I use the two types of socks together when trail running. I have never gotten a blister even when running with wet sock/shoes/feet for hours. The socks stay where they are supposed to and do not bunch up. The Smartwool socks I have used last for years.

At first I thought they were gonna be too thick even for light cushion but they were perfect in my Hoka trail running shoes. Really saved my feet on a day hike.

I used these socks for some very special event: Matterhorn Extreme Ultaks race. I chose them because they have very dense sole, allowing to ignore sand and small stones which may be getting into the shoes. While providing good protection, they are lightweight and compact enough, not to retain much water, from whenever I cross rivers and wet terrain. Bottom line - they worked well!

I love Smartwool socks, especially the ones for light hiking. They have a thicker sole that I like when I go for walks. They last a long time and I love the patterns. They are the best merino wool socks I've ever had, and I have tried other brands that are similarly made. I always come back to Smartwool!

I received these socks in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I am constantly surprised at the comfort and support that these socks offer. I have had a lot of hiking socks in my lifetime yet Smartwool remains at the top. Even after many washings, they remain soft and comfortable. I also really like the guarantee process. Some companies say they have lifetime guarantees, but it is almost impossible to wade through all of the red tape. Smartwool makes the process so easy and effortless. I will continue buying products from them for this very reason! #sweepstakes
