Best boots ever!!! Warm and comfy - can wear them all day. Absolutely non-slip. I wear them all the time.

Live in the Great Lakes snow belt. Very comfortable, warm, not too heavy, and traction is good. Size ran slightly big for my daughter and I but did not affect my fit. Ordered 1/2 size down for daughter. Little bit of extra room allows me to wear with or without heavy sock. Great for driving, and running errands in snowy weather :).

These shoes felt great the first time I wore them. Virtually no break-in time. I felt very secure walking on a wet paved trail. Fits true to size.

They fit great with a thick sock. Wore them walking on trail in snow and 25* out. My feet stayed warm an dry and not as cumbersome as walking in boots. These are a great cold weather walking shoe.

I must say these were worth every penny. I feel sure footed in snow while walking, the boots allow almost a sneaker like awareness of where my feet are. The insoles are removable, allowing me to wear my full length prescription orthotics. Great foot/sole support. Toe box is roomy, even with the orthotics. Toasty warm. Unlike other boots I've used, when I get inside I'm not in a rush to take these off because they don't hurt my feet at all.

I agree with another review which said they must be broken in gradually. As they're higher to the ankles, it's very necessary to eliminate the rubbing. However, once broken in, these shoe boots are absolutely great! They're the ony boots I wear all winter long and are perfect in every way! The Arctic Grip is awesome.

I purchased my normal size 9. It fits true to size. I would like more support, replacing the insole fixed that. The heel slips a bit, this got better with the new insole. I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan where roads and parking lots are normally snow and ice covered for months (except for this year which is very mild). I got them for the traction of the sole, a shoe I can walk over the parking lot and into stores. They work very nicely for this. They don't grip like Yaktraks but I definitely have better footing on snow and ice. I would recommend them for older ladies with new knees who really don't want to fall or walk like penguins. Younger women will like them too!

Cleveland gets a lot of snow and the area where I live has a lot of 100 year old sandstone sidewalks. These sidewalks are extremely slippery with a bit of snow. So I was really excited to try out my new boots. Unfortunately, they're not any better on snow than my RYKA walking shoes, and those are worn out! And now I'm not able to get the RYKA shoe with a specific sole that works so well on snow covered sandstone sidewalks, so I'll be wearing the significantly less comfortable LLBean boots.

I love the idea of being able to wear sneakers instead of boots where it might be icy, and the tread on these convinces me they would be better than any of my boots. It doesn't bother me that the insert with them says not to wear them in the house, since we don't wear outdoor shoes inside anyway. I to have to have on thick socks and to be very careful of adjusting the tops or they cut into my ankle. When they are adjusted correctly, the are comfortable.

Bought bigger size but still too tight. Kept shoes but big toe turned black after hikes in 2 days.

The first pair I ordered fit nicely but smelled like someone else’s socks right outta the box. I still kept them and was so happy with the foot protection that I ordered another pair. I like gently kicking the delivery van door shut when I’m carrying packages. The traction and toe is perfect. However, the second pair came in the mail with two different sizes! I ordered a different brand because my size is sold out. I wish more L.L. Bean work shoes would become available because it’s a high quality brand.

I bought these a few years ago. I experienced the same problem others have noted with my ankles being rubbed, however, they seem to have softened with time so that is no longer an issue. They are warm and help to prevent slipping in icy conditions. I call them my "non-skid shoes." They are very stiff. I tried running in them once and my back was really sore afterward. I don't think they should be called sneakers.

Wore these for a week in the rain in Scotland straight out of the box I received the day before I left. Perfectly waterproof. Good grip and mostly comfortable. I had to add some forefoot padding as they really need it. The stiffness didn't bother me and they were quite comfortable for miles and miles of walking (after I added the extra forefoot padding).
I read the reviews that said "true to size". Not true. I wear an 8 to 8 1/2 women's shoe so I ordered the 8 1/2 to allow extra room. My toes hit the end of the toe box - even on my 1/2 size smaller foot. I should have bought a 9. Unfortunately, even though I am in the return window, I have worn them extensively.
I recommend buying a size up.

Very comfortable. - I am getting used to wearing a larger size due to changing foot issues. And we have not had that much snow yet but they gripped well on the ice. The woman who helped me find the correct size was terrific!

These shoes are extremely stiff around the ankle. It hurt just to walk around the house in them. If it weren't for the stiffness in the ankle, they probably would have been a great shoe.

The snow sneakers are nice and warm with a nice lining. The sneaker itself is a bit stiff and takes some breaking in. They feel better each time you wear them. The deep tread on the sole is amazing and keeps you safe from slipping. Waterproof keeps you dry! I purchased the eights and the width and length are perfect. The fit was true and I would definitely recommend them!

When new, they chafe your ankle and could leave you with blisters. After wearing for a while, the stiff sides soften and are fit much better. You have to break in these shoes but they are great on snow!!

Seem to be well made. The first time wearing, they caused a rub mark on the outside of my foot and near my ankle. Some of this was my vault as I wore a thinner sock, and the shoe needed to be broke on. Second time, I had a thicker sock and work the stiffness out of the tongue of the shoe. As I am wearing them, the stiffness is working out . Looking forward to many winter walks ..

I am very happy to see that LLBean has put the Arctic Grip Vibrum soles on their snow sneakers.
I have Arctic Grip soles on some leather LLBean shoes and those soles have great traction on ice.
The snow sneakers I own are warm and waterproof but have an old style sole.
My pair is from a few years ago, and they are "slippery as whale s--t."
I gave up wearing them in winter on snow a long time ago, but yesterday I wore them on a drizzly day for my walk. I stepped off a paved path onto wet grass and almost immediately lost my footing. I do not fall often, thank heavens, and at my age I do not want to!
It seems my wonderfully waterproof, well insulated snow sneakers have lost another job.
Perhaps they can work inside the house as slippers....they seem very willing to slip. : )
Buy the new ones with Arctic Grip....and avoid any 'bargains' on the old style. I love my Arctic Grip leather mocs.

Arctic Grip is a great winter feature. The shoe is stiff and warm for outdoor winter walking. The cut is high and stiff on the ankles which I hope will soften over time. I understood the design once I walked outdoors on a frozen icy day. I love feeling a less slippery ground under my feet in the icy weather.

Wish shoe came in a wide width and not just medium. Size was true but narrow for my foot. Keeping shoe and wearing very thin socks.

I really like this shoe for walking on icey winter sidewalks and parking lots. If there is a great deal of slippery ice, I still need to be careful, but these are better than any other winter shoe/boot I have had.

These were quality made shoes but both shoes rubbed my feet at the inside large toe area. I had bunions removed several years ago so it is probably just me, I returned them.

Great for preventing slipping on ice. It looks like something a construction worker would wear; however, it is well made and the traction on ice is great. I had a hip replacement so I needed something to prevent a fall.

Boot fits well, but, maybe because of the non-slip sole, it is quite stiff. Can't really bend at the ankle without heel slipping a bit. Definitely not what I would call a "shoe". The anti-slip seems to work pretty well. Only tested once, on a really slick driveway, and compared to my other shoes they really made a difference.
