfort....

These shoes seem very comfortable and I like how thick the soles are on the shoe. The only thing that I have a small issue with is that the sides seem a little hard & hurt the side of my feet by the end of the day after being on concrete floors all day. Might get better the more broke in they get, but overall, they seem to be a really good pair of shoes.

Walk 12 hours and this shoe helps. I would buy half size bigger next time as it seems smaller then actual size.

I have extremely flat feet, no arch at all, and I am on the heavy side (I'm working on it!). I am having the most comfortable runs I have had in a while in the Gaviota 4. I have knee issues, so I don't know how these will work for me long-term, but so far so good after a couple of weeks. Note: they run very narrow, and will be uncomfortable for a lot of flat-footed runners. I bought the wide, and the soles of my feet still push out over the edge, which digs into my arch (or where my arch should be). I was able to use orthotics to smooth it out and make it tolerable. Normally, I would not have given a shoe this narrow a chance, but they looked and felt very supportive, and so far my gamble has paid off. If you have a wide foot with an arch, this might not affect you.

My previous Hoka 3 was much better comfort than Gaviota 4, I like 3 better than 4.

I walk 1 mile every morning. These things are stable and comfortable. I use PowerStep OTC inserts though because the ones that come in the Gaviotas are no good like every other shoe company.

Walking and running is OK but could be better - but my HOKA Men's Gaviota 2E Wide is still not comfortable. I have Bindi 8 2E wide & my Arahi 6 2E fit perfect and are very comfortable but my Gaviota 2E Wide doesn''t feel comfortable at all. I don't understand this - if two of my Hoka shoes feels great and one of them dont (BOTH BEING THE EXACT SIZE) - what's wrong I don't understand why this is happenning I just got these shoes just about a month ago.

I have owned a pair of these hoka's for almost 5 months. My biggest complaint is about 2-3 months into wearing the shoes for my commute the glue was separating in places. Regardless the comfort was great. Perfect recommendation for long commuting and comfort. Also if you have Plantar fasciitis it's a great shoe for comfort.

the foot bed for the right foot did not seem to be the same as the foot bed for the left. Not sure if it was due to manufacturing or my foot. Otherwise, it felt too cushony for my liking.
I'd also recommend:
I'm trying real hard to find some HOKA's that are supportive but not to much cushon.

I bought this as a recovery run/walking accompaniment to my Arahis. I run about 25 miles +/- a week and walk a dog another 15+ miles a week, so I wanted a show that would extend the life of my Arahis. The shoe is comfortable and very stable, very firm actually, more so then the Arahi. It is too heavy really to run in on anything more than jog, IMO, and it lacks the road responsiveness of the Arahi. I actually don't even jog in them as a result. I definitely am glad I bought them as they do help me recover from the runs better than my non Hoka sneakers, but...

Love the gaviota, but the new version doesn't have all black in a wide size. I can only wear all black and I can only wear wide, so I am disappointed

I tried the Gaviota 4 based on recommendations of other people I met while I trips and consistently see people wearing Hokas - so I moved from the New Balance 847 which I love because of the fit, but the cushion isn't a good as I like. Unfortunately, the Hoka Gaviota 4 is basically the opposite - great arch and cushioning, but it is significantly tighter on my 8.5 EE wide compared to any other shoe I've ever tried. I think the shoe is at least half a size too small and needs more width on the sides.
