They are extremely uncomfortable between the toes - the little thing that goes between the big toe and the next toe is hard, scratchy, and actually gave me blisters. I tried for a few days, and finally sent them back for a refund yesterday. In years past, I had many of these flip-flops, and they weren't like that at all. A year or two ago, they changed and this problem appeared, and I did let you know, LLBean. My feet did not change, it is definitely the material you are using, or something in the manufacturing process. I thought I would give them another try, because I really used to love them, especially the ones with the Labrador retrievers. But apparently you are not addressing this problem, and I am so disappointed. They are so cute to look at, but so painful; I do NOT recommend them.

This is the first time I have ever ordered a pair of shoes from LL Bean that was uncomfortable. There is a leather strap attached to the thing that fits between your toes. It is SO uncomfortable. I looked to see if all the flip flops were made like this at this price so that I could return them. It looks like there isn't. I have worn them for several weeks to see if they get any better, but so far they still hurt. I haven't returned them because I have had them several weeks. I love the looks of the shoe. I bought a pair of flip flops several years ago that I loved, but it looks like you all no longer carry that kind.

These are not the same as the pair I purchased several years ago. The soles are very hard and inflexible. The underside of the material is rough, and left scrapes and red irritation on my skin, particularly the area near the big toe. What a waste of $35. For that price they should be comfortable and non-irritating. Hugely disappointing.

I have previously purchased these flip flops and loved them. However I am very unhappy with this recent purchase as they seem to be cut very narrow and do not fit the same way. I wish that I never wasted my Bean Bucks, etc. on them as I am unable to wear them comfortably.

I love these flip flops, but feel the material between the toes has changed (not as soft) glad to see this style back!

Although the product was long enough, it was disproportionately narrow. I have not had problems with other brands of similar footwear products, so I am really disappointed, since I like LLBean overall.

I was extremely disappointed with these flip flops. They are more narrow, and at least 1/2 size too small. I have purchased these flip flops every year when you offered the Lab motif. However, this years version is terrible. They are very stiff and uncomfortable. PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the previous version of these flip flops. Will be returning.

I only wear these flip flops around my house. Within a month the rubber sole layers separated on both shoes and had to be glued together. I know this isn't representative of LL Bean's commitment to quality, but very disappointing nevertheless for a $35 pair of flip flops.

I specifically buy these because they are comfortable and durable and I have owned many pairs over the years. This time they are rubbing blisters on the top of my foot. I contacted customer service and they were very helpful and sent me another pair but I had the same result. Something has changed and I am disappointed that I have to send both pairs back.

So very uncomfortable (kind of like walking on concrete), not a soft foot bed and I cannot see them getting comfortable any time THIS summer. The irony is that I decided to purchase them based on the excellent reviews. Setting up a return first thing tomorrow.

Why did you have to change the original Maine Isle flipflops? These are still not like the original. I have 5 pairs of the original ones and every year you change them and they are uncomfortable. These have a footbed that is not like the old style. The strap actually rubs against your foot in an uncomfortable way. I wore them around the house for a couple days trying to get used to them, but no luck. Please get the original footbed again. I love the Maine Isle flipflops and can't replace my older pairs. What a disappointment!

The synthetic foam leaves a black mark on my feet. Cheap product and overpriced. Tired of getting cheap Chinese products from an American source like LL bean. Spend my money local from now on

Not sure what is going on with LLBean lately. I have a pair of these flip flops from a few years ago, same size, that are longer and wider than the new pair. I'm going to give the new pair to my daughter and try ordering the next size up for me, but they are just not the same. If they fit you they are great otherwise.

In the past, I have ordered and wear your original flip-flop but these are not anything like your originals. The new ones were at least 1/4' shorter and 1/4" wider than my old pairs. They do not have the arch support that your originals had in the past. I was very disappointed in the quality.

Hi, I don't usually post reviews-- it takes too much time. But I created an account so I could post this (I have 3 pairs of the first-generation true original flip flops that I bought with a guest checkout). They are still great, but I'd like to buy a few more pairs, just for something different. From what I've read in these reviews, these shoes are not the same as the originals. What's the difficulty with bringing them back exactly and precisely according to the old specifications? Did the supplier go out of business? I've checked back here 2 or 3 times over the past 2 years hoping they've been reinstated, but still no joy ... really, what gives?

L.L. Bean keeps changing the sizes of the original sandal. I have 5 pair of the original and loved them. These are cut smaller and not as wide and now there is a dumb arch that they put in. Therefore the new raised arch makes them not the original anymore. They are uncomfortable. So sad to see a good company making cheap decisions. I compared them to the old ones and they are not the same foot bed at all. I keep having to return items .

I had such high hopes after reading the review. But I'm sorry to say this was the worst flip flop I have ever worn. Hard and uncomfortable is the only way to describe it. Will never do that again.

Like others I have about 10-12 pairs of the ORIGINAL Maine Isle flip flops. THE MOST COMFORTABLE FLIP FLOPS EVER!!! These are NOT like the originals!! Not sure why you had to change them but they not only run extremely big but you also changed the placement of the arch support which hits closer to your heal than your actual arch. I returned and am searching for a new flip flop. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

I used to annually purchase these flip flops before they changed last year. Was so excited when the 'old' style was back this year. When they arrived (I ordered sizes 10 and 11 to try) they were exactly the same length and thus too small for me. No size difference at all. Please, please, please LL Bean go back to what you were doing 2-3 years ago in terms of sizing, materials and colors. So many disappointed shoppers when you got away from the good quality you had

The footbed size was fine . The straps are too long, causing a very poor fit. I almost tripped because of the loose straps. The footbed was hard and uncomfortable. I returned them.

These flip flops used to be my favorite but they are now uncomfortable. The sole is too hard and not supportive. I ended up returning them. Also they run big.

They colors and animals on these are horrible!!! What happened to cute stripes and polka dots?? Who wants owls, dogs and crabs??? So disappointed! I even tried the other style because there was at least polka dots but the fit is terrible. I thought this was a joke because I dont know anyone that wants to wear these ugly patterns....now I have to find new flip flops.....after buying and wearing LL Bean for at least 10 years!!!

I have a handful of the lab motiff flip flops that I have ordered throughout the years. All have been wonderful with a perfect fit, especially last years, so I don't know what happened to this one. It is sold as a medium B size and it is so narrow--my foot falls off and the strap cuts into the side of my foot on the inside of my right foot. I put it against my other flip flops I have gotten and it is shorter and narrower than all of them. So disappointed, especially since I was excited because it was my favorite color on the strap w/ my favorite color of lab!!

I am so disappointed. As with many reviewers I had bought several pairs of your original Main Isle flip flops through the years. Last year I could only buy your new style Main Isle flip flops. I hated them. They were too short in size 10 and the lower heel was very uncomfortable, not to mention the sole felt flimsy. I returned them. This year I was excited to see your original flip flops again. I ordered a pair. What have you done!?!?! The size 10 is too short; I measured it against a pair I purchased a few years ago and there is a 3/8" difference in length hampered by the fact that the strap going across the foot is longer so it is too loose on my foot. Will probably be returning these too.
