This is the best pair of running shoes that I've ever owned. I ordered my size, but it didn't fit right. The return was effortless. I got another one at 9.5, one size larger than my Nike or Asics. After more than two months of putting miles into this Revel, I'm happy with switching to Brooksno more knee and ankle pain. My heart health is also improved, per my cardiologist. Life doesn't suck with Brooks!

These are an excellent shoe that I highly recommend for anyone running medium distances with a mix of trail and road. I ran these daily for around 4 months, in a mix of rocky trails with steep inclines as well as smooth paved roads. The energize foam really held up well and provided a lot of rebound with each step. I did notice after 200 miles the initial spring was gone and I began to feel more impact with each step. At 300 almost all springiness was gone. The upper was outstanding, my legs and feet tend to sweat in other shoes but these provided great airflow, I didn't have a single blister while wearing these. I did notice some wear near the toes that could be due to rough trails, but overall they are still in great shape. The treads were outstanding and absolutely held up to anything I could throw at them, providing grip even in mossy rock. The treads eventually wore down a bit near the mid section around 150 miles is when is was most evident. If I was to change with shoe I'd add more cushion for longer distances and more durable material near the ankle were I wore away the materials. Overall: This shoe is a great value and something I would buy again. They provided a nice about of rebound with each step and optimal airflow with little wear to the shoe itself.

The Revel 5 has been one of my all-time favorite running shoes. One that I wish you wouldn't change. It's disappointing to see it transition to a 10mm drop instead of the 8mm. The arsenal of Brooks shoes in the 10-12mm range is very strong, why push another shoe up there? The Revel is just such a solid all-around for easy days, tempo, and speed - it checks all the boxes. I'm not sure what consumer feedback prompted the change to 10mm, but it seems unnecessary as you've already got similar style shoes in that range. I'm bummed and picking up as many Revel 5s as I can before they disappear. Please consider developing a stronger shoe in the 8mm range or bringing the Revel 7 back down. It was better down there!

I like these a lot and they make me want to continue using Brooks shoes. I'm just getting into running, but even as walking shoes they feel like they can get me where I need to go. Shout out to shoes for all the adventures they allow us.

A very good shoe, but the tongue was a bit narrow, and I needed to get longer laces too. I have a wider foot, and bought another shoe in a 2E width.

I have been a runner now for about 24 years and brooks is very reliable and fits my feet great. I usually run a shoe down until it's worn out and then get a new pair. I went from glycerine last time which lasted me about 1.5 years at ~10-20 miles/week and then tried the revel 5, attracted by how lightweight and neutral (and affordable) it was. I've been in them for 4 months now - all road running on pavement - and am going to get a new/different pair already. They just have less cushion than previous shoes I've had and although lightweight and very neutral and reasonably comfortable, feel a bit cheap and just not enough cushion. They're just not that much fun to run in, bottom line. The sole is very flat with very little spring and the upper doesn't hug my feet well enough so my feet very slightly slide around in the shoe. I wear slightly thicker socks to avoid this but it is HOT where I'm running right now so would prefer lightest sock possible! Anyway, wouldn't get these again, but will happily run in them until my new pair arrives. Just a tad disappointed but not devastated. If I was 20 years old again, I'm sure I wouldn't notice any difference!

Ordered 1/2 size larger than my snug fitting merrells, these are good on the length but a bit narrow in width. They broke in over time so I decided to keep them. The tread will wear out soon so I'll purchase wide versions in the future.

Brooks makes great uppers, soft and comfy. Flat laces are great and don’t need to be double knotted. Shoe is cushioned but not too thick. Feels like a smaller drop (more even heel to toe) than most of my running shoes but I like it. Nice and lightweight.

Like other Brooks Revel shoes I have had, the shoes are sturdy and snug on my feet. I am not a fan of the shoe laces as they seem a little thin and flimsy. Over all, the Brooks Revel line can be a good everyday shoe for us folks who are not runners but the tightness might be an issue for some.
