Either my foot has grown a half a size or the new shoe is slightly smaller. I cannot tell but the next half size is perfect. I love the 840. This is my 5th pair over the years. I have wide feet.

Overall great shoes for my senior father

It’s hard to find a sneaker wide enough. They fit great. I wish they were available in white.

I have tried several other brands of shoes, but I always come back to New Balance. The 840v5 by far, fits the best. It has a deep toe box, which I need and is more roomier than other models. There was no break in period, and they fit perfect right out of the box. Last year, I had the 840v4, and honestly both fit perfectly. The are other more stylish shoes, but I am more concerned with how shoes fit, and New Balance is the best for me.

Nice width wide but not wide as 840v5 New Balance but still good shoe we are happy with it.

NB always does a good job on the shoes I buy. My only wish is that these "summer shoes" would be less squishy when a person walks in them. This means that the side construction would be a bit more firm. Otherwise, everything OK.

due to my wider forefoot, its difficult to find a well fitting shoe. generally i buy 4ee which these were and they worked well. so far, ive worn them only once and am satisfied.

With my custom ankle foot orthotic on the right, my shoes need to be roomy. I have been wearing NB 840 v4 for a couple years; they have been OK. This new upgrade 840 v5 seems even roomier. I tried two other New Balance models, both from their "Fresh Foam" lineup. The maximum width of the 4E sole on those two was 11 cm; the width of this NB 840v5 is 12 cm. From my limited experience, I believe the "Fresh Foam" products are skimpy, with measurably narrower width, and very flimsy insoles. I will avoid them. My other current choice would be the Brooks Ghost 14, which also is very roomy and well built.

Fit my 13EEEE feet perfectly, with great cushioning. I use a custom orthotic insert with it, no problem. Laces are just okay but do the job. Previously always wore ASICS shoes but I am switching to these.

I bought these sneakers for my husband who has a very wide foot and size 13….very difficult to find his size and width They fit well and are very comfortable…he is so happy
