Super comfortable but a not came with the shoes saying they have to air out between wearings for 24 hours. That is basically a deal breaker since I wanted them for travel. Sorry to have to return.

For $182.92, I needed to love these shoes. I didn't. I loved the quality of the leather and the leather smell. Loved the workmanship. Loved the soft footbed. Loved the strong metal eyes for easy pulling of the shoe laces. Loved that SAS offered an 11 1/2 DD. Hated the minimal arch support placed too far back toward my heel. Hated the wide, clunky toe box. Looks too much like a work shoe. Hated the price.

My husband, who will wear anything, saw me taking them out of the box and said they looked like his grandmother's orthopedic shoes. I never even tried them on - they're going back.

the foodbed is very good and offers maximum cushioning and support. the tongue is small and tends to angle to the side. it's also not well padded so the shoestrings put too much pressure on the top of the foot. overall, it's good but the manufacturer could make some improvements. i found that thinner shoestrings helped a little.

This shoe was not narrow enough for my AAAA feet. I was very surprised, as I had thought it might be too narrow. The laces do not go far enough toward the ankle to secure the foot in the shoe. I could walk right out of the heel with the laces tied snugly.

these shoes are very stiff and solid. Not at all what I expected. could never wear these on arthritic feet.

Wore them for first time yesterday. I feel they will become more comfortable as I wear them in. Stiff yesterday, but leather forms to your foot as you wear them. Wish I had ordered half size larger. Well made shoes

In general I think SAS shoes are excellent. My other SAS shoes are quite roomy and the leather is soft, but his shoe seems small and the leather is quite stiff. A disappointment.

I bought this shoe in wide after reading reviews. I was hoping it is comfortable as my feet are sensitive. This shoe was narrow and gave me a bunyon. I was hoping it would be more comfortable after spending so much money

These seemed ok at first but I wore them on a trip with some really long walking days and now I have plantar's fasciatis after not having any issues with it for about 10 years. I've tried putting new insoles in and nothing helps! Very disappointing in such an expensive shoe (I have a pair of SAS sandals that I buy over and over because they are so amazing).

The shoes pronated inward. The color was not Coffee...but a muddy brown. I am returning the shoes

This shoe is made from good quality leather and I wanted so much to like them. However, I found them to be extremely heavy and thought they would not be comfortable with my troublesome feet on long walks.

This is not an attractive shoe. (It looks like a man's, and the plastic things that the laces run through don't help.) The deal breaker for me, though, is the heel strike feels like concrete despite the cushioned insole.

I always bought Easy Spirit Shoes and loafers and was always happy. I bought all of my shoes from your Huntley Illinois store. They closed so I went directly to SAS. Since you don't make Easy Spirit anymore I purchased Walk Easy Walking Shoe and was disappointed. I wore them in the house for two weeks hoping to break them in. They never softened. They were so stiff, won't bend, pushed my foot forward that hurt my toes. I am returning them to you.

I love SAS shoes, but not this model. I ordered the coffee because it was on sale, and I can see why it was the only color that was on sale. I think it would have been more attractive in the charcoal. I own a pair of charcoal Free Time shoes that I like very much. The shoes felt large to me. I probably could have worn a half size smaller. The leather was very stiff and shiny, and I found it difficult to get used to the rocker motion technology. In fact, I lost my balance and tripped twice because of it. When I looked down at the shoes, I felt they made my feet look like duck feet. I'm going to stick with Free Time.

At first I thought these would work great, they looked pretty cute and were very supportive with my own Superfeet orthotic insert. However, after finally getting my correct size, I slipped on some water on my laminate wood flooring- yikes- no grip! Tried it again on the bathroom tile- a little moisture on the floor made these soles’ traction non-existent. I needed them for a trip during rainy season, so I had to return them. There isn’t much available in the way of lace up supportive black shoes for travel, so I am very disappointed that these didn’t have better traction. Thanks Zappos for allowing me to try many shoes! I’m careful with them, but still appreciate being able to try and return!!

The Pros: they shoes are super comfy and the Extra Wides are (unlike so many shoes) ACTUALLY extra wide. The heels are a bit wide, too, but with the laces, that can be remedied well enough to keep the shoes on with stability. The Cons: ZERO arch support. I don't mean there's very little: I mean there's literally zero: the insides are flat. The shoes are of a decent quality and they're cushy and comfy like slippers, but like slippers, there's no support for walking for any amount of distance. If you're desperate for extra-wide shoes, they're worth considering and adding arch support inserts. I, in fact, debated keeping these for a long time. But I ultimately returned them. For such a very high retail price, there's just no excuse for the complete lack of arch support.

I didn't even try it on. The picture looks a lot sleeker than the shoe itself. When I opened the box I thought , "oh, my mother's diabetic shoe." The detailing and the nubuck were very nice, but for me, the footbed was way to deep. If you wear thick orthotics or have hammertoes, this would be a really good shoe. It just wasn't the style I was looking for.

The shoes were very comfortable. I bought these because of plantar fasciitis and they definitely helped with that. What I am very unhappy with is that twice these shoes caused me to trip. I suspect they are wider than marked. I take a WW shoe and since they were so comfortable it didn't occur to me that they were too wide, they felt like they fit fine, but for some reason these shoes made me trip up (once injuring my shoulder for which I am in physical therapy) and it hasn't happened with any other shoe I've owned. I do not know if it was the shape of the sole, or if the shoe was a wee bit too wide, but these shoes are too dangerous for me to wear.

Had I known ahead of time that this has a rocker sole, I would not have purchased it. Ive been wearing SAS shoes for more than 14 years. It is all I have in my closet; lately my Achilles tendon has been a-killing me. currently going for physical therapy. As soon as I take my shoes off, I feel much better. If you are used to wearing rocker soled shoes, these should be fine, but they don't work for me.

I tried to like these shoes but after wearing them regularly for almost 6 months they were still not comfortable. They are flats but the heel is just too high for me. I feel like I am leaning forward when I am standing. I can really feel the extra padding under the heel and it is uncomfortable. I can feel where the padding stops mid-foot.Wearing these shoes and doing a fair amount of walking and standing everyday put pressure on the balls of my feet. My feet feel much better now that I have stopped wearing them.
