he first day I received these shoes, I wore them for 6 hours and my feet didn't hurt one bit! The shoe fits my full sized orthotic perfectly and is stylish enough to wear with a dress! It was exactly what I was looking for and the comfort level is unbelievable.

These are the most comfortable dress shoes that I have ever owned! The first time I tried them on they were like walking on marshmallows. They heel is very stable, easy to hook the shoe. The shoes I got said they were a AA in width, but I wear Med. to Wide, so it has to be a mistake. They look like they are Med. in width and true to size both in length and width.I qualify all of this by the fact that my right leg is very weak from Neuropathy and knee surgeries, so a shoe with a heel has to be stable and comfortable!

You should care about your feet: you only get 2. That said, I'm really happy I got these shoes! Needed a 'stylish'/dress shoe for work where I'm on my feet 8-10+ hours at a time, and the shoe had to look nice enough with shorts or a skirt. I normally wear a 9. But decided to get the Aravon Maya in 9.5 (when standing, working for that many hours, your feet tend to swell and need extra room). For this reason, the 9.5 is perfect. Another note: My feet aren't necessarily wide but I'm not comfortable wearing pointy-toe shoes or styles which taper around the toe because I'm fighting off bunions. The Aravon Maya gives me all the room I need. If you're shopping for this shoe, you care about your feet and care about being comfortable. Me, too! I mostly/only wear Birkenstocks (have 5 stylish pairs of those); occasionally I wear Born when I need something cuter. (I only wear 'torture shoes' if I'm going to a party or someplace where I'll be SITTING down.)

Great shoes! I waited to review them until after wearing them 12 hours straight at an all-day wedding celebration. I bought a second pair.

I tried these on in a store and will buy these for fall. They fit like a glove and are so comfortable. Great heel height. They are very stylish and my orthotics fit well in them. Plenty of room in the toe.

These are the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever had. I have wide feet and normally when I find comfortable shoes they are ugly. Not the case with these shoes. They are the perfect shoes for a night out, they look great and if you have to do a lot of walking it doesn't matter, your feet will not hurt! They are also very flattering to your feet, my feet look normal in them!

Wow! Talk about comfort! I have a wide foot (especially in the toe and ball of the foot) and high instep. I love cute shoes that make a statement, too, but I refuse to sacrifice comfort for appearance. I also refuse to sacrifice appearance for comfort. Finding comfortable, easy-to-wear, breathable, and attractive shoes is always challenging, however, unless I shop European manufacturers. I was thrilled to find Aravon. With the Maya and the Mia, Aravon has made the shoes of my dreams. I tried both the Medium and the Wide in my regular size. Both fit, though the wide has the relaxed, easy fit I like straight from the box. If you like a tight fit, you might want to select a size narrower than usual. For my easy Pacific Northwest lifestyle, the wide was just perfect the moment I put it on. The velcro strap was great for easy on and off wear. I love the burgundy color, too. Aravon, let\'s see more shoes like this--colors, prints, and fun-loving styles. You\'ve got a customer who is waiting to buy more shoes like this.

I purchased these shoes for a two week trip to Europe where I walked five - ten miles daily. They needed to look good with pants and skirts and be comfortable at the end of the day. They felt good and looked great everywhere I went. Not quite as comfortable as a pair of athletic shoes would have been, but much more attractive.

Hallelujah!! Finally, I think I might have found my perfect shoe..I just tried them on out of the box and they are so comfy..the adjustable strap holds my foot in the correct position so that the arch hits just right and foot doesn't slide forward so toes don't jam into box. I am a flight attendant, no longer a spring chicken, knee, back and foot pain. At work I am always on my feet, sometimes for as long as 16 hour days and constantly on the go . I wanted something versatile enough to go with pants or skirt; these are definitely cute enough to wear with skirt, bonus, I won't need to have 1 pair of heels to wear walking through the airport and a separate pair of service flats. That saves space and weight in luggage and having to change back and forth...I hope after I work in them I won't change my mind, but something tells me I'll still like them. I am going to order as many pairs at once as I can afford, just in case the style gets discontinued..I agree with the other reviewer, Aravon should consider adding other colors, preferably for Spring and Summer looks. I would like to see a camel or tan color and a white.

