I liked this coat a lot! It was super super warm! The only thing is it's kind of straight and boxy in a way but I still like it!

It's a very warm and stylish coat. However, the drawstrings on the hoodie do not really stay in place to keep the hoodie on, so it may slide off of your head.

It's very warm material. I like that it is long. North Face is the business...let's be clear, it's stylish and comfortable

I'm 5'4/140lb and bought black M for a trip to Canada city/mountains in December. After a week and a half of wearing it every day in 0 to -5 degC I'm very happy with it. It's really comfortable - and coming from California, I definitely needed something warm! The outer fabric is surprisingly nice and soft, it keeps you warm but not overly hot, the waist cinch works well (I wanted a jacket with a bit of shape) and it's been very waterproof against a lot of snow (also dries quite quickly). There's a lot of small details I love - the front snaps allow for quick closing/opening without needing to do up the zipper every time, and the cuffs inside the sleeves are good for keeping my hands warm when I'm too lazy to bring gloves. The lower pockets have closure flaps that snap down, or can easily be tucked into the pockets for easier access to keep your hands warm, and the shoulders are wide enough so I have full range of motion with my arms - I'm not pulling the entire jacket up when I need to reach up high. It's also long enough that when we sit down outside it keeps my pants dry. There are a few things that I don't love - the front zipper can be a little fiddly to get started, the back bottom rear zip doesn't really add much shape or motion undone, there's no zipper/inside pocket for valuables, and when I cinch the waist tighter I need to pull some of the fabric to the rear or end up with fabric bunching over my stomach. The medium also sits a little big on me, I maybe could fit a small (I purchased online using size guide, couldn't find in store to try on) - that said it's good to have room for layers. Overall, I love it and love wearing it. It strikes the right balance of looks and utility, would buy again.

Very warm. Sizing was very liberal. Needed smaller, but none in store.

I ordered this coat in large for a November college football game, when I received it, it seemed a little large, so I went to the North Face store to try on the coat in medium, but the didn't have this style coat. I tried on another parka with a velcro closure instead of the snaps this one has, the medium fit perfectly so, I bought it. After I had it a few days I decided I did not want velcro snagging my sweaters so I returned it and ordered this parka in medium. The medium came but it was tight in the shoulders so, back it went. Yesterday I went to the game in my large parka with the inside elastic cinched, it kept me warm and dry all 7 hours! So happy I bought this coat!

This jacket will be great for Fall, Winter and early Spring in Maine. But after just a few days, I can see I'll have to leave the zipper closed and step into the jacket each time I wear it, which is sometimes inconvenient. The metal parts don't want to align and it's a weaker design compared to the zipper in the McMurdo jacket I also purchased for my husband. Disappointing since everything else about this coat is excellent.

5'9" 136lbs, medium. Bought this parka and the arctic parka. I returned this one b/c it wasn't very slimming or flattering on my body, but it was warm and I liked the arms on this one. I probably could've gotten a small. I returned this products over 3 weeks ago and have not received my refund. No updates from TNF; they keep saying they haven't gotten it. Honestly really upset bc this parka is so expensive. I'm never buying from TNF ever again.

The jacket is warm not too heavy and looks good. The zipper is just very frustrating to operate, it gets stuck when starting. Feels like you're going end up ripping the zipper off eventually.

Beautiful jacket but I am a little worried about the zipper. Very difficult to connect and pull for me or I'm doing something wrong and the other reviews are also wrong. The pockets are in a weird place me as when I'm cold I would like to put my hands in my pockets. I'm keeping it because it's just so nice, warm, cozy and different color that I would not have picked let's hope for the best. The medium fit me perfect where small may fit tight.

Love the coat it is super warm! If you are in between sizes size down or it hits to long on your legs. Zipper can be a big pain compared to the plastic ones, it takes time and they have to be in the perfect spot.

I love the color, but am returning because it was a bit too puffy for my liking. And one I did not care for the pockets! There should be more! It seemed like it would be very warm. The zipper was a little bit temperamental too, but I wasn't sure if it was because it was new.

