Daily walking....

I've been wearing NB 840s for several years now. I have neutral feet re pronation, but very flat fee. I remove the insole and insert a custom orthotic. These shoes work great--max support and comfort. The only drawback is the incredibly quick wear and tear that my last 2 pairs have shown after light use. I run only 12 miles a week now (I'm old), but the outside heels and midsoles of NBs have worn away quickly, exposing the spongy subsole and greatly compromising the shoe's supportive design features. Could be me and my substandard running form. The same happened with a solid rep competitor shoe. Has NB altered how it applies the outer, hard rubber sole? Again, love the shoe for its support of my uber flat feet. Just wish it were more durable, like my old 840s!

Very comfortable shoes, fit true to size and look great! These are my third pair of the 840s and will continue to buy them for walking, jogging and running.

Mostly for all around every day wear

Very happy with these shoes. Changed to this style after reading the reviews. I was buying a more expensive New balance shoe that was wearing out sooner than I thought they should. Highly recommend them.

I use these for every day use and think they are great. I ordered 10.5 / 4E as my feet are quite wide. These have plenty of toebox room and will not pinch at all. Very impressed again as it is my second pair.

I hadn't been running consistently until I bought these shoes. I love the support for my pronation without being to beefy. The width is great for my foot and my weight displaces perfectly which keeps my feet from getting tired and allow me to go extra miles. Great shoe for heavier runners but not overly restrictive.

I buy a lot of pairs of shoes but have a real difficult time getting my feet into them with a decent fit. I give a great number of brand new shoes away to others. I have worn New Balance shoes for at least 15 years but cannot always find them, but I have found them online now and in a size (including 4E) that works for me.

These M840's are the 7th pair I've had since they were 882'S in 2007. They are consistently the same good fit and support. I don't even consider other brands. I'm a 9 EE and for some reason it's not an easy size to find. Keep up the good work! Dave in Regina.

Love the new 840v5 shoes! They feel much like the old 990s that gave me a great life and traveled with me far and wide around the planet! Support is good, cushioning is excellent, and fit is great. Can't wait to take these on my next trip! Wish there were more color selection.

This is my second pair of the 840v5 shoes. Fit great, and are the most comfortable New Balance I have ever had.
