Excellent construction and materials. Rated 4 instead of 5 because, now, only 2 and not 3 handle lengths are available. There had been a length between the short and shoulder length. That's great for a short person and missed.

I purchased this with the hope it would fit a weekend's worth of clothing and personal items, and I'm not disappointed. With the holidays coming up, I have lots of car travel in my future. I can fit several changes of clothing and my toiletries and a spare pair of shoes. This and a small backpack, and I'm not bogged down but can find everything that I need thanks to the full length zipper. The bag can stand on its own, which is a great feature when trying to find exactly what I need.

More stiff than I had thought it would be and seems wider than the picture shown above.

Great for boating, not for airport. It would be nice to have outside pockets, and a strap for over the shoulder.

Bought this bag as I wanted an all black color beach bag. I love this bag, fits all my items needed for the beach for my family and is great quality overall. I would have rated it a 5 star, however I wish it had the longer handle options like the other boat and tote bags do as that is my preference.

I love the black bag, but the short handles are so impractical for the large tote. It's difficulty to carry, especially when full. The embroidery turned out well, zipper wasn't effected, like others said. Lots of space, zipper works well, outside pocket is perfect for my phone. But please, for the love of all things granola, make the black tote with the long handles!!

Just received the tote in red. The light blue was not available. The tote would be perfect if the top of the handles were rounded as on other bags. Easier to hold and carry. Also rings on the side to use with a longer strap. Have many totes. Good quality.

The black bag is almost perfect, except that the straps are too short to wear over a winter coat shoulder. Why do the basic bags have that long strap option and not this one? I see many other requests for this also. I also just finally asked if I could get one done custom, and sadly (your factory is right there) you won't do that either. And I'm told the long strap option is not on the horizon. I'm sure there's another brand out there that is taking note, why not keep us all happy and sell the version we want yourself?

King very much like the tote bag , but it does not have any inside pockets. Although a negative, it is an excellent purchase and well worth the money.

I love these bags, have had many over the decades that are still in service. This one is great except for the fact that unlike every other one I have that has the monogram on the pocket, this one was done on the other side. So it looks stupid.

I've bought these in many sizes in the past, very small to very large. I'm disappointed I can't buy in a small with a zipper with a long handle. There used to be so many options and many color options.

Great quality. Got it for my grandchild. It was just what was requested. Except I spelled the name wrong! It looks so nice, the all black, the purple embroidery. It would be nice if there was an option for an inside pocket.

As beautiful as I expected. The bag is a bit heavy for me.

I wish the monogramming was on the front and not the back of the bag. Love the zipper and wish there was an internal one was well.

The large size is roomy, can hold all you need from groceries to clothes, tools, toys, etc. The straps are comfortable to grip and just the right length to hang over my shoulder, although one strap does slip off from time to time. The zipper was a bit tricky to use at first. You have to pull the material all the way up, line the zipper up straight, then pull across. Of note, this canvas tote bag is floppier and lighter compared to Bean's original Boat and Tote. It will fold in on itself if you try standing it up on its own and the material is thinner. The original Boat and Tote's sturdy quality tells me it's the kind of product made to last for a lifetime. This tote feels more like a novelty bag with appealing colors and a side pocket that you're paying $15 more for than a large size Boat and Tote. I expect this tote to last for several years with regular use. Time will tell. However, it does makes it easier to fold and store when not in use. I'd love to have a side pocket on the inside! Or better yet, bring back the customizable totes with side pocket! I see other reviewers say their tote bag comes with a card from the person who made it. Mine didn't. It was wrapped in a clear plastic bag and had stains on it. I can't help but wonder if what I got was a returned item...

I like the blue color. Would be five stars but there is no interior pocket.

My only complaint is you don't offer different handle lengths, which should be offered in all bags

Love the sturdiness of it and the way the zipper allows for extra room and security but a little frustrated that there is not a long handle option but it seems there use to be at least for the all black option. Please bring that back, I would love one with the longer handles in all black.

I was so happy to find this bag which I will be giving to my husband for Father's Day. I got him a custom boat & tote in all black with long handles and a pocket a couple of years back and it's his favorite bag. He would have loved another - but this is the only all black option I see. I do like the black stitching. He will be disappointed in the shorter handles, maybe in the future!! Also don't need the zipper top - maybe you could bring back the custom bag - or just stock the cool all black with long handles. Thanks LL Bean!!

Love the Boat and Tote and I love this color. I only wish it was available with the long shoulder strap handles. An even better option would be to make this color available in the custom Boat and Tote! That would make it a 5 star!

I love this bag, but I wish we had the option to pick the longer handles. As with all of my LL Bean tote bags I know it will get great use of the bag.

Nice large bag, one of many that I've purchased over the years. The stichting on the inside bottom is a little shoddy. Long threads and not straight. Unlike the usual excellent quality LLBEAN is known for. While I hope and don't think this will be problematic, I felt I had to mention it. Otherwise the bag is perfect for all my needs: groceries, gym and water aerobics class, picnics, grandma's bag of surprises, art supplies with lunch and blanket. I washed my first bag and let it air dry, it looks like new! Highly recommend these totes.

Great daily tote for your lunch, shoes, water, book, tech anything that doesn't fit in your handbag or briefcase! One star off because the black color is a little dull. But it's still a great bag!