The Aravon Maya (8 1/2W) is the perfect shoe for me. 1) Maya accommodates my orthotics. Being of Finnish descent; I have a wide forefoot with narrow heel, bunion, plantar fasciitis, hammer toe and Morton's neuroma. My orthotics are supporting my feet properly; so all these conditions are greatly improved without surgery, yeah Dr. Shandles, Tampa. But, to complicate matters further; my left foot cramps with intense dystonia when my Parkinson meds fail...2) The Maya prevents "slip and fall injuries". I needed firm lateral stability. Mushy "soft" insoles "give" and make the wearer tip over sideways. My hubby and I dance on our town squares. BTW tell a dancer, "merde" to wish us luck when we perform! (NOT "break a leg"!) The Maya's soles work a bit like "jazz sneakers" on concrete or carpet. Some shoes stick like super glue. They have broken some of our friends' bones, too. But, on a wooden dance floor; the Maya isn't good for dancing. So, there is some anti-skid effect to the sole. So, Zappos, please ask Capezio and Aravon to collaborate? There's no dance shoe that can accommodate orthotics for "wide and troubled feet". Who dances with feet like these? You might be surprised!!! 3) The Maya is "feminine". I recently turned 65. When the Zappos box arrived; I tried them on with a dress. To me (all things considered); my Mayas are "GIRL SHOES". 4) Make them in more COLORS! First, I vote for matte silver to match my hair. And, for summer, perforate the leather or integrate some mesh. At least a year ago I was shopping at a local shoe store (whose prices are similar to Zappos); I tried on Aravon's "Mia". But even in the 8 double wide; the skinny straps hurt my bunion. So, I verbalized a wish, "Make the same shoe without those straps." Somebody at Aravon or New Balance was listening. Or, was it Zappos reading my mind? I wouldn't put it past Zappos customer service to try ANYTHING to keep us happy. And, Zappos had the Maya before the local shoe store.

My foot doc told me to wear New Balance shoes for my particular foot problems. I have a narrow heel, high instep, and I need a wide toe box. When I discovered Aravon, made by the same folks who make New Balance, I decided to try them. In this shoe, I was amazed to wear an 8 2A, which is narrow! It fit my narrow heel great and was WIDE enough in the toe box for my bunion! It fit immediately. I almost cried with surprise and joy. Zappos doesn’t sell the 2A, but if you don’t suffer from a really narrow heel, you should be okay. I NEVER wear a narrow because the toe box is always too tight. So this style is very different, much wider toe box, great for me. I hope this helps you make a decision.

I love these shoes. I bought them for a recent trip to Paris to celebrate a major birthday. I needed something business-y that would look equally good with skirts and slacks and, most of all, would be comfortable for long days of museum walking. They really fit the bill! I take a 9.5W, which can be hard to find. They have a nicely wide toebox, just enough heel height to look dressy, and an adjustable velcro ankle strap for comfort. I'd buy them in every color if they were available in my size.

I love these shoes! After years of sports and injuries, I have a fused ankle. I wear Walking Cradles, Clarks, MBTs and now these! They are comfortable, stylish, and needed no break in time. I am ready to order more! Thanks Zappos!

I bought these shoes last Friday for a Wedding in SF this weekend. Was so tired of my 'cheap' black dress shoes and knew we would be doing tons of walking so I gulped at the price, but bought them anyway. What a great investment (although I have to say I paid a little less at an area shoe store than through Zappos). They are amazingly comfortable and I even got compliments on the style from the 20-something crowd. I wore them all day Saturday an then again all day Sunday and loved them. I hated to take them off to go to bed! They only come in whole sizes, so that may be a problem for some, but, even though they felt a tiny bit large (and I normally wear an 8 across the board) in the store, they come with an extra insole that is easily slid in that made the fit perfect. I will remember this brand for future shopping.

I slipped these shoes on for the first time and wore them for hours. They are extremely comfortable and supportive. I have an extremely high arch and was able to wear the Aravon Mayas without pain. They will travel to Europe with me this month and I expect to wear them a lot. I wanted a shoe that would dress up a bit, and still support my feet while I walked. These will do it. They are not quite as high an arch as my Dansko shoes, but they offer a little more style.

Beautiful shoe! This is so pretty and well designed. It feels comfortable, but I have to evaluate it on fit. This shoe is surprisingly wide in the forefoot, and pleasantly fitted in the heel. Just the sort of shoe I should be able to wear. In my normal 10 1/2W size, there is too much depth in the forefoot for me. I like it so much I will try to get it in a 10 1/2B. If your foot is fuller, as well as wide, this might work for you.

This would have worked if the strap was not at my ankle. The strap was cutting on my ankle bone. Have to return.

The toe box seemed really roomy but I felt like I was floating in them. I couldn't order a smaller size because my big toe was hitting the front as it was. I can tell these would be great work shoes for some people, bu unfortunately, not for me.

I ordered 7.5W and they fit like 8-8.5 extra wide. They were a bit loose, but the bigger problem was that it felt like my feet were sliding forward. The ankle strap keeps the foot in place to an extent but starts to dig in. I was so excited for these shoes because I’m desperate to find wide/high toe box shoes with a narrow heel, but these weren’t the ones. :(

I always buy D width from Aravon, but the last two pairs I bought now that they are under the Rockport brand have been too wide and I've needed to send back.
