My feet are complicated - forefoot is both wide and high volume and I have a bunion to boot. I do better with a zero drop or close to neutral shoe with a flexible sole. I have purchased Xero trail runners in the past and they have worked for me. The reviews suggested that this version of the boot is narrower than usual so I went for the men's version and sized up a full size instead of a half size as is recommended. The width was OK, just barely, but the length was too long, so they went back. My feet are shaped like Daffy Duck's so a normal to slightly wide foot would probably be fine. Thanks Zappos for your quick shipping and generous return policy!

Used them for a 5 day rappel rescue class and a 4 day Grand Canyon right off the bat. No break in required, at least for my feet. Grip was awesome on all my hikes and climbs including loose rocks, wet rocks and rappelling down metal and concrete buildings. I’m a 9.5 and ordered 9.5. Fit was perfect for me. 1 year old Achilles tendon pain was gone within 3 weeks of wearing these. 1 year old Plantar fasciitis has mildly improved. Only complaint is the tongue is not wide enough and sticks out a little at the top, which makes it difficult to tie your shoes quickly.

My husband got to try out the new Xero hiking boots while I tried the non-waterproof version, a review sample before they were released. Check my review on the women's Daylite Hiker Fusion for more details, but ultimately these boots worked great in the snow, which they're not even intended for, and felt good over lots of hiking and mountain climbing. Because they are waterproof, we had a little issue with wet (sweaty) socks even on a chilly day. I think that's just the trade-off you get with waterproof boots of any kind. He did have some trouble with a blister on the side of his foot and sore balls of his feet, so we can't quite give this five stars because he doesn't have that trouble with non minimalist hiking boots and shoes. We wonder if perhaps you are supposed to get used to the thinner sole or learn how to walk in a different way, since I didn't have that problem at all and he tends to walk more on the balls of his feet. Overall happy with the boots, just tentative for very long hikes (we did 33 miles in 4.5 days).

Absolutely the best shoes I've ever worn. I'm a huge barefoot person, but when I have to wear shoes , these are all I want to wear.

These are great lightweight hikers without a lot of bulk or stiffness. True to size and very comfortable although a little hot.

About twice a decade a replace my boots. They need to be waterproof - which these have proven to be. And, as a bonus, they are WICKED comfortable. Perhaps a little too much space in the toe box, but the wiggle room has been good and not a problem when hiking or doing landscape work. I am extremely pleased with the flexibility and will definitely seek this company out again for future footwear.

I didnt buy these for aesthetics or the wow factor. I have plantar fasciitis, and it is killing me to walk. I bought these because the pain only goes away when I go barefoot. I have had them for two days and no pain. I am cutting in the woods for firewood so I wear my steel toed boots while running the saw and switch to these while twitching out the wood and loading. So far, so good. I will be ordering again. Now, if you made bare foot boots with steel toes By the way, they are waterproof. I will let you know in a few weeks how they hold up durability wise.

I love my Xero shoes and this is no exception. I wear these out in the rain for dog walks, hikes in the park, and just going around NYC. I absolutely love the new tread on these! so well thought out, big grip and wide spacing so nothing get stuck in the tread. As usual, wide toe box and zero, my feet are happy and so am I.

I put 60+ miles on these in the first week on a variety of terrains with and without a backpack. They’re slightly better without the backpack, but that is is a totally subject observation based on my personal experience. They feel amazing, like they’re giving my feet a hug. I hope they last a long time. I plan to put them to the test.

Sole is designed like a person’s foot. Turns in a little from heel to toe. Nice soft front for my big toe! Use my own insoles i. every shoe and boot I buy. My is old works perfectly. Zero has a new loyal customer as long as you stick to this really good sole design that actually shaped like a human foot. Very nice.

Took my Birkenstock sandles off and put Zero's on. And had the same comfortable feel especially in the nice wide natural fit toe box. Walked around leading- training horses today. Boots are waterproof as well. On uneven terrain at times. Not problems and comfortable.

They arrived last Thursday so I've had a week to try them out. Saturday I broke them in on a family hiking trip to Black Water Falls and Dolly Sods in West Virginia. They performed beautifully on their maiden voyage. Then, I put them through the real test: a work week in the field, hiking up rocky hillsides and down muddy forest slopes, rain and shine. Again, they exceeded expectations. After having worked for months in big, clunky steel toe Dr. Martens, these felt like slipping on nothing more than a pair of light socks—socks that managed to provide just enough support and protection to allow me to forget I was wearing anything at all as I trudged over all manner of difficult terrain. My feet stayed dry through heavy rain and mud, and I could actually feel the ground I was walking on, helping me to maintain sure footing despite often unpredictable surfaces. My feet and legs (and back) are quickly adapting to this zero-drop "barefoot" style boot: becoming stronger and more stable. I like that I have the option to remove the included insole for an even closer to the ground experience or leave it in for additional protection. Not the most stylish shoes I've ever worn but eminently practical. Highly recommend for anyone looking to strike a balance between rugged outdoor support and a minimalist footwear ethos.

Awesome shoe. Really waterproof as long as you don't fully submerge past the top of the shoes, super comfortable and true to size, good grip, and honestly seems pretty durable

They did great on a 10+ mile hike. Just enough protection from potentially harmful things on the trail while letting me still feel the ground beneath me.

Bought them for my teenage son. First pair of walking boots and am feeling very happy about all that discomfort and blisters Xero have saved him from!! He loves them and commented on how good it was to feel so agile on your feet on the trail!

This boot is a good fit for a daily boot. Lightweight and water proof is an awesome combination. Unfortunately I order mine half a size smaller so its tight. So make sure you know your size and if it doesnt fit return it within the time given. I still use them from time to time. Totally recommend them!

I got these to use on a camping trip. It rained unexpectedly and I had these on. I did not realize my feet were not wet, and would have been in other shoes, until I looked down and saw water from the grass had gotten on my shoes. But my feet were totally dry. Also these shoes flexed with my feet much better than my regular hiking boots Ive used for years.

Great boot for short or long hikes. Soles are a little thicker but still good feel and traction. The little loops in the back broke off after two or three usesother than that durability looks good!

I wear a size 9 in men’s. On xero shoes website, they recommended going half size larger. So I bought a 9.5. They fit perfect! Love how they feel, and look. Haven’t tried hiking in them yet, but they seems like they’ll do the job. Great hiking boot.

Wore these to hike the trails of Mt. Ranier. Unbelievably comfortable. Waterproofing is legit and are my favorite shoes. You wont regret buying these.

My husband loves these boots! He just wore them climbing a 14ner in Colorado and said they were amazing, even on the downhill going out. They let his feet feel the ground and he never has foot problems when he wears your boots. He has backpacked into Utahs canyons with them, too, and forded streams with no complaints. Thanks for a great product!
