I have many pairs of NB and this one is slightly different in that it seems that the instep is so high it is tilting my foot at an angle toward the outside of my foot. I know that everyone has a different foot and that all wearers will not experience the same thing but these are different from the other four pairs I currently have. I am going to change the inner sole and see if that helps. I would add that I do think these are an excellent value. I have a pair of Saucony and Brooks that were in the same $130-ish price range and I feel like these are better made then either of those. I do wish NB would upgrade their laces though. The laces are cheesy. Come on NB give us better laces.

I purchased these 860v12 shoes and a pair of 840v5 shoes in size 13-2E. I am returning the 860v12s because they simply do not fit my foot as well. They seem to have a slightly narrower overall profile and notice that the toe box of the 860v12s is smaller than the 840v5s. In other respects the shoes feel comfortable and *may* loosen up a bit with more wear but I would not be able to return them if I wore them for a full day out.

Mountain Teal color on the website appears to be a shade of turquoise-y green when in fact it is very much a blue.

If I was only reviewing for comfort and support on this excellent running shoe I would give 5 stars. The construction is sturdy. I use these shoes long after I retire them from running duty. Hikes, gardening, you name it. I've yet to have one fall apart on me. They are extremely comfortable, you can take then right out of the box and start running with them. They are flexible, but very well balanced and they respond well to the road.
My only complaint is that I really wish they had a loop on the back to help with putting them on and off. You pretty much have to grab the heal.

They didn't supply the correct length of shoelaces. So if you are hoping to lace the shoe up for proper stability and support, you will have to look elsewhere or purchase longer laces. How they overlooked this is astonishing! Their solution for me was to return the shoe!

It's not easy to find shoes in size 15N (or B), These fit my long skinny feet quite well. I got them the other day and have already put several city miles on them, with no ill effects on me or the shoes. Bad walking shoes have resulted in everything from shin splints to lower back aches for me. These perform very well. Good cushioning and flexibility with a snug but not tight fit and good support. For perspective on the size 15N thing, I'm 6'8" and weigh 210 lb. So far, I'm pleased with them.

Trying and buying my first pair of NB 860 has been a life changing experience for me because I now wear a pair of tennis shoes that gives my wide feet a chance to fit comfortably without compromising how snug it fits in the entire shoe. In the past, I would wear a pair of wide tennis shoes with my heel slipping out of the shoe when I walk or run. But no this time.
So after my first pair, I knew I wanted to get another pair of NB 860

These do not offer a lot of stability. I have to purchase Wide shoes that have a wide Toebox, so I am quite limited in styles.

I really like these shoes and wanted to keep them, but they cause overpronation (they make my feet to roll in). The shoe is very well made, fits true to size and width (14 Extra Wide), but something about the positioning of the arch support in this model makes my feet overpronate. If you've had issues with overpronation as well, I'd pass on these shoes or at least be aware that it might be an issue and they might not work out for you. For shoes that DO work for me, I've found the Men's New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 V12 in 14 X-Wide (4E) are the perfect recovery shoe. I'm also sticking with the Men's Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 14 X-Wide (4E)... it literally is my Go To Support shoe and my daily driver. If you read this and these other models strike a chord with you, definitely check them out as alternatives to the 860. I've been wearing Brooks Adrenaline since the GTS 21 after previously wearing the Ghost; I no longer wear the Ghost after discovering the better support of the Adrenaline and more cushion at the forefoot. The New Balance 1080s will also be staying in rotation from here on out — and I love that they have more color options! I'm no longer stuck wearing only White/Grey/Black in Brooks Extra Wide models.

Love the shoes. Wish the product had more colors to choose from for my size. I am a med student and I use these exclusively in the hospital. I may or may not have to add inserts one day for my flat-ish feet but so far after two weeks I've had less knee, hip, and back pain while standing around and waiting to get yelled at.

I have been wearing 860s for years for walking on artificial knees. I need a big toe box. These v.12 shoes in my "regular" size for v.10 and v.11 felt great the first days out walking on level ground. Then I did an uphill hike. Coming down, I felt my right big toe hit the rigid front of the shoe toebox. On a long hike it would be purple toenail time. I decided to use these just for local ,even walks and ordered a half size longer.
Comparing the 3 shoes, I confirmed the big toe is right at the rigid inner side of the v.12 usual size toe box. On my same size old v.11, it's a good fingerwidth away. With the half size larger v.12, my big toe is in about the same place as in the smaller v.11.
I also note they changed the soft toe box top of the v.11 to make a harder raised edge.
