Great shoe, feels like your gate just naturally turns over and you're literally rolling through your times/distances. For a max cushion shoe it wasn't as plush as others I've tried, but hey that's personal preference. Upper fits snug and the shoe laces have yet to come untied mid run with a simple knot (didn't know I needed this until my last pair of running shoes).

Came from the Hyperion Tempo. Weight wise they feel about the same, extremely light. I find these to be more comfortable as I found the Tempo to be firmer. Took a few runs in these before my calves adjusted to the fit of the Max, but I love them.

I'm 53 years old and run 20-25 miles per week. I run in two pairs of trainers that I alternate regularly, Saucony Ride 16 and Brooks Glycerin 20. I've wanted a lighter pair of shoes for ages to use in speed workouts and for racing. I was excited for this shoe, but after two runs of 4 miles each, I developed pain in the top of my foot and my achilles tendon. I'm used to shoes feeling great right out of the box, but I couldn't get used to these and returned them. I love Brooks' return policy. I'm not saying these are bad shoes, but they just weren't for me.

Great, light shoes, but these definitely run small. I comfortably fit into a size 11.5 Glycerin so I bought the same size in these but my toes were touching the end of the shoe and they felt very narrow. I went up a half size and they fit comfortably for me.

Not a fan of these. I knew as soon as I put them on. Brooks has the best return policy in the game. I am thankful for that.

Great light show. Well worth the price. This shoe provides the comfort and weight for training on the roads. I would say, if you're thinking about getting a pair, move forward!

Fast ship. Just took them out for the 1st time. Felt good. Im a heavier runner 225. I was looking for something a little more stiffer than the Nike Invincible zoom fly.
I like how these feel. Will update this review after I put some miles on these.

Go to daily, less than 5 mile, tempo shoe. Its light weight and great amount of cushion for this type of trainer in this category. Those that state not enough max cushion were expecting max shoe in a long distance category I presume. Recommend this shoe and look forward to testing latest version.

A new shoe for my rotation. I use this shoe on short to mid- length runs (5-10 miles) and my Glycerins for longer runs.

Amazing shoe in comfort and performance. Given the roll off on the toe, would not recommend for anything but hard pack, sidewalks and roads.

They ran quite large and I had to settle for a size smaller than I usually take. That was not a big deal as they fit well. A bit of a firmer ride than expected but so far I do like the shoe.

I bought a pair for my son who is a distance runner and my husband who runs 15--20 miles a week. They both love this shoe. My son loved it so much and talked it up so well, another runner on his c team purchased them and love them as well. Super light weight, and comfortable for long runs.

Definitely has helped me improve my mile time. Was consistently running a 10 min. mile and now I am running a 9:45 min. mile consistently. Very comfortable as well.

No break-in period needed. These shoes were ready to go from day 1 and could not have been more comfortable. They are lightweight and cool so much so that you forget you are wearing shoes at all.

The material feels like they are made of cardboard and feel very cheap and flimsy, unlike any other Brooks made shoes I own. I have 4 other Brooks shoes and they are sturdy, well made, and built to last.
I'd also recommend:
Any Other Brooks or Oasics.

I had hip replacement a couple of years ago, so I am usually using max cushioned running shoes when training for my upcoming half marthon. But they are not the best for speed and intervalls, and I am saving my carbon shoes for race day, so I recently bought a pair of Hyperian Max. I am very happy. They are light and feel fast, and I was surprised about the level of cushioning. I can strongly recommend these shoes for people who are looking for a fast and light shoe with a "soft landing".
