I've done a few speed runs, a half marathon, and I plan on racing a full marathon in them soon. Overall the shoe is great. It's fast off the toe, provides good support, and is overall comfortable. My chief complaint is that the my heel doesn't feel secure in the shoes. My foot doesn't feel like it's going to fall out but there is some slight movement and no real heel lock hole for the laces. Make sure to wear a quality sock to avoid any issues from rubbing.
For the price, it's a great and affordable supershoe.

At the recommendation of my Podiatric Surgeon I bought these shoes. They are honestly the best show I think I've ever had on my feet. (also the most expensive I've ever worn) Very comfortable and really help with my foot pain.
Size was just what I expected and the width was perfect.
I have two complaints. The first is color choices. All these fancy colors really look great but because of my medical issues I need to be able to wear these shoes all the time. Work or play, church or business meetings. Can we just get a plain black or white shoe? Heck, I'll even settle for gray or just about any type of darker, way less flashy color. I just don't like the lack of color choices and honestly I don't need all that.
Second is the way these shoes "lace up". Basically they don't. The laces are over some sort of elastic type material so they're almost like a slip on except they are very very difficult to get on. I'm not even sure if I was still running that this would be how I would want my shoe to stay on. It's incredibly inconvenient and some days I don't wear them because I just don't feel like wrestling them to get them on my feet. By the next day, however, I'm very motivated to get back in them due to the foot pain.
So, can we get these in a style that's easier to get on and can we please have them in some basic colors? Black, white, brown, gray?

Although I had surgery, I still suffer with my right foot. I am starting to run again wearing my new Hoka, and so far so good.

The shoe is great in all respects but the recommend eize is off.
It feels good and snug around yiur ankles, the sole is cushioned but firm at the same time. The heels really help with ny stride.
Just wish I had ordered 1/2 size smaller, the website recommendation didn't work for me
In the future I will buy again and correct the size.

Lack of an independent tongue makes it difficult to get on.

Lacks the forward propulsion of the original. Fits wider and loser for a more comfortable fit and provides space for foot expansion in longer runs. This in turn does allow the foot to slide inside the show when crossing rugged terrain. Would love a EE width. Since just D is available I have to use a size 12 instead of my usual 11.5. Since the shoe is slightly longer than I'm used to, I sometimes trip or stub my toe. I, therefore, run more deliberately and land more toward the heel instead of the usual mid foot.

The shoes that I purchased based on your size match recommendations (Sketchers size11wide) were way to narrow. The return process went very smoothly, hence the 4 stars. Would order another pair but apparently you and all of your retailers are out of all wide shoes.

Super light, comfortable but a little too soft. Great for walking but not for golf.

Loving them so far but a few thoughtsI don't remember the carbon X 2's taking more than 50 miles to break in. These have softened up a bit but not as much bounce as I was hoping for. Also, size down a half size from the Carbon X 2's (I wore a 10.5 and need a 10 in the X 3's).

I share the concern that for normal size feet the lack of a tongue prevents effective lacing and creates wrinkles that bunch up perpendicular to the laces. I basically stopped running in them, although the ease of entry made them a straightforward weekend shoe, even without socks.
However; I subsequently injured my ankle and started running with orthotics - the added volume of the orthotic made the lacing go away as it stretched the material on top of the shoe. Something to consider, although this shoe style isnt really one i would seek out to wear with an orthotic.
I would also say that the uppers are pretty warm; it's fairly dry here but temps in 85+ started to become uncomfortable as the shoes dont breathe well.

So comfortable but runs really big. I love the shoes but the size difference makes it uncomfortable to wear.

Very comfortable, light,
Most notably issue is the ease of running downhill, really takes the pounding out of downhill running.
Don't really like the color scheme though

Great show, my 4th pair of Hokas, but they are slick, little to no tread. They literally slide on the treadmill.

I love my new Hokas. They are very comfortable just like my last two pairs. I have noticed unfortunately that after 20 days of running the soles already are showing more wear than I would expect. Hopefully that doesn't become an issue.

I have been a avid Hoka fan for more than 10 years. I am a slender triathlete and have ordered the same size shoe from Hoka during this time frame. I wear a standard 14 size shoe across all Hoka offerings. When I ordered the Carbon X 3, I ordered a 14. When I received it, I put it on and it seemed like a size 15 in the wrong box. There was a good 1" of room in the front of the shoe and was nowhere near a good fit.
I did an easy return/exchange with Hoka and received a size 13 within days. Upon putting them on and walking around they seemed a bit short in the toe box. I did try a few runs in them on the treadmill at the gym and they felt awesome. The carbon plate really gave that added push and found them really comfortable with the exception of the toe rub.
Given the elastic around the upper, you don't really even need the laces on the shoe to keep them. If used in a triathlon, they would be great to slip on during transition without needed speed laces.....which was a great design. This was only the 2nd time I will be sending back a Hoka shoe and the 1st time I will be sending one back due to the fit.
This would of been an AWESOME racing shoe if it would of fit better. I am hoping that when the next version comes out next year, Hoka will make them a bit more true to size as in the past......minus that...they seemed like a great shoe that would be great for racing!

As I run without socks, always is very relevant to fit to my bare feet. On the top of the foot, feels a little scratchy, not as smooth as other shoes do. Would be great if an improvement can be made to that section, as the rest is 100% perfect.. Thanks for asking...

Work shoes. But why I would not give it five. You need to improve
The laces, & the sock style don't like to much, but still a great shoe

I run everyday of the week and so far this shoe has felt great! The knit upper is very comfortable and breathable, even though some people say it doesn't fit their foot very well, it fits my feet perfect.
The carbon plate makes for a snappy responsive feel while running. The only downside to this shoe is that I would like there to be a little bit more padding. But other than that this shoe is great. I recommend this shoe for all types of runner, if your a sprinter or long distance this shoe is great!!!
