The heel is loose, and thus the inside is wearing out at the Achilles tendon.

LOVE my Brooks 14's as I did my 12's; grippy, comfortable and stable ~ Put about 100-120 miles per month on them in medium distance runs (6 ~10 miles) ~ HATE the durability; within the first month, began wearing through the inner heel lining of both shoes ~ At about 200 miles, tread is gone from the mid-foot forward ~ Brooks, there's a problem here as others are voicing similar complaints ~ Love your shoes, but FIX THIS!

These shoes are comfortable and I’ve been getting the Ghosts for at least 5 iterations now. I’ve had these shoes for a while and they are comfortable. My only issue with this iteration (14) is the rubber portion of the sole has been separating from the rest of the shoe so fast. It started on me within the first month. It’s been three months and the separation just keeps getting worse. A bit of a disappointment considering the price of these.

I have been running with versions of the Brooks Ghost for many years with much happiness. For whatever reason, the Ghost 14 was immediately painful in both of my knees, running or walking. I hoped that they would adapt to my feet so I gave it time but then gave up and found a Brooks outlet where they were still selling the 13 version and bought a bunch of them (the salesperson there said other customers of the 14 noted similar issues to ones I had with the 14). Sad to say that I will have go give up on the Ghost.

I've running in the Ghost since the first generation. There have been some changes in the years that had no effect on me. This Ghost 14 looks great however the shoe is a bit tighter than the 13 and it was uncomfortable. I thought maybe it would stretch out but none of the previous Ghosts were uncomfortable from the beginning, this is the first Ghost I have returned.

Very disappointed - interior heel area wore out only after 200 miles unlike prior Brooks Ghost shoes I've had with 300 miles. Clearly quality control is inferior. I like Brooks but will think twice before purchasing again.

Pilling at the heels after a couple of miles, probably one of the quickest pairs of shoes to show wear I’ve ever owned. These are stylish, and feel really good for packing on the miles. I initially was just going to walk this evening, and for a bit over a mile (I’m really into the geolocation game Coin Hunt World, so I was just going to hit my vaults for the trivia), but these felt great after my nearly worn through pair of sketchers go walk (cushioning is nearly worn through everywhere). So I opted for a nearly twice the distance route for a couple of extra points, and a fair bit more hill. These did great for grip, excellent cushioning, and ran a bit warm (which, given the surprise hail was rather nice). Still, showing that sort of wear on a lighter outing promises to wear through much too quickly for the price point. After one walk I shouldn’t see it on the inside.
