Fantastic rain shell that gets better every time I wear it - whenever I'm in weather with this jacket I realize how effectively designed and crafted it is. I sized up to 3XL for layering for winter trips and it's been totally bomb proof for high output river restoration work, stationary moments in wind and rain, and tossing on whenever a squall rolls through. Great hip pockets with lots of room, breathes perfectly, and the hood and extended zip up neck keep out the elements. Stoked on my purchase after six months of ownership - confident this will stand the test of time.

Went for an overnight backcountry hike when it wasn't supposed to rain and i woke up in a downpour. This jacket is awesome, it fits me very well, its breathable and waterproof. I had read several reviews prior to buying it and the only drawback was that it was expensive, however, it is well worth the price I paid for it. I highly recommend it.

I took this skiing on Mt. Bachelor. Great for warm spring skiing weather . Light, breathable, and easy to pack . The color is true to the photos; even richer. I'm considering the alpha jacket in the same color for those colder or snowy days on the slope.

It's a pretty cool jacket, however I'm 5'10 and ordered a large jacket. It's a little baggy on me but that's ok! I would suggest looking up size measurements before making the same mistake.

Unusual colour which I appreciate. I have had a Beta for 15 years and so far this doesn't disappoint.

No worries about getting soaked in the rain during rainy hikes. My Beta jacket is lightweight and very comfortable to use.

Love the beta jacket, but you know what I would love more? If arcteryx brought back the Phantasm colour, it's beautiful, and lots of people at more local store agree about this colour

Amazing jacket! At first it might look like a normal one but it's ridiculously good in the rain or even the snow

High quality shell jacket. Perfect for biking, hiking, walking in the rain, great shell for skiing and snowboarding. It is really durable and good for daily use as well.

8 hours paddling in Yukon during a torrential downpour. At the end of the day I was the only person with dry clothes. I was wearing a hat and easily rolled the hood inside to prevent pooling. The large side pockets are easily accessible to the point I could access them without taking off my PFD. Cuffs closed easily and prevented any rain from going into my sleeves. Barely sweat despite working to paddle, wearing my PFD, and 20 degree temperature. Literally shook it dry after the fact. Best rain jacket I've ever owned.

Read this if you want a sort of "long term" review. (4 months) Excellent improvement in comfort, as the new backing in the jacket is way better than old beta. I can see why some are not satisfied with the DWR treatment, as its not as effective as the older PFAS DWR treatment. But after the first time i treated with DWR it beaded water perfectly. So as is with any changes its not going to be the same. But the improvements on the fabric itself, it's thinner, stronger and softer. It completely makes up for the need to reproof the DWR more often.

I'm a 20+ year user of Arc'teryx jackets. For skiing, sailing, climbing and bike packing I'll never use anything else. Reliable and Arc'teryx honors there pledge of looking after their customers if anything goes wrong. Thank you for my replacement jacket after my other one served me 18 hard years.

Have only had it a couple weeks but so far so good. Extremely impressed with lightness of the fabric and breathability. I love the cut of the jacket as well. My only wish is that it had pit zips, but I can make do without.

This is not a review about the jacket - I've owned it for 7 years (I guess it was called Beta SL Hybrid Jacket then), and it was the best jacket I've ever owned. I contacted the support team because I noticed that the seams were starting delaminate, which after 7 years of use, I was not surprised about. I just wanted to know how to repair them myself, or if they'd repair it for me. Instead, they sent me a gift card to cover the entire amount (tax, shipping) for me to purchase a brand new Beta Jacket. I was shocked that Arc'Teryx is willing to stand behind their product after 7 years of usage! Their products are a bit expensive - I think we all know that - but after this experience, why would I consider any other brand? THANK YOU!