I'm between a S and M (36-30-42) and have tried all this year's coats. I needed something very warm for time spent standing still outside, I wanted it to be mid-thigh or close to knee, and it had to accommodate my large hips compared to smaller upper half. This jacket fit well in a medium, and I loved the look, especially with the waist cinch. Unfortunately, it was not that warm - I could feel the cold on my arm especially just walking outside to try it on. McMurdo Expedition in S won out - the relaxed fit means it's roomier, and it was definitely the warmest too!

coat is super warm, however, i only hang this coat on the back of my door and wear it in and out of my car. somehow, two matching rips happened on either side of the coat? in strange locations. not sure how this happened. i have worn it probably three times. i would recommend this product but unsure why that would happen with barely any wear.

PNW weather 20-40 degrees. surprisingly not very warm. i like that it's not velcro. hood is kinda tight. the zipper on the back seems short on what it does, i feel like it should be giving u more functionality, just something. the buttons on the sleeves - disappointed that it's only 2 options (loose and a little tight)

I purchased this to take on a winter trip to Europe. While the outer fabric and lining are both very luxurious, the coat was bulky and the zipper was almost unusable.

I saw this online and went to purchase it at my local north face store, but they didn't even know it existed yet, so they special ordered it just for me. When I took it out of the box, I was so excited. They weight is AMAZING! It's soooo warm without being ultra heavy or bulky. the aesthetic qualities of the jacket are also on point. It looks stylish but casual, with attention to detail like the little leather notches at the hood. However, a few practical features fell short for me. The absence of welt pockets at the hips is a big miss. Sure, there are flap pockets in front, but on a cold winter's walk, it would be very awkward to hold one's hands in front of them like that. Instead, the welt pockets are at the breast, which IMO is awkward. What does a person with breasts stash in those pockets without looking misshapen? Is there actually room for items once it's filled out by the breasts themselves?? Seems like it wasn't really thought through very well. I also wish there were some sort of internal stash pocket for items that need safekeeping. Last but not least, I'm petite at 5'4 and 110 lbs, and I was swimming in an xs. I love that it's spacious enough for layers, but the extra fabric around my waist/back wasn't flattering, even for a winter jacket. Unfortunately, because of the impracticality of the pockets, I'm considering returning this item. It may work great for others, but didn't quite hit the mark for me.

This coat could have been an A++ coat but for such a major flaw -- no side pockets. I just got my coat and I love the style. It fits like a charm but ... in the rain, if you put your hands in the pockets, your wrists get soaking wet! The inside of the pockets get drenched. If you leave your hands out -- they freeze and get sopping wet. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!! NO SIDE POCKETS. This gorgeous coat went from an A++ to a D-. Please fix this flaw. It is miserable.

The zipper did not SUCK SO BAD. And it is just the fact it's a double zipper - I will never use that feature yet every time I zip my coat, I expel curse words because I cannot figure out how to seamlessly insert the male side into not one, but two zipper heads. I bought this style over a different northface parka because it has a metal zipper as opposed to plastic and metal snaps rather than Velcro - it just seemed like it would be more durable. Well, what's durable if not at all functional? I cannot be more mad at my purchase. I don't care about the pockets, I have a purse and the pockets are good enough to throw keys or a phone in - but uh, don't go sledding cuz the pockets don't secure shut. The coat is warm, stylish, a nice material. I like that the butt flap unzips so I can get in and out of seated position more easily. The hood is fine I don't understand the complaints about it unless you have a really tiny head. It's simply the poor choice of zipper in this design that has me full of regret. No one needs a double zipper it has buttons. This is a nuisance feature that adds no value.

All the comments about the awful zipper are absolutely true. Had to return because I don't have sixty seconds to fiddle with a zipper on a $300+ coat. And yes, also the pockets are super awkwardly placed and the hood was weird and pointy. Returned.

I was hoping this would be a good winter jacket. It is warm and comfortable, but the zipper is ridiculously hard to use. The pockets are also really awkwardly placed. Not as flattering on me as the model, but we can't all be jacket models.

I wore this out in 30 degree weather which was not that cold and I literally froze. My shoulders chest and arms were cold. I had on a North face fleece too. Very disappointed. Style wise it's gorgeous.
