I love Nee Balance I have a wide foot and a foot that has a severe injury. These shoes run small and are narrow in the toe box, I ordered extra wide which they are not

Omg, I love NB 840v5's! They are so comfortable and sharp looking! I have three pairs I'm rotating. My favorite ones are the black pair. I hope New Balance does not stop making them. The shoes are well padded, have good/comfortable arch support, laces are not too long and the shoes come out of the washer appearing brand spankin' new!

I bought these in size 7 double wide... and I'm a 6 wide. The larger size and width fits perfectly. I usually wear these type of sneakers with low cut athletic type of socks so the extra space is comfortable. I also remove the insoles and put in my green (wide) superfeet insoles for the arch support I need. The insole that comes with this shoe wasn't that bad but I'm addicted to my superfeet insoles. The laces are a little short, in my opinion, for the double wide width. I have them laced loosely so I can wear the slightly thicker socks and this leaves barely enough room to tie them and double knot them. I might change the laces out to a longer pair. These are great shoes and they are holding up well to daily morning wear so far.

Fit was great. Wide toe box which is important to me.

The fit was almost perfect, the toe area was tight. But finally I found the shoes that are comfortable to walk. Thank you for your wonderful service

This is my 4th pair and will be my last. They've changed the place of the trim and now they hurt my bunion. I'm disappointed.

size was to large for item but otherwise a great shoe!

These aren't as comfortable as the 840v4. The tongue feels stiffer, and the laces are thinner. But the comfort issue might be because I got a wide width to leave extra room for my bunions, at the suggestion of my podiatrist. The toe box is quite comfortable, but the shoes engulf my feet at the ankle - they come up very high, and the tongue and padding around the collar of the shoe bang against the tendons around my ankles and the top of my foot. That may be because I don't actually have wide feet - I just have bunions, and my feet are skinny. But I've worn them outdoors already, so can't return them.

I order a size 8 when I normally wear a size 7.

I've worn New Balance shoes for years and this is the first time I've found the toe box to be too narrow and uncomfortable. I hope this is passing trend.

Too short. Too wide. Looks wide (clunky) too.

I just think the toebox feels a little narrow, I would agree with that. My big toe is leaning in towards the others. I think it might be very comfortable otherwise. My heel is narrow so I don't know if ordering a wide width would help.

Best Shoes EVAH! The wide runs wide - which is exactly what I was looking for. It feels like walking on supported clouds. Such a cute, stylish shoe. The gray/blue is a perfect neutral color.

True to size. Feet felt 'normal' wearing them to walk -- not super bouncy, not feeling the road, not weirdly overstabilized -- and yet very well supported and without the leg tiredness or foot pain I have in less supportive shoes.

I ordered these to replace a pair of New Balance 940's which have been discontinued. I need a shoe for overpronaters, which was not in the description, but it looked like the heel was built that way. Thank goodness it is. I like the shoe and feel it will serve my needs. It is also a bit cuter in my opinion ;-). Wish Zappos would include information on their website to indicate shoes that help with this issue.

I have a very wide foot, the toes go basically straight across. I also have short feet, in other words, swim fin looking. I wore these shoes all day today for the first time and they were very comfortable! I did not experience any pain or burning sensations. I am so pleased; I am ordering another pair today for my trip next year, so I can continue wearing the ones from today. I have a 7 EE (my feet are a little shorter than 7, but have to order this size to fit).

I've previously ordered size 9 wide in New Balance. For this shoe I returned twice and ended up with a size 8 wide. Having to return was annoying but the shoe is generously wide so good news for those folks looking for wide shoes. I like the style and they're comfortable so far.

Excellent fit and size These shoes are a bit more roomy in the toe area. I have one food slightly longer than the other and this shoe was able to fit both feet. I am a size 9.

These run narrow. Beware.

great sneaker. Having so much problems finding one that fits a wide foot. This ticks all the boxes.

I suffer from peripheral neuropathy in both feet and it's difficult to find a shoe that fits well enough that I can be comfortable wearing them. New Balance, overall, seems to provide the best fit but some of their shoes are very uncomfortable, even though they are always the same, stated size.

Usually wear a 10D but needed 10.5D. Good support. Toe box has nice height. Best shoes NB ever made were the 860's! Why did they stop making them?
