My sweet beagle/collie mix had arthritis in his hips and back, and he started getting very uncomfortable when he was 12 years old. I bought this bed for him, and he began preferring it over lounging on the couch or my bed, which had been his previous favorite places for 12 years. When he got very sick from cancer, this bed was the only place he would sleep. He could still stand up from it quite easily, even at his worst. This bed was the best thing I ever bought him. Worth every single penny. He loved it. If your older dog could use a supportive place to rest, consider purchasing this bed.

I bought this bed for my Basset Hound. It is rather comical to see him sleep. Sometimes he is half on and half off the bed. Other times he is curled up in a ball or totally stretched out. Whatever, he sleeps like a log. I also have the extra large for my Rottweiler who is also very happy.

Our dog can sprawl out on this bed. She considers it like her home. She spends lots of time on it, resting. She loves it. We got the memory foam option for extra comfort and it's totally worth it.

This doggie bed is great. The cover fabric is great quality; it was easy to slip on the mattress and the mattress is very luxurious! But it is huge so make sure you check measurements with where you want to put it.

This is an exceptional dog bed. I love the fact that the cover unzips for washing. The cover is well-made and of durable material. The small was a good fit for my Miniature Schnauzer.

We had been replacing our $25 dog bed 3 or 4 times a year. We finally decided to spend the money and try out an LL Bean bed because of LL Beans reputation for having quality merchandise. We have had this bed for a year and couldn't possibly be happier with it. We have a 100 lb. Mastiff that sleeps 23 hours a day, so this bed has really gotten a work out. The memory foam insert looks and feels exactly as it did a year ago when it was new. The denim cover has been washed and dried numerous times and still comes out looking brand new. This bed is the best investment I have ever made for my dog.

I bought my puppy a premium bed about eleven years ago and it is still holding up well. He's now an eighty-plus-pound senior and I thought he might prefer the higher, more rigid bed. I was lucky to catch a sale and have some Bean Bucks handy. I ordered the extra-large because both he and my second dog,a 50-pounder, usually use the same bed. They have both decided that this is the bed they prefer.
It arrived quickly,as promised. We unrolled the mattress and let it settle out for the night. It went into the cover with no real problems, just a bit of friction. Because the mattress is firm, it holds its shape and, quite frankly, looks neater than the old one. The cover is well-made, comfortable to the touch and attractive. The bed's noticeably taller, which keeps the dogs off the cold floors. What I noticed right away was that the dogs stretch out more instead of curling up to stay warm while they sleep. My older boy doesn't seem so stiff in the morning; he steps off and has a good stretch, much like a younger dog. I'm glad I bought the extra-large. The dogs are glad. Life is good.

Our collie loves this bed, and so do we. Sturdy cover construction and high quality foam pad make this bed a superb value, well worth the price. If you find yourself in the doghouse, this is the bed you'll want.

I have 2 Peke's and got the Therapeutic couch and have that in my living room. Decided I needed a GOOD bed for my bedroom for my Ageing poochies. I got the brown b/c it does not show the dirt as much tho shows their white dog hair when they shed. I also Scotch Guard the mattress to keep it cleaner so it doesn't need to be laundered as much. Maddi is nearing 16 yr old so I know her poor body aches. Madsy is now 11 yr. old so I know in time he will ache. I LOVE the Therapeutic couch but didn't need that for my bedroom yet wanted a GOOD bed for in there. I LOVE the fact that this, like the other, does NOT sink into the floor! This is what they BOTH NEED! More so Maddi b/c of her ageing. She NEEDS a SOLID GOOD bed w/a NICE hard mattress in it and this fit it Perfectly. I do put a nice soft comforter on top of it to keep it cleaner and to make it somewhat softer but w/the harder mattress she can sleep more comfortably. At first, like the other, she didn't want to sleep in it. Added the cozier comforter and in she went! I wanted the harder mattress so she didn't sink to the COLD floor in the winter! as she did w/the cheaper bed I had which was a higher mattress. Her old ageing body is now not cold when she gets up b/c this does NOT sink to the floor!!! Also she can get out of it w/ease b/c this isn't a high bed and the fact that it's a harder bed so she can stand on it and not have it sink. It holds it's shape very well! Both poochies can EASILY sleep on the med. size bed and still have some room to spare! Maddi is 19 lb. and Madsy is 17 lb. I had NO problems getting the mattress in it. It seems Maddi is doing better all around from now sleeping in ONLY LLB Therapeutic beds! She seems much better during the day from sleeping in such beds and seems to get around much better now then when she was sleeping in the cheaper beds.
I know one commented on how this was too hard for their poochie. Then just add a softer blanket and you get the benefits of a GREAT mattress and a softer bed. I recommend this to ALL people who have ageing poochies (and NON ageing poochies as well!!!) and need a more supportive bed for them! You WON'T be sorry w/this purchase as I wasn't!!! ANOTHER GREAT PURCHASE from LLB!!!!

