Beware these boots will disappoint you if you're an avid hiker. I've been a loyal Hoka customer for several years now and have absolutely fallen in love with the brand and I think that's why I was so disappointed with these hiking boots. First off, these boots are extremely uncomfortable. They rub my feet in all the wrong places no matter how long I wear them. I tried to give them a month of breaking in but every time I put them on they hurt more. The second time I put them on one of the little lace loops completely fell off which really was the final straw for me. Sure, I could stick it back in but it comes out again and again. It's so super disappointing to pay upwards of $170 for boots that are broken on the second wear. This is the second pair of Hoka hiking shoes I've had to send back and I'm just convinced the brand needs to stick with running/walking and not enter into the hiking/trail market at all.

Very dissatisfied with this purchase. This shoe is extremely hard to get your foot into. I finally had to stop wearing them because of the bruises from foot entry into shoe and the pressure on upper ankle. Terrible design flaw. I have purchased many Hokas and have been very pleased up to this point.

I have bought several pairs of Hoka previously. Unfortunately, this shoe, although identical in size to my previous pairs, was sloppy in its fit and failed to meet my performance expectations.

My first HOKA shoes. The front of the outsole is slightly separated after first hike. The reseller says it will take a month for repair. Terrible experience and service.

If you want a sponge shoe That you roll your ankles in all the time and get hocus. If you want to wear an ankle brace with the shoes then they're not too bad.

The second from the top lace hook rubs right on my ankle bone on both feet. I was in terrible pain after just a couple of hours of wearing.

I bought these because I like my Bondi 7's.
The cushion on these is great as advertised BUT I bought them because of the waterproof feature GORETEX. First trip was to Scotland and Ireland in June of 2022 where we got caught in some heavy rains and muddy trails. Needless to say, my right foot got soaked from every angle. Not sure of the shoe is defective but not impressed. Have NEVER had a problem with my Columbia OutDry shoes - was looking for more cushioning so tried these. Not again.

The upper lace hook just fell off within a few months of purchase, effectively rendering the boots unusable

Had my backorder for my replacement black Hoka Sky Kaha mid-length hikers cancelled due to supply issues I presume. I have seven pairs of Hoka One One's that I wear (3 Bondi X, 2 Bondi, 1 Sky Kaha, 1 Hoka Recovery).
After serving 25 years in the Marine Corps, my back is not as sturdy as it used to be and I have found that if I want to maintain any type of physical fitness (jogging, hiking, working the land) I have to wear the plush/neutral type of shoes that Hoka excels in providing.
I ordered the Anacapa mid's as a replacement for my Sky Kaha's. They were a fantastic disappointment. No plush feel and immediate felt pressure on my lower back standing up in them. They look and feel "chunky" and the material on the upper feels thin and cheap-not saying its cheap-but it feels that way.
I wore them around the house and within an hour I had to take them off. After wearing military boots for 25 years, I can say they all felt better than the Anacapa mids.
I love my Hola's-But definitely to these.

The shoes were too skinny, narrow and long. Even if I took the insole out they were still too narrow. Had to return.

I tried this on in store to replace my old tor ultras. Immediately they were too narrow in the front. I eventually ended up going two full sizes up to get the width right but then the heel was loose in the back. It's a bummer to see hoka stray away from their wide toe box designs, especially without offering a wide version of this shoe.
I loved everything else about the fit and design and weight of the shoe by the way and probably would've bought this one as I am a big fan of hoka.

Unfortunately I had to return my Anacapa's. They had what I can describe as an issue with stitching that was pressing on the inside of my ankle. The pain was intolerable and for that reason they were sent back without any issue for a full refund.

I broke my ankle and the doctor recommended Hoka High tops shoes. I purchased them, this is what I don't like about them, they are too hard to get on, they always come untied. They are called Gor-Tex vibram. I wish I would have got the Hoka work shoe instead. I still am not back to work yet,but I fear tripping because the laces come untied so much.

The way the hooks that hold the laces are attached to the boot make it extremely uncomfortable to wear. Creates enormous pressure point on the top of your foot. Could not even wear them 2 minutes with out massive pain

These shoes were comfortable everywhere except the top of the toes. The top of the shoe came down and blistered the top of my toes.
