I am disappointed in the quality of the zipper on this jacket. it is a plastic zipper which never dis-engages without a struggle. Why does this outdoor gear jacket have a cheap zipper while the Alpine Polartec 100 has a metal zipper - which glides freely and dis-engages correctly without a hassle. i was so looking forward to using the ThermoBall Jacket this fall/winter, but now - not so much so. Shame on Northface for cutting corners like this!

Size and fit were good. The durability was not. My daughter has had it since Christmas and it’s already got a hole in it. We’ve never had this problem with The North Face.

I have a North Face jacket from years ago. The material, logo and zipper of my new jacket was cheap in quality. The zipper is difficult to unzip at the bottom. Felt cheap. Will stick to my old jacket until North Face realizes the error of their ways and returns to the quality materials they used in the past. Too bad. I loved the quality of yesteryear. Can't justify paying the same price for cheaply made product.

I was disappointed in 2 things 1) the zipper head is so small it's difficult to use
2) logo is cheap (rubber) all my other coats are embroidered
Fit & feel are standard, I like the light weight and yet warm enough to wear in Minnesota
Like the color (blue)

After seeing the wimpy zipper I returned it.
Nice color. I love the one I ordered years ago with a heavier zipper.

Love that this jacket is lightweight and comfortable. Have worn on a couple of fall hikes and it has kept me dry and warm (8-10 degrees C)
This jacket is not warm enough now that temperatures have dropped to around 0.

Verified Purchase
The Northface label is a sticker and not sewn on. Not worth the price!

The jacket was super cute, and I loved the way it fit. But...it wasn't warm at all. I wore it outside to test it, and I may as well have not been wearing a jacket at all. Sadly, I returned it.

This jacket is so cheaply made it has already torn . The stitching is coming out . I have not even had a chance to wash it . Quality has took a turn and yes the jacket is cute and warm it's not going to last . What happened north face ? The jackets used to be a staple in my closet and now they are such poor quality.

Felt cheap quality. Arm sleeve length is way too short, you won't be able to slide your hands up into the sleeve unless you're petite and you can see the model has the sleeves pushed up because the sleeves are way too short. The sleeve cuffs are also way too tight so again you can't pull your hands in for warmth and they will cut into your wrist and I have tiny wrists. I've been looking for a backup for my thunder 800 jacket I bought in mid 2010s and so far every year I've been disappointed with what North Face offers, maybe it's time to move onto a different brand.

The fit and style was great!!! Sadly the quality of the zipper was not what I would consider North Face quality. It was made of thin plastic. Even with light use in Texas “winters”, I would imagine it would only last one season. Will have to return this otherwise flattering and light weight jacket.

The fit, size, and material was fine. Unfortunately, the zipper was a huge problem. It's very poor quality and kept getting stuck. It took me 5 minutes of wrestling with the zipper to get it unstuck. Maybe I just received a defective one, but I'd check the zippers and make sure they're working smoothly if you order this jacket.

Not a flattering for for me. Bought M according to size guide. Runs big. White is on the yellow side and returning it. Might have kept it if it were a true white. Guess that's what Birch white looks like.

runs small, light weight, I can deal with all that but.....the zipper is so dinky it does not work well. it went back. I am surprised on how cheap of a zipper they are using given the price of the jacket. too bad, north faces sinking into the mediocre realm.

Why such drab colors? I own a beautiful azure blue Thermoball jacket I bough in 2020. Bring back brighter jewel tone colors

Would have been a nice jacket at a good (sale) price but for the fact that the zipper was defective. Beware that it’s a cheap plastic zipper. Surprising for a north face product. Disappointed that I could not get a replacement because this color was sold out and all of the others were full price, which I would never pay for a jacket with such a cheap zipper.

Not a fan of this jacket anymore. I have one from about 5 years ago and it's wonderful. Metal zipper and logo stitched on. Great quality. This new version is so cheap. Heat transfer logo and plastic zipper that isn't smooth at all. Disappointed at quality for the price. Returned it and Will wait till they go back to the old design and craftsmanship.
