I have never had to purchase a shoe in wide, but I certainly did for this shoe and even in the wide it was still killing my foot while wearing it. No idea what is wrong with this shoe.

Last pair of Hoka this family of 6 runners will ever purchase. First off - and since I'm in a good mood I'll be generous and say Hoka customer service is pathetic at best. Shoes do not fit anything like my last pair of Clifton 8s from the same model year. Not worth the headache and loss of brain cells to attempt to exchange these. See comment about customer service above, if you want to know why.

If I had known about the web (fake sock) I would never have purchased. Never worn and looking for information on how to return

I bought this shoe for the extra width. The left shoe was fine, but the instep of the right shoe was too narrow or improperly constructed and was very uncomfortable. I'd heard great things about this shoe but was disappointed.

Literally three pair of Clifton 8 shoes were defective. One pair had the arch support much too firm and intrusive, causing pain, and two pair were just too tight in the forefoot, one shoe out of one pair actually so tight I could barely get my foot in. And I do not have wide feet. I just finally gave up on returning for exchange, and threw them in the donations bin at local thrift store. I have one pair of Clifton 8 already that fit and feel perfect. Guess maybe that pair is the outlier.

I've run in Hokas since the Clifton 2. This is by far the worst for 2 reasons. 1) The sole wears out after lest than 250 miles (I got about 450 from my 7s, 6s, and 5s.). 2) It fits slightly wider resulting in peroneal tendonitis. I've hunted down a pair of 7s to run in til the 9s come out. Here's hoping they are better!

I bought a pair of Clifton 8s full price for normal, everyday use because I have SI joint issues. I'm 5'9" and weigh 150lb and used the shoes at work (a hospital) and for brief walks. They worked great at first and then completely wore out within 4 months and 2 weeks, causing significantly worse pain that before I started. I sent the pair back to Hoka to see if there was a manufacturer's defect. I had bought the Bondi 8 to try while I waiting to see if they would give me a credit or send me a new pair. The claim center denied my claim and sent me the worn out pair back. These had a year warranty and wore out in less than half that time with light use.. I took the Bondi 8s I bought back and will never buy another pair of Hoka shoes.

I bought a pair of Hoka Clifton 8's after getting a reccomendation from a family member. I needed a good pair of shoes to help with a back injury. This was my first purchase from Hoka. After getting the shoes and wearing them for a few weeks, they started to squeak every time I took a step. Sounds like a minor problem, right? So I tried to ignore it and continued to wear the shoes. The noise was so audible that other people around me noticed. My family members frequently commented on it. If you've ever seen the Aristocats, imagine the villain, Edgar, wearing a pair of Hokas. That's what I sound like when I walk in these shoes. I chatted with a representative online and she told me I could send the shoes in to be evaluated by the returns department, but I should have no trouble getting a credit for the Hoka website equal to what I paid for the shoes. I sent the shoes in, and yesterday I recieved the package contianing my shoes, back in the mail with a letter inside saying the warranty period on the product has expired. Supposedly the warranty is good for one year from the date you purchased the shoes. I bought mine in May. So I called the customer service number. While the representative was nice and attempted to help me, she could not tell my why my shoes weren't accepted as a return, and she could not get me any sort of refund or exchange. These are obviously a defective product, but Hoka will not honor their warranty or return guarantees. It's a big deal for me to spend this much money on a pair of shoes, and now I'm also out the cost of sending the shoes back to the returns department. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company, and their system is designed to make you fail when you attempt to get a refund or exchange. I am so angry and disappointed by Hoka. I will not be purchasing anything else from them, and I will continue to warn others about purchasing from them as well. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Have never owned or worn Hoka before but I decided on this pair of wide Clifton's after reading 100s of reviews. I was 2 months out of training for a marathon and pulled the trigger. I just finished my marathon and put in about 150 miles on these, and my feet never felt comfortable. My marathon experience was a bit of a nightmare. My right foot supinates, and by mile 18, my right foot was wrecked. would love to give Hoka another shot but will probably go back to Nike.

Had hopes the toe box would be wide enough but even with the 2E and with a cold foot the toe box is too tight. With Altras catering more to the constrained toe box design now while previously had a comfortable one leaves me with Newtons and Zeros for me to run with a minimal drop and wide toe box. I run anything from half marathons to Ultras. Not looking for a walking shoe.

I've been big fan of hoka since 2020 and have many pairs but this time I revived incorrect sizing and it hurts my feet. All the previous pairs didn't need any break in but hill size lowered than usual and it hurts my hills.

I don't like the design on the shoe with a webbing and the narrow midfoot it should be wide throughout the whole foot previously I purchased New balance wide and they fit fine these shoes fit way too tight. One shoe impeded my circulation in my right foot so I'm not happy You should have better shoe selection

Use this shoe to walk every day. 1st time trying "Clifton". Past shoes have all been "Bondi" Purchased in March and shoe sole and inside heel lining are showing, in my opinion, excessive wear.

I am beyond disappointed in this brand. I bought two pair of these Hokas, a new brand for us, on July 11th 2022. My wife and I were excited to try these as we'd heard so much about the brand. They were garbage in less than 90 days. We wear them almost daily. I walk my dog every morning less than .25 miles. We hike on some weekends less than 2 miles. We are full time RVers that work full time as IT professionals so we spend a good amount of time sitting in our shoes... These started to weaken on the outside of the shoe so my foot was always unstable in it. I'd broken my ankle less than a year ago so stability in a walking shoe was important for me. We're not small people. My wife and I are tall and a little fluffy. We're active but not over the top. I say that to say, for $300 for these shoes, I'd expect them to last longer than 60 days and some change. Hoka you should be ashamed of yourself. I actually thought maybe these were knock offs they fell apart so fast. Too bad. I literally just lit that $300 on ?. So, we went to a shoe store here in Port Angeles WA and the guy at the store said these shoes are just known break down like this. Scandelous.

Use to wearing Brooks Glycerin and ASICS Nimbus. Cliftons are very comfortable but extremely tight, if I buy again it'll be a wide.

These shoes are no Bueno. I love Hokas, but these shoes were at least a half size too small and I ordered a 2E and usually those will do, but they felt so snug on every aspect of my foot. I didn't even bother trying another size, I'm going to search for another wider shoe.
