VERY WARM! I have trouble keeping circulation in my toes on cold days, but these kept my feet warm for hours while standing in several inches of snow. The Arctic Grip works rather well, but won't stop 100% of slips on icy pavement (which is acknowledged on the shoe's tags, so no disappointment there). My only gripe is that the shoe opening is stiff and so the top of the tongue and the adjacent opening part of the shoe cuts into the top of my ankle a little. I have already sung praises of this shoe to friends.

I ordered these boots primarily for the arctic grip. I find them to be quite helpful on ice and in addition, they are warm. What I do not like about them is that they are very stiff, making them a bit uncomfortable to wear without a heavy sock to cushion. I have worn them roughly twenty times now walking our dogs and they have gotten a little better but still are amazingly stiff for a walking boot.

I've had them a month now and I walk my huskies on trails and paved roads. I have not slipped on any of our walks!! I did have to put another insert in them as they are wide and I wear a really thick wick sock. They are stiffer then my N.B. waterproof walkers, but the "Arctic Grip" is the real deal. The length and toe box are fine.

I was hesitant to buy online but needed a good winter walking shoe for the cold and couldn't find anything local. Overall, this shoe is pretty good - if you're careful on iced roads with these shoes, they perform well. I like the fit - it feels like a solid shoe on my foot and is easy to walk with. Have to wear heavier socks-my ankles need protection from the solidness of the ankle part of the shoe.

I'm an avid year-round walker however last winter I slipped on ice and tore my hamstring. I was looking for something that I could wear when I walk on my lunch break that would prevent slipping on icy sidewalks. So far so good. They are a bit stiff though and I'm hoping over time they will break in a bit more.

I have yet to test on ice to see how the grip works. For a "sneaker" it is very stiff. I am hoping the shoe leather starts to bend to be form fitting.

I purchased these for the Arctic Grip soles and for the sneaker profile that's less clunky than boots. The soles really do help with traction in slippery conditions, and the shoes are well-made and relatively attractive as these things go. They are, however, quite stiff to the point of bruising my ankle where the shoe laces up. They feel a bit awkward to wear. I will keep them for the traction, but I wish they were in general more forgiving and flexible.

I ordered my regular size, 81/2, regular width, and that part was fine. Good looking shoe with all the additions to make snow travel safer, easier and more comfortable. However those same "pluses" also made the shoe very HEAVY. I am a very senior lady who insists on being active outside in all seasons, but the weight of this shoe tired out my legs just trying them out in the house! Now I'll know to check out the weight of winter shoes & boots. So, even though the shoe was just what I wanted, it wasn't what I could use comfortably, so I had to send it back. I gave it 4 stars and knocked off one star to indicate I had a problem with the shoe. However, if this shoes looks good to you and you've got strong legs, buy it. I bet you'll be very happy with it,

The Women's Snow Sneakers with Arctic Grip are well built and solid. I expect that they will last for years. My feet stay plenty warm and dry in these. I would prefer them in a slip on/off shoe rather than a lace up for ease and speed of kicking them off when coming back inside. I didn't notice where they gripped the ice as I thought they might based on the description. If you're looking for a shoe to feel surefooted, confident, and stable walking on slippery snow covered surfaces these shoes are great for that.

The snow sneakers kept my feet dry and warm. Very comfortable. I live in a very snowy, icy area and like to walk no matter the weather. However, they did not grip the ice as I thought they might and as advertised, was very disappointed.

Well made shoe and performed so well except that the ankle area of the shoe is so firm/hard that it bruised the area below my ankle that I could not walk in them even a week after trying to break them in. LL Bean allowed me to return them. I will continue to purchase items from LL Bean!

