Customer Reviews New Balance Fresh Foam 860v12

In my opinion, the NB 860 is a good shoe for training. Time will tell if they are durable and if the outer sole holds up reasonably well. I have about 80 miles on them - so far so good.

Comfortable and fit well.

I like the feel of the shoe, but as with all of my other New Balance shoes, I have to add a secondary arch support. Not sure why the just don't put a better arch support to begin with

Liked the v10 better. However these have more color selections

Handles pavement with ample and sensibly placed cushion as well as providing traction and stability for trails

I have many pairs of NB and this one is slightly different in that it seems that the instep is so high it is tilting my foot at an angle toward the outside of my foot. I know that everyone has a different foot and that all wearers will not experience the same thing but these are different from the other four pairs I currently have. I am going to change the inner sole and see if that helps. I would add that I do think these are an excellent value. I have a pair of Saucony and Brooks that were in the same $130-ish price range and I feel like these are better made then either of those. I do wish NB would upgrade their laces though. The laces are cheesy. Come on NB give us better laces.

If I was only reviewing for comfort and support on this excellent running shoe I would give 5 stars. The construction is sturdy. I use these shoes long after I retire them from running duty. Hikes, gardening, you name it. I've yet to have one fall apart on me. They are extremely comfortable, you can take then right out of the box and start running with them. They are flexible, but very well balanced and they respond well to the road. My only complaint is that I really wish they had a loop on the back to help with putting them on and off. You pretty much have to grab the heal.

Love the shoes. Wish the product had more colors to choose from for my size. I am a med student and I use these exclusively in the hospital. I may or may not have to add inserts one day for my flat-ish feet but so far after two weeks I've had less knee, hip, and back pain while standing around and waiting to get yelled at.

I need the x60 stability for street running and I need a wide size. Availability in the stores is very hit and miss so I was very pleased that I was able to get these shoes direct from NB with free shipping to boot! I've only been running with them for a little over a week so the jury is still out but so far so good. I have the stability and comfort that I need. As soon as I break them in a little more, I expect great things.

Liked the shape of the toe box vs. my earlier 880's. More room for my toes.

Coming from a the 860 v9, these feel great. That being said, sizing does appear to run small by about 1/2 a size, laces are shorter, and there is a stiffer heel collar. Not dealbreakers for me, though. Shipping was fast, though (MO to IL).
