I walk in and jog about 3 miles a day. After my first time in these shoes my knees hurt so bad I almost didn't finish. I love my Brook shoes but I would not recommend these.

Overall I have been impressed with this shoe. Definitely better for up tempo runs vs a Glycerin or Ghost Max. Even without a plate it does help to propel you forward thanks to its shape and foam. Only minor complaints that keep this from a 5 star review is the tongue is a bit too minimalistic- could be a touch longer w/more padding. Same with heel collar. I am sure both more thin as part of keeping weight down but for me I would prefer the plushiness I have become accustomed too in other Brooks shoes. Definitely a good purchase for me!

I did not like these at all. I recently bought the Hyperion Elite 4, which I believe are actually magical shoes. At $250/pair they are a race day only shoe for me though, so I thought the Hyperion Max seemed like a logical choice for trainers. They are completely different. They felt totally dead to run in, and I could feel it immediately. I sent them back after 30 miles or so. Ive gone through at least 10 pairs of Adrenaline GTS, and will stick with those unless I find a better trainer to match with the HE4.
Brooks of course took them back with no questions asked, because they are a top-notch company!

This shoe has been an excellent all-around training shoe for me. I have used for long runs up to 10 miles as well as 1K and 1 miles repeat workouts between threshold and 1 mile pace. The mid-sole foam is stable and responsive. It is a little firmer than other brands for this style of shoe, but soft enough to be comfortable on longer efforts. My favorite shoe I have bought this year.

Great shoe, lots of cushion and responsiveness. I have gone through 3 pairs of them over the last couple of years.

These, Hyperion Max shoes, are probably my fav. shoes running I've purchased in the past year. I have the Hyperion Tempo and Hyperion GTS. I like each of them for different reasons. The Hyperion Tempos are fast but don't have a ton of support. The Hyperion GTS have more support, while being very light and fast, but they could have slightly more bounce / cushion. These (Hyperion Max) are light, fast, and have a lot of cushioning, which allows me to use them on days when I do tempo runs OR long recovery runs. They work well in all circumstances which is a lot to ask from a single shoe. These are really great and my personal new fav. Brooks shoe.

I really liked these shoes until the insole came loose on the right shoe during my long run yesterday. Then it started sliding around and folding up under my foot. Stopping to straighten it out and put it back in place only helped it for a few steps before it was happening again.

Feel fast, without being too marshmallow and off balance for lateral movement. Like the cut back heel, seems to reduce clipping and high impact heel forces, even with a proper strike when hitting speed work.

Great shoe for sprinters, helps speed up turn over, and the way the shoe curves helps mid-foot runners roll onto their forefoot. The toe box was a bit small for me, and the size ran smaller than the ghost generation. Ill probably be changing back to the Ghost 15 or 16.

I like them but my left knee hurt during a 10K on Saturday. I never had an issue with my previous pair from Brooks

Upgraded from Hyperion Tempo and what an amazing change. Feel like the same weight, but so different a performance. Both make you want to run a little faster.

I came into the Brooks Trailhead looking for an all-rounder that could handle workouts, long runs, and easy runs. I had read good things about the Hyperion Max and had it in mind, but tried several other models to make sure it was the right one. Initial slip-in felt great. Really like the upper on this shoe. It's snug and accommodating at the same time. Fits true to size for me in size 11 and doesn't feel narrow or low-volume in the toebox or midfoot. Light and bouncy with a nice heel bevel and forefoot rocker that works well with my stride and biomechanics. I've got just over 30 miles in my pair and I've used them for -- you guessed it -- speed workouts, long runs, and easy runs. What I like best about this shoe is you get out of it what you put into it. Harder and faster efforts will be rewarded with quick, easy turnover while slower and easier efforts will soak up the miles and keep you moving. It really is a great all-rounder for me. My only quibble is that for runs over six miles I start to develop a blister on my right foot on the big pad just below my big toe. My right foot is a bit wider than my left so I think there's some sidewall issue just in that spot. I've tried different socks, but it still happens. Hence the four stars since that trouble spot limits how long and far I can really go with this shoe. Hopefully the next version is just a tad bit more accommodating.

Perfect shoe with multiple uses. I have owned three pairs and they can easily give over 300 miles without significant wear. Perfect for long, easy, tempo, even speed runs in training. I have used them in 5 Ks and HM and never felt any discomfort. They fit like gloves to the feet. High quality and amazing durability all around. Sadly, this model is out of circulation since Brooks ruined it with the bulkier and much heavier Hyperion Max 2. It's bye bye Hyperion Max to me... and the HM3 is coming bulkier and heavy too.

I love my GHOST MAX so much that
comparatively the HYPERION MAX felt scrawny and lightweight. So I sent it back.
The AMAZING BROOKS CUSTOMER TEAM takes great care of us, thanks soooo much you guys.

Love these for 10+ mile runs. Super snappy, I actually have to hold myself back from running too fast. Fast paces feel that easy. Legs don't feel shredded after 14-15 mile runs which is great.

Runs a little big. Too much room in the toe box for me. I wear 9-9.5 and bought a 9.5 in these - a 9 wouldve been perfect

Loved the speed and the cushioning however, after each run I had an odd back pain that showed up each time. I could only pinpoint it to the different heel shape and support in these shoes.

Good speed training shoe, mile repeats, 5K shoe. Have not tried more than 7-8 miles in them yet. Very comfortable for the distances that I have ran in them. Planning to use for upcoming 1/2.

Overall a good medium stack shoe. Feels true to size compared to my other shoes. My one wish is that the tongue of the shoe was more sewn into the upper so it didn't move as much. I believe the regular Hyperions are set up that way.