These snow sneakers look good and seem well made. Until now I have worn the Women's Snow Sneakers 4, Low Lace-Ups for winter walking in Vermont and have had at least three pairs. This new version is a poor substitute. They are extremely stiff and will take a while to break in, something I never needed to do. I liked that this new model had Arctic Grip on the sole for safety. However, there are cautions to not wear them in the house. So, it was impossible to try them out although I did walk around the house for a few minutes with reusable grocery bags over them. Quite a site, but not long enough get a good feel. Now, because I've worn them outside twice they are mine, otherwise I would have returned them. Please bring back the original snow sneakers and put Arctic Grip soles on them.

These boots are comfy and super warm and waterproof, even in freezing temps and snow. They fit well too. However, the inside of the heal wears out very quickly. They barely lasted 2 seasons and I had to buy a new pair. This pair is halfway through the new season and are already torn up and through to the foam on the inside heal. Fortunately I wear thick socks or they would cause blisters. It's very disappointing bc otherwise great shoe that keeps my feet warm in everything which is hard to find. But don't want to have to buy a new pair every season!

I ordered a 1/2 size bigger as was suggested but they were too big. If I had ordered my regular size I think they would have fit fine as far as length so I think they must run true to size. If you have bunions, you probably won't like these boots because they pinch in that area on the sides. I'm returning them and going to try a different brand with a wider toe box that was suggested to me by customer service. They do have really nice treads on the bottom that look like they would keep you from slipping and sliding so I would say order them & see if you like the way they fit. Zappos has a great return policy if they don't.

Very stiff. I hope it will get better. Size is okay. Have not yet tested waterproof, warmth and special sole.

These shoes have a lot of style but they run very small and narrow. Disappointed but have to send back.

The shoe was cut too high for me - the top rubbed on my ankle bone. Had to return

These are sturdy and warmer than regular sneakers. Good grips on soles. A little boxy and heavy, they are not the most attractive shoe. The leather is also quite stiff, resulting in a little soreness at the heel and ankle from the tongue on my longer walks.

I ordered these and tried them at home. They were comfortable, but a bit heavier and clunkier than I wanted. I was looking for something to wear instead of my heavier winter boots, but these weren't quite right. Had to return them. Still a huge fan of The Bean!

The style of the sneaker did not work for me. Just walking around my house and going up and down stairs the sneaker on my left side started giving me a blister.

I wanted these to work but after wearing them several times, they still hadn't "broken in" and the top of the shoes were digging into my ankles, and it caused them to bleed and scab every time I wore them.

I'm 77 and got these because am a fall risk and wanted the protection of slip-resistant sole during winter. These would make me even more of a fall risk because shoe is stiff and heavy sole is so rigid made my balance problem even worse. Very disappointed because really need. Returned.

They are well made but way way too stiff--I could not walk even 15 min without it being painful at the top of my foot. NOTHING helped--not thick socks or inserts put on thetop of my foot--or flexing the top before wearing. Very unyielding . I returned them. the grip works great but itis not worth the discomfort of the shoe.

I really hoped these would work, as I walk outside every day and had hoped to continue doing so throughout the winter. But, as others mentioned, the top of the shoe surrounding the ankle is very inflexible and after just one 1/2 hour walk, cut into my skin, which was quite painful. so sadly had to return them.

I was thrilled to order these arctic grip sneakers as I walk my dog every day and worry about falling down (northern NH--lots of snow and ice). The grips were fantastic and made me feel confident walking. The sneakers are nice looking; however, after wearing these 4 times, I started getting a bruise on my ankle which swelled up like an egg and then was raw and black & blue. I even tried different thicknesses of socks to cushion the ankle, but nothing worked. The tongue and the top of the sneaker are so rigid which caused this. I think that the top of that sneaker needs to be looked at and improved because the rest of the shoe was fantastic. Most of my clothes and my husband's clothes come from LLBean and we have ordered for 20+ years (jeans, sweaters, tops, flannel shirts, etc.). I would buy this arctic grip shoe again as this gripping part really works and made me feel confident walking. This is the first thing I have ever returned to LLBean and wish it had worked out. I even order my children's birthday gifts from here (pajamas, sweaters, and thermal wear). I have had the LLBean credit card for years also.
