Nice jacket but needs easily reachable chest pockets on the outside of the jacket. There are two "Alpine" chest pockets but they are difficult to reach, since they require the wearer to crunch their arm close to their shoulder in order to use the pockets. A simple solution would be for the pocket openings to be close and parallel to the center zipper. Then the coat wearer could simply reach across their chest, using their opposite arm (right arm to left pocket and vice a versa), to store away their phone and other objects, that they want to be easily reachable.

Great coat. Does run large so try on size before buying if possible. I went one size down and fits good. Very warm. I can wear below 20 degrees with a t shirt comfortably. Good wind and water repellence as well. Can also open zipper from bottom to give extra room while sitting or needing more ventilation. Competes with many significantly higher priced parkas with similar qualities.

My 15 yr old super tall and skinny son loves it. He's thrilled. A medium fit his 6'2" 135 frame. And seems like it will fit for a couple more years! My only complaint is the price!

Very warm and good looking coat. I haven't been able to put it through the wringer yet but it seems to be well made and looks like it will last for many seasons. I like the Velcro zipper cover vs the snaps from previous models. Multiple pockets give the wearer options on storing their belongings safely. The sleeves are a bit on the shorter side. I would prefer an internal cuff to prevent cold air coming up the sleeve without having to cinch the cuff down. Real fur trim on the hood would be a great upgrade as well as the faux fur is purely aesthetic and looks pretty cheap.

Looks very stylish and good quality. Suitable for my lifestyle:) the only drawback-seems to be not warm enough for our climate, but we have -40, so it's forgivable.

I like that the fur around the rim of the hood is removeable. It is a fashionable coat that is fairly warm. Overall the craftsmanship is good (not perfect as there are some loose threads throughout).

A stylish coat with some cons. First, the fur on the hood is poor quality, but more than that, the way the hood connects is poorly designed. It's hard to explain but I have to fix the position of the inner seam every time I have to put the hood on. Also, the interior of the pockets have the soft material on one of the sides only. The other side has the same material as the outer layer.

It's kept me very warm so far in the cold of a MN winter. Sizes go big, I normally get a large for my body type and it fits pretty poofy and wide but that's the only down side.

It's a warm jacket, size does run a bit big. Im 5'9 150lbs and a small fits me well. Front pockets and chest pockets are great. Side pockets kinda unless if you have stuff in the front pockets already, there's not much space to put anything else in. The zipper works well and smooth action.

Everyday Minnesota comfortable winter parka. Because it's "breathable" I layer Northface vest/shirt underneath with -10 degrees temps and a north wind 10+ mph. Quality build, incredible no jam zippers with lots of pockets!

I was looking for the warmest coat I could find for a reasonable price point and the McMurdo parka kept appearing as the top choice balancing both criteria. It is a very warm jacket, has ample pockets, nice styling - great for extended time outdoors. I would say the fit is generous (maybe a tad too much room in the body vs. other jackets of the same size) which I notice more when I don't have a lot of extra layers on.

Quality jacket, and quite warm. Only downside is it's not fitted and quite boxy, which allows the wind to blow in from underneath. NF please offer a slim cut option!

Coat is extremely warm, have gotten multiple compliments wearing it, and i've only had it for a couple weeks. I initially ordered an XL. I found that the coat runs a little big in size. Which in a world where manufacturers are trying to use less and less material, is a breath of fresh air. Returning the coat through the mail was a breeze, and free I might add. Ordered the L, and couldn't be happier. It is a very warm and puffy coat. I live in the Northeast. It might be a little too warm for parts of the US, depending on where you live. Great Company, great to deal with, and great product. They truly make stuff to last.

The Size is way off, but generally speaking, this is a very nice parka, a pity that I have to return it for another one, choose 2 sizes down would be suitable.

I have been using the jacket for a little over a month now and I must admit it is great. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that I don't love the fit. I was hoping for the jacket to have a tighter fit. Also, I think the hood could be a little "deeper" (similar to how Canada Goose) to protect you better during winter storms.

Love this coat. I have the McMurdo II and it is amazingly warm. Feature-rich fantastic coat, love all the pockets and the super warm fill. My only con/recommendation would be to add armpit vents, as this coat quickly becomes hot when worn indoors for any amount of time. Wore this to an outdoor hockey game in single digits and was nice and toasty.

I walk to work even in winter so I am using this jacket regularly. Warm enough for NYC, looks decent and has multiple pockets. May not be warm enough for more outdoory activities when its windy and below freezing.

I'm 6'1" 275 lbs. XXL is quite big on me. I like it that way for layering underneath, but if you like the coat for style, you may want to size down from your normal size. Warm down to -35c with a sweater on underneath. No hood depth or waist adjustment are a couple negatives, but not deal breakers at the price point. Hopefully I get 15 years out of this one like I did my last north face parka.
