I love this jacket. I wear it as a wind shirt on backcountry ski days. Its great to wear under another layer against my base layer. I wear it to break the wind while up tracking.

I love all of my Arc'teryx jackets, but this is one of my favorites. Great for running and the stow away hood is genius!! The deep pink/purple color is so beautiful.

I have used this in spring and fall in Minnesota, when the nights and mornings get nippy while walking the dogs. Have found it to be light, comfortable, does not bind or stick to clothing underneath. Just enough insulation

I have two of these jackets, the anorak and the full zip. It makes a great spring/fall jacket and a great mid layer during the winter months. It also comes in handy during a light rain as it dries so quickly and has the light water resistant hood.

I work at a large American outdoor cooperative, so to say the least, I have accumulated a lot of jackets over the years. Most of them are great, but blend in and get forgotten aboutnot this one! Living in the southeastern United States, I need something that breathes, can keep me warm, and is ready for unpredictable weather. This jacket fits the bill perfectly! It has become my absolute go-to for 3-season backpacking!

I live in California and have been able to wear this jacket year round. It's the perfect weight for wearing around town, or out on a hike. Great in a light drizzle as well. This jacket has become my daily jacket of choice. It fits true to size and does not constrict movement at all. The jacket is is very good in windy conditions as well. I would highly recommend this for someone looking for an all around jacket to wear in varying conditions.

I have owned this jacket for a few months now and it provides a warm and water resistant shell for 40 degrees and above. Or an excellent midlayer with a rainjacket. I honestly would love to buy one in each color.

Brought it to use xc skiing to avoid overheating. Fantastic for blocking the wind on the downhills and keeping you warm enough other times. also useful for spring hiking.

Been looking to replace a light insulated synthetic jacket. The Atom SL met all my needs and most of all, it's performed to all expectations of a light insulated jacket. Can be worn alone, as a mid-layer or shell for added warmth. Perfect for all seasons and various types of activities. Sizing is true to size. Great job Arcteryx!

New fit is much better than the prior version, expect minor stretch from the side panels.

I can't believe I went so long without this jacket. I wear it for running and cross-country skiing anywhere from -10 to +5 C depending on my effort, layering choice, sun, wind, etc. It regulates temperature extremely well. I feel like it isn't as durable as I would like at this price, but it is still worth it to me. I purchased a 2020 model before the "revised" model. I am 5'4", 125lbs and my usual size S is perfect.

I got this several months back and it is one of my favorite jackets for cool and slightly warm weather. it has the functionality of temperature regulation like a vest (no insulation in arms) which is great for activity. The pockets are also harness compatible so this is an awesome jacket for climbing in. Durability gets a 10/10, I've climbed and hiked in mine for months and it hardly has any wear.

To begin this review, I want to talk size and fit. I am 6'5", 220 lbs. athletic build. All of my jackets from Arc'teryx are size XL, all of my shirt tops in short and long sleeves are size Large. Arc'teryx products fit tall people absolutely perfectly. For the function portion of this review, I want to stress that I am not a skier, snowboarder, alpine climber or rock climber. Some may wonder, then why do I buy Arc'teryx gear? I choose Arc'teryx products because their fit, function, range of movement and performance is second to none. Period. So as for this particular piece, the Atom SL, I use this hoody for everything during early Spring thru late Fall. Layering is a breeze with this jacket as the sleeves are smooth on the inside, I often wear a long sleeve Smartwool underneath during cooler temps and I am perfect. The DWR finish sheds light to moderate precipitation and blocks out the wind. The hood is not insulated, but it does its job of cutting the wind. I always have this in my golf bag, and I believe it's the best layer for a cool rainy day on the course. This jacket hits a home run on so many levels. The light amount of insulation, DWR finish for rain and wind, hood when you need the extra protection and unreal articulation that I've come to expect from all of my Arc'teryx pieces. Great jacket!! Thank you Arc'teryx for providing top notch outdoor gear that will last dang near a lifetime.

I bought this about 6 months ago, and it is so perfect. Got the bright orange color, I forget the name, and it's yet another reason why this jacket makes me happy. I've worn it as a layer after activities, just as something to throw on over, but also have used it for skinning in all different temps, and playing paddle. It's a phenomenal layering piece. It's super light, and warm for what it is. The only downside is that everyone and their mother can see what you have in your pockets.

This was my first Arc'teryx piece. I bought this last year with the Kyanite fleece sweater. Great combo to wear during fall & spring & even during colder summer nights. This jacket is so comfortable that I could wear it all day even while working in front of my computer desk. The fleece panel under the wrist to the waist is super well thought out. The articulation on the cuffs is just great. I do wish it was even more articulated! The hand pockets is a bit higher than I had expected however it's not a pro nor con of this piece. I would recommend the LT version to be more versatile and would probably get more use out of Toronto weather. Overall, it's a solid jacket and great fitting piece for me.

I bought this a couple of months ago and it has been great for the transition between winter and spring. I usually wear it to walk my dog on chilly mornings and I'm so happy with the warmth to weight ratio. I'm 5'5" and about 125 pounds with climbing shoulders and I got a small. I might size down for a more snug fit but my jacket might be a different fit from the newly advised version.

This jacket is great for a mid-layer or top layer if you're moving quickly. I used it for trail runs in the winter, around town, and also as a mid-layer snowboarding.

I wear this jacket almost daily! Hiking to running to casual wear. So thin that it layers under anything but still warm enough to wear alone

Got this jacket back in november and it has surprised with how warm it keeps me. Coldest for now was -15C with only this and a wool mesh baselayer while running. Kept me just warm enough without making me sweaty. It is allways with me while hiking now aswell. Ordered one L and one XL cause I wasnt sure about the size, but ended up keeping both!

Bought the Atom SL Hoody Men's 2 months ago. Twice I've taken it out of the dirty laundry because it so darn versatile I have a hard time finding anything else that matches its all around use. It's lightweight with pockets a great hood, breathable and shed light rain. I'm 5'8" 150 lbs. and bought the size small. Really love this jacket!

Bought the jacket specifically to run in multiple conditions. Living in Winnipeg Canada, our climate goes From -45 to -50 to 0 in winter, January to Late February. I needed a jacket to run in -10 to +10, in rain, snow, windy conditions. The advisor helped me narrow down my search and ended up with the Atom SL. My first run was in -5, I've run in 46km/h winds, some light rain, I have to say that this jacket was up to the task. It was light, DWR kept me dry, wind resistance was excellent and the core insulation kept me warm enough only wearing a baselayer long sleeve under! This is coming from someone who runs in 650 downhill running jacket for the winter! As far as fit, I'm 5'9, lean muscular build ~165-170lbs and the jacket fit perfectly with enough movement....tried and tested on a 20 mi long run! I am definitely an arcteryx follower now! Can't say enough about customer service either! My only problem is they have so many products that I want to own !
