I don?t like this version of the Spartan pants as well as the previous version of Spartan pants I bought 3 years ago. This version is a little too restrictive in and around the ankles. Other than that, I like them.

Comfortable for northwest winter weather. I like the tapered fit and weight of the material plus the zips at the ankles. It feels like the sweats don't interfere with the run, like my old baggies did. I've only used them on a few runs to date. We'll see how they hold up over time.

I wasn't sure how warm or windproof these pants would be. They're warm enough. A little snug in the calf. Otherwise comfortable.

The material and design are good but they run VERY short. I?m usually a medium but the medium didn?t even come close to my ankles. I switched to a large so the length is okay but I need to draw the wait as tight as possible and it?s still loose in the waist.

Ordered several Spartan pants 4-5 yrs ago and they were size lg. They fit so well and held up so well that I ordered 3 more pairs sized lg recently. The new ones were like tights- very slim unlike the others from before. They should have a different name so that people wd know they are not the same pant as before.

Great design, functional, light enough to wear everyday but can hold up to the happy trails. I would suggest these to be made with 97% cotton however. The plastic is to slick inside and out. Over time plastic wears poorly and is less comfortable compared to cotton and with over thousands of miles of trial running is a 50/50 on wicking performance. Cotton give unparalleled comfort and fit in cooler conditions. Many runners complain that plastic slides down their hips because its so slick. I agree. For the hot days, who needs pants, where shorts.

Love the running pants. The best I have had so far. Nice fit. Kept me warm in the winter so I could run more. At the same time it feels very light and has minimal drag on the legs because it is very stretchy. Just one minor issue. Maybe I didn't tie the string correctly, the string at the waist feels a bit slippery. A few times, after the run, the tie became loose. It'd be nice if the string material has more friction, so they can be tightly tied and stay tied after long runs.

Another recent Brooks purchase I love. I found them to be rather roomy, exactly as the product description stated. Material is quality but there is something small but rigid in one of the seams that irritates my leg - this knocked the rating down a star. Great for layering and serve me without layers when temps are above freezing.

This is not the same Spartan pant I bought 5+ years ago. The fabric is thicker and stretchier. The fit is really tight in the calves. The former version was a much lighter fabric, perfect for the miserable heat in Texas. I practically lived in them! I'll probably keep this pair, but I won't buy another and I wouldn't recommend.

They are fine but not my new favorite. The elastic waistband keeps the pants up while running but feels a little loose. They are also not insulated and are better as a cool weather, not cold weather, pant.

I gave these a 3 star review?I have three pair of the Spartans. I bought one of the last pair available of the ?old style??those that fit more like slim cut pants. They are easily 5 star pants?but as I wear them all year long, it?s only a matter of time before they wear out?so I bought a pair of the ?new?ones?.and the ?Brooks gods?;who make such decisions, now make the Spartans more like skin tight capri pants. That might be fine for Jackie O out for a stroll at Hyannis?or Marilyn Monroe making eyes at Jackie?s husband?.but not for me. C?mon Brooks?.bring back the old version?.so I can ?go tell the Spartans? once again!

Bought 2 pair a year ago and my husband was very happy with them. Bought 2 more pair last month and the pant had changed. Same size was a smaller fit but most particularly a narrower leg.

Not really good for cold weather. Also, I?m 6? tall and the pant length is a bit short. Not crazy about pocket locations. Odd location and very small.

I have been looking into this type of running pant to try over the usual tights for cold season running. I really like the style of these pants, but they are too long in length (I'm 5'8", got Large) and don't feel the way I like being too long in length. If they were a 25" or 26" inseam it would be much better. I'm in-between a large and medium, but because of my runners legs/hips I usually go with a large. Hope this helps would-be buyers, or Brooks designers!

I generally love Brooks shoes and clothing, but this one was a disappointment. The XL size was recommended for me, and the waist is a little large-as expected. But the pants legs are way too short.

2 years ago I bought a pair of these in black, which I love, so I ordered the Navy when they went on sale in 2024. Same size. Problem is, the Navy are a lot tighter and feature a tapered fit. Not a fan of this version.

It's fine but a bit short and tight. I have two other size medium Brooks running pants that fit me well and this is just too small compared to them. I'm disappointed, and will only wear it when my others are in the wash.

If you?re gonna keep the name, keep the specs. Was 31? inseam. New Spartan 29? inseam and seems to be tighter. Just change the name. Or better yet: keep the old specs.

They were ok except they were right around the knees which made them feel somewhat uncomfortable and restrictive. As a result, I returned them.

Baggy and not small or extra small, no electronic device tight pocket so you have to run without. If you put anything in the pockets they will dangle tremendously. I have passed it on to wife since its proportions are more feminine.

These pants have definitely changed from their previous version. The material is not as soft as it once was and the fit is tighter and shorter. Will be returning.
