I have been wearing Altras for a long time, and really love the foot shape. My problem has always been the soles. In almost every model, the soles have deep crevices that fill with mud easily and are difficult to clean. These are much better; grippy but without deep holes for stuff to get stuck in. I knocked off a star because the laces are SO SHORT: like "are these for baby shoes?" short. And they have special thin laces that will be difficult to replace.

I wear these shoes for daily use - errands, walking the dog, etc. I LOVE THEM. They're cushioned but super flexible. I do agree that the laces are too short. I would also add the that tongue is a little too long & thick. I have scar tissue in my right foot from countless sprains and, when the tongue slips to the outside of my foot - as it does constantly - it's quite uncomfortable. But, that's a me problem and, tongue aside, if every shoe felt like these shoes, I would be so happy.

Loved the white ones so much, I bought the black. I wear the white ones for casual and plan on wearing black ones more for sport/HIT class etc. Minus 1 star for too short laces. Had to buy replacements

I am hooked on Altra because of the wide toe box. I have three other pairs and this is my fourth pair. with the others I take a 10.5 but this one I originally ordered in a 10.5 and it was too big. The 10 fits great. I am not a big fan of the zero arch support so I put insoles in the shoes for the heels but these are the only shoes that don't cause my toes to get numb when I walk or exercise. I attribute that to the wide toe box (I order the original fit). And the Solstice XT 2 has enough support for doing training exercises like kickboxing and HIIT.
I'd also recommend:

Ended 2022 learning a lot about foot health and needed a new everyday shoe because my bunion tore open my traditional toe box sneakers. Decided to venture into the world of shoes with wider toe boxes and this shoe has been a great start. I am wearing a toe separator to straighten that big toe out a bit and it has felt comfortable in the shoe. I'm now looking into a pair for walking or light hiking.

I'm looking for a white, low-profile shoe with a wide toe box. These shoes have a nice flexible sole too. I don't love how "squishy" these shoes are, however.

The laces are too short, I had to skip holes so they could be tied. Inexcusible.

The white shoe does not resemble the color in the pictures. Yes it is white. But the colored part on the sole is actually a muted pink and the tag/loop on the back of the shoe is a light pink. To me it almost looks more like a tan/beige color in the pictures than pink which was much more appealing. It would be helpful to put the pink somewhere in the color description and use more accurate photos

I use these shoes for Pickleball because I cannot find a comfortable court shoe. However they are not good for my lateral moves, they don't go with me when I transition

I use the shoes for walking and playing pop tennis. The are very comfortable and provide enough lateral support, but the shoe laces are way too short and I can hardly tie them.

I've LOVED wearing these shoes. I've completed 3 trail runs and no triggers to the neuroma on my foot. Took one star away because I've had these shoes less than a month and sole that comes over toes is already peeling off/coming unglued sad but they feel great!

you prefer to tie your laces tightly. This shoe is very cushioned so if you are looking for a ground feeling zero drop shoe, this is NOT the shoe for you. I initially purchased these because I read that it provides great support for lateral movements and I believe that it does do that however the extra cushion made me more aware of trying to balance my foot so that it wouldn't shift off to the side hence the lateral foot support. I purchased these in black and they are nice looking but the overall functionality just isn't for me.

I like the XT2 more than the first edition. The changes to the design of the heal and outsole are great ! However, i still find them to be a bit squishy (especially for a gym shoe). i prefer to wear the Escalante RACER for this very reason. the Escalante felt squishy to me the first time i wore them; when i tried the Escalante RACER they worked great. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE NEXTXT GET THE SAME (stiffer/firmer) FOAM AS THE RACER :)

I like the added material on the toe box. I've put holes through the toe on old Altra models, so I like the reinforcement. I wear these for gym weightlifting workouts, and they are great. I do think the toe box is a tad narrow. Widen it up and they would be 5 stars for me.

I tried these for my CrossFit workouts and really like them! One of the others in our box got the black and I bought the white. We would LOVE to see more color choices! That would definitely entice others we work out with.

Sizing is consistent with other Altra shoes I have worn. I bought these for pickleball and they are comfortable and have more support than other running shoes I have.

Absolutely love the fit and comfort of these shoes. I'm in my third pair because the sides of the fabric rips within a handful of months every time. Wish they were more durable.

Used for everyday use. Used for the gym a few times until I realized I like barefoot shoes better for lifting. I got the black ones. They are comfortable but narrower than the originals I had and the side mesh ripped out after a few months of wear and the sole at the toe started to come apart. My first pair that were the version prior to these has yet to rip or come apart. I had just ordered another pair because my first ones were a little big. I'm afraid to get another pair because of the narrowness and the toe coming apart on these and Altras :( Hoping it's fixed. Because these were my favorite shoes.

I bought it for the wide toe box knowing I'd need to put my foot pads in it. The tongue is loose tho. So since my foot and the pad need more space the tongue shoes sock on either side. I work 12 hour shifts and haven't even worn them a shift because I feel it will feel bad and look weird.

I love my Altra running and hiking shoes, but the laces on these start so far back that they don't offer the lateral support I need for HIIT training. Unfortunately I it's past the 30 day trial period

These are the answer to my "foot journey" prayers. I have transitioned almost exclusively to zero drop and these are the first shoes that feel like a regular attractive sneaker but have all the benefits of a wide-enough toe box and zero drop. These have the least amount of cushion of any Altras that I have been able to find, which is ideal for me because I am trying to do less support in my shoes to strengthen my foot. I have the Escalante Racer which is the same drop and it says the same cushion height, but that one feels way more cushy, so I don't want to wear it unless I am running on the road. These are great for my gym time, walking around, daily wear, and they look good - not weird wide toe sneakers. (I don't usually mind the look, but sometimes I want to streamline a look). I own several Altras: LP Alpine, Lone Peak 8, Lone Peak 5, Torin Plush, Escalante Racer and these Solstice XT2 shoes (ranked widest toe-box to narrowest) - and as mentioned these are the narrowest of all of them. I still feel like the toe box is plenty wide, but if you have a "pizza foot" or a very wide foot, they may be too narrow for you. I LOVEthese shoes and am going to sell one of my other pairs so I can buy another of these.
