Lightweight, fit great. No arch support and cushioning is nothing like their running shoe. Will need inserts. Another fiddy bucks.

This is a very nice shoe and I am for the most part happy with my purchase. I will comment that after seeing these in person while on vacation in Estes Park CO. I was a bit surprised with the pair of shoes I received. It might be in my mind but there appears to be a difference in the material quality used between those I saw in store and those I received.
So while happy with the shoe I wonder if I should have gone with the in-store purchase that would not have put doubt in minfd.

these were a little too narrow in the toe bed, and need to order a mens boot instead, but loved the overall look. Arch support was not as good as the Hoka Kaha, so will spend the extra $$ on upgrading to Kaha. Unfortunately, Zappos was out of the mens size I needed, so will go directly to Hoka.

Only reason I rated 4 stars is because the shoe feels a little narrow, even after I specifically ordered a wide shoe. Other than that, excellent product.

These boots are extremely comfortable. The cushioning and weight are extremely comfortable. I have never had a pair of boots this lightweight and this comfortable. I hike Adirondack high peaks with these and so far have done 10 peaks with the Anacapa. This is about 60 miles in distance and 25000 feet of elevation gain total. These boots provide a lot of suspension when coming down from large boulders which helps my knees as well. I find that the cushion does not interfere with precise footing which might be because these fit me very well.
These boots lose a half star because where the midsole comes into contact with the ground (where the tread isnt) it shreds to pieces. To me it would be worth it to use a very thin amount of the treads rubber to cover this area.
All in all I have had these boots for one month and am very happy with the performance. I would like to get at least 600 miles out of them. If I can do that I would definitely buy these again. If not I will consider other options. P.S. I do own another pair of Hoka running shoes

Sixth or seventh pair of Hoka after being a Keen diehard. Been happy mostly with comfort and durability. This recent pair the eyelets seem tiny and the loops are sharp when tightening the laces. The loops kept cutting into the laces and stripping them. Bought a new pair of laces and had difficulty pulling laces through. Boots about a month old on this pair

Everyday wear. Comfortable and supporting. The one thing I didn't care for is the eyelets. They are too tight to speed lace and it's an effort to snap string into the hook.

I work in Law Enforcement. The Hoka Kaha boot was the perfect substitute for standard police boots (discontinued product). The Hoka Anacapa boot is a close second. VERY Comfortable fit. Gore Tex can be difficult to clean (in our job the boots need to stay dark black). Bottom Line - My feet feel great! This boot kept me from looking to Under Armor or 5.11 for comfortable boots. I love that I can keep coming back to Hoka.

I need to leave the top eyelets unlaced because the 2nd from top eyelet irritates may Ankle.

The shoe is more narrow than my other Hokas. So I was a little bummed about that. I think I'll be sticking with the other model next time.

Have bought the Kaha GTX several times and works great for landscaping. It holds up as well as any work boot out there. The Kaha is Plush as compared to this Anacapa, which is better. The current problem with the Kaha is that you only have it in Blue. Need browns, black, or darker colors.

I love these shoes. I wear them for work everyday. There's only one thing I don't like. The lace's are kind of a pain, especially in the morning when I'm half asleep
Regular eyelets would be much better.

I use for work. They are waterproof but they advertise as a wider shoe, but not wide enough. I state later that I would recommend the shoe. But, only if they had regular size feet and not wide.

The material overlaps right on the ankle bone and causes a pressure point.

Love the cushy concept of these hiking boots, my second pair. They come unglued around the toe shield. This current pair similar design except I didn't realize they have a gastly orange color trim which I hate, and the laces are too short and cheap quality - not cool for overpriced boots.

I got the size that fits the rest of my Hokas but this runs a bit large. Overall very good as far as design and dealing with the elements .

These are great. They are comfortable and keep my feet dry no complaints there at all. They fit nice and snug and lace up easily. The only negative I have so far after 3 months with these is the tread wearing quickly. I rotate my shoes for work and only wear these every other or every other two days and the bottoms are almost bald.

I want to give these boots 5 stars as lightweight, mid-height, day hikers! The midsole on these boots rocks! I can honestly say that I have never stepped foot in a boot with a more comfortable midsole. It is soft and cushioned below your foot but does not feel unstable. I like the grip on the outsole and while I agree that the exposed foam will likely break down a bit, I don't think it's going to significantly shorten the life of the boot. I like the heel counter and I find the boot easy to get on and off. The waterproofing is great and the material is light enough that it breaths well.
However, there are two issues with this boot that keep it from being 100% great.
1. There is too much material over the toes of the boot which causes some bunching when you lace them tight. The material is flexible enough that I haven't noticed this causing hot spots, it is just more of a poor aesthetic.
2. The major concern that I have with this boot is the total lack of padding in the tongue. This combined with the round thin laces and the hard lace hooks at the top of the eyelet chain leads to a lot of pressure and discomfort on the front of your ankle, especially if you try and lace the boot tight. A good thick pair of socks helps some and you can play with the lace tightness to alleviate some of this. However, the tongue on this thing is simply way under-padded!
I am going to try and replace the laces with a flat lace and see if this helps but I am not sure if these will work as well with the lace hooks.
This tongue issue is so unfortunate because outside of this the boot would have been perfect.

Love the boots! Super comfortable. They are difficult to lace up- you have to sit down and take your time so they aren't easy to slip on and they are bulky for walking around inside-think moon boot. The soles don't look like they will last but the comfort overrides everything.

Ordered wide, yet toe box is not really wide nor large. Morton's Neuroma issue so these won't work without squeezing toes. Returned and keeping the Toa GTX. Blue color was great looking.
