I am 5'7", 155 lbs and I got this jacket in a medium. I got this jacket for ski touring and cross country skiing on cold days, when a baselayer isn't enough but my shell is too warm. It has worked perfectly as intended! I tend to run hot and find the Atom LT to have a bit too much insulation when I'm working hard. The medium is a tiny bit snug in my bust (34DD) and for this I gave it 4 star. I understand this is a trim fit, and it does fit quite trim. It works for my purpose but if I was to wear casually (anything more than a baselayer) I would have preferred the size large. I got the enigma colour and its BEAUTIFUL!

Nice easily packable softshell. Great for climbing in the mountains and casual use. The only drawback is the small inner chest pocket. Too small for a cell phone which is bizarre in this day and age. Everyone has a cell pone in the mountains and town. Id buy again in a heartbeat. Took one star off for the pocket (should be half star off but not allowed).

Great little item for my collection of Arcteryx jackets. I did find the fit a bit tricky as I have broad shoulders and I am fairly broad around the ribcage. I settled on a Medium because the Large had way too much fabric in the torso area. I also find this quite lightweight and think the light version might add a bit more warmth. That said I find it great for a late summer/early Fall cycle or run.

I wasn't sure what to do with this? I tried it for lots nF thought it was never really going to be useful but eventually realised it's perfect for me for UK rock climbing. It's often breezy and whilst this isn't durable like a Psiphon FL hoody it's great to have a little warmth. The hood fits over a helmet (although a little tight round face/chin when done up), the sleeves are nice and long to keep your wrists warm but I wish it stuff3d into a pocket so you could clip to harness. I used it for cold fell running too but realistically it wasn't really breathable enough and is better just for hillwalking in windy conditions.

I was looking for a lightweight but insulated jacket for shoulder season activities and this seemed to fit the bill. It is incredibly lightweight but warm. I didn't have much opportunity to wear it in AK when it first arrived, but now that the weather is beginning to change, I have used it two times on hikes, each time wearing a light daypack. After the second hike, an area on the back developed obvious wear; it appears abraded/pilled. The shell portion is lightweight and I would expect wear and tear with time, but for the price we pay for Arc'teryx products, this is really disappointing to see after two rather short outings. It does not appear it will affect the performance but it's the principle of the thing for the wear and tear to happen so immediately. The jacket was otherwise near perfect.

I wanted to love this like most of my Arc'teryx pieces, but no luck. I have an Atom LT that fits perfectly; ordered the same size in this SL and the fit is WAY different - chest is super tight. It's also boxier throught the waist, so I don't want to upsize. Sadly returned.

Strangely for an Arcteryx piece, the arms have very poor articulation and low stretch. My elbows would cut caught in the sleeves bending my arms, or doing an upper cut type movement. Really weird. Took it back and swapped for a Proton FL which has a infinitely better shape/cut for climbing.

I am obsessed with the gamma non-LT versionwas my go-to all winter (Vanc). I was so excited to get the LT version for sprig/fall. The problem was the inside has no lining. So it's scratchy on the skin. I would not be able to wear with a T-shirt, which limits its use.

I live in Hawaii and this jacket is good for working outside in wet a cool weather, for backpacking, and for mountain biking. It doesn't get too hot and it offers protection against wind and rain.

So material-wise the jacket feels amazing. It's thin enough for a -5c winter running day and won't get too bulky. It works well as a daily jacket, you need an extra layer. So drawback for me (and this is more personal than it is about the jacket), as a short dude (5'3 on a good day), the sleeves are about an inch longer, and the length of the jacket itself is kinda nice with its extra longness but it bunches up when I sit. Take note my vertically challenged friends! Otherwise, great piece to have!

I bought this Jacket with huge expectations to use it for everyday use. I have around 5 Arteryx jackets and I am a huge fan but this jacket the sizing is so out to lunch. I downsized as I normally buy a large as I tried on a friends for sizing. When I got mine I can believe how long the sleeves are!! It's like I need a small. How is it I'm normally a large maybe a medium sometimes in most coats and this one I need a small. Very disappointed I have to roll up the sleeves everytime I wear it:(

Wonderful, light, impeccably constructed garment. After purchase and wearing it for a couple of days, I found myself holding this in my hands and inspecting the stitching and construction. This is where you can determine quality. What I found was great detail and care in the stitching, cutting and overall construction. In itself, this justifies pricing before materials are even factored in. I'm 5'11 185lbs and size L fits like a glove. Just 2 pockets on this jacket but that's fine. Feather light weight but surprisingly warm on the cool April days I have worn it this far. The Serene Color pops and it's really nice. Overall, a fantastic jacket.

I am a medium in some Arcteryx jackets, but this one in an M was tight around my hips. I tried the large, which fit around the hips (was even a little big) but was too big in the chest and especially the shoulders and upper back. The big shoulders (and excess fabric in the back) was especially odd, as I have broad shoulders (and I'm tall). In my experience (and I've seen others to the same effect), the gulf between women's M and L is too big, and they don't fit hourglass figures well. It's so frustrating because the bottom can be cinched, so it makes more sense to make it a little bigger relative to the other parts of the jacket. The inconsistent sizing between items is also frustrating, as I end up having to order multiple sizes.

Bought this in the fall. The jacket overall is amazing but really disappointed with the zippers. I find when I hike, ski, run in it, the zipper slides down until it's totally open. Was expecting better quality for the price.

Great jacket except the front and back length is like absurdly long, it's like 2.5 inches longer than my Atom LT. Super frustrating.

Was very excited to receive this jacket and I really did like it! Wore it on a 1.5 hour hike 4 days after I received it and came home to find the back piled and frayed. I was wearing a light water backpack with all the straps clipped in so minimal friction occurred but this product did not hold up. I am very disappointed, I really wanted to like this hoody. Arc teryx products should be designed to handle much more than a casual 1.5 hour hike.

I was surprised when I received this Atom SL by the fabric quality. Very different feel from the Atom AR and Atom LT. I understand it is light weight but the fabric feels very inexpensive, noisy and will tear easily. The drape is stiff and for this reason, even though it's SL, the quality is lacking for the price and so I will need to return it. I don't feel it is Arcteryx's level of quality I expects. I will purchase another Atom AR which I love. It is light in insulation and the feel of the fabric seems of better quality.

Great jacket, but terribly poor fabric. The jacket fabric cannot withstand external wear and tear. This is not a sustainable product.

I own 5 Arcteryx jackets and all are top-notch quality. However, this one is disappointing and extremely poorly made. I exchanged one, but the same deal, so I think it is the manufacturer general problem. Share some pictures. If you are expecting good quality, I would not recommend it, but if you can live with it, good design jacket.