We had purchased this very bed for our last dog when she was getting older. Great support for them and washes up great time after time. The foam keeps its shape unlike most pet store beds that go flat. We just bought one for our new dog and she loves it! It has the durability to be a bed for the life of your pet.

I've bought 3 of these beds in 2 sizes large and medium - over the years. The the most recent has been in the last few weeks. None of the beds have worn out, although one I gave to an animal shelter when it's occupant was no longer with us. These beds wear like iron. I've had the large and two mediums. I wash the covers about once a month. Okay it's a bit of effort to stuff the memory foam back into the cover but well worth it. Unlike other dog beds the dog doesn't sink to the floor. They are well supported and rest comfortably. The medium is big enough for my Lab. I measured her from the shoulder to the floor and nose to tail. Perfect fit.

Bought the medium therapeutic bed for my 85 pound GSD - she loves it! She also has the large non-therapeutic bed. I opted for the smaller size and it fits her just right where as the large is a bit roomy. Thanks for providing a good quality, comfy bed for my dog, LL Bean!!

I have a 2year old 160 lb Great Dane (and growing) that I needed a bed for. Having had the LL Bean dog beds before (round blue denim) and knowing how great they are I purchased the X-large Therapeutic Bed. When Spike lays on the bed there are small indentions where the larger parts of his body rest. When he gets up the indentions disappear. When he lays stretched out on HIS bed with his four legs perpendicular to his body (Dane's usually do this on your sofa) his body is totally on the bed (Spike is 35" tall at the shoulders). Spike loves his new bed and so do I. It is totally his domain (rather than my bed or sofa). Excellent choice. Great buy.

We had two large size for our Yellow Lab and my wife decided her dachshund needed the luxury for her dog as well.
This truly is a high quality product. The memory foam is outstanding comfort for the dogs and the cover is virtually indestructible!

I purposely waited a few years to write my review about this bed because we've been through many in our home. This is the BEST DOG BED EVER! I share my home with two wonderful and rambunctious Rotties and these beds rise to the challenge. I have three beds (yes, they are spoiled Rottenweilers) and every one is still going strong after 4 years of love and use. I can't recommend these enough! I throw the covers in my washing mashine regularly and they launder well and the only sign of use is the monogramming (again, yes, they are VERY spoiled). Regarding size, I am 5'4" and my babies are 90 and 110lbs respectively, I can comfortably snuggle with one of my fur babies at a time on the bed and they both snuggle comfortably together on a single extra large bed. XL's are HUGE!

I bought an LLBean dog bed with a denim cover ~12 years ago and though replaced the insert twice, the cover has just started to wear through. After reading some of the reviews i was hesitant to purchase a second one as reviewers seem to say they aren't made as well as our original. I'm happy to say that the construction seems to be very good. The memory foam unfolded easily and returned to its full shape quickly. It is firm and our dog seems to be comfortable on it. I did lay on it and thought it quite comfortable. The denim cover is heavy duty (as our original one was); the zipper is covered and is hidden when fully zipped and i'm not sure why some said the zipper doesn't go around the edges to make it easier to get the insert in, but it does go around the corners on two sides. The insert was easy to put in and the cover fits well. Our dog is 75# and the Large is plenty big enough for him. I'm glad i bought it to see for myself.

My German Shepherd is larger than most at 120 lbs. Not overweight according to the vet. He ruptured both of his ACL's and we are waiting to determine whether the cross suture operation will work. In the meantime, I wanted to give him support for his hind quarters. The bed went into its cover easily and my dog went onto it immediately and has been on the bed every time that I see him. Great product. Not cheap but competitive.

Our old girl needed a soft solution for her stiff and sore joints. She just loves her new bed. I read other reviews concerning the foam insert. You need to be patient, unwrap carefully and wait a few hours. It reshapes with no problem. If you are not careful opening and unwrapping, you will damage it, as it needs to refill with air. (I have worked with foam seating in human healthcare and the same is true for those products when forcefully compressed for shipping)

We only buy dog beds from LL Bean because they last and are big enough for our 150lb dog. He can stretch out without falling off. This is our first foam style and we weren't sure if he would like it over his softer bed. He uses this one more often than the poly fill LL Bean bed. He tends to run hot and this bed must be cool enough that he stays on it for long periods of time. It took 1/2 day to fluff up once unpacked and there was no smell.
