I tend to go with 4E sizes because of my wider feet. I got these in 9.5 which is my normal size but Hoka only has a EE size. This was a little tight. Overall a nice shoe, good cushion and light. Biggest complaint for me and the reason I returned this and the 10 was the tongue. my foot gets irritated by the stitching where the tongue is attached to the shoe. I tend to have the same issue with more expensive shoes, so likely its a better way to manufacture them. This may or may not be a concern for you but its a deal breaker for me.

I decided on these shoes as they are both vegan and wide and came highly recommended but after trying to break them in, I have to say the wide option is still too narrow. The heal and toe box fit well but they still squeeze the middle of my foot making it uncomfortable to wear day to day. There is a lot of cushion and the weight is a nice change from older hiking style shoes but I do not see myself running in them for very long or wearing them throughout the day which is a let down as they were not cheap.

Dont like the tung attachment, it is hard to get on as a result. Can't expand / open the shoe wide enough to easily slide your foot into the shoe. Also miss having a loop in the heel to pull the shoe on with.

I've run in these shoes for two months now doing at least 3 miles 5x per week. Previously, I ran in Brooks Addictions for two years and Adrenalines for four. Switching was easy after seeing people recommend Hoka. After the break in I am happy with the fit and the amount of spring, cushion, and firmness in the heel and balls of my feet. These are a perfect fit for me in the 12.5 size. My two complaints are this: you have to be careful with how you tie them so you don't get slippage and it may cause you to feel like you are tying them too tight after break-in AND these shoes have no traction on the road if it is even moderately damp. I generally only run on asphalt and if it has rained at any point recently the shoes will not have any grip.

Due to one of my feet being wider than the other I have been buying a variety of wide shoes for the last 10-15 years that have been classified as W(ide), 2E & 4E as well as some of the Skechers "Relaxed Fit" models and have never had a fit/comfort issue. I wore my new (& first) Hoka's inside the house while working from home for a few days to make sure I liked them. I finally decided that I made the right choice. I have also had some neighborhood dog walks of 1-2 miles as well as 4-5 treadmill walks of 2+ miles. This past week my wife & I did a mini-vacation with quite a bit of walking. For some reason, now my wider foot feels really "squeezed" inside the shoe despite it being colder weather when feet typically contract.

I have been a fan of Cliftons since the 5. Each update has been an improvement...except for the 8. I found that the 8 gives me more friction across my forefoot than the earlier Clifton versions. I have had to tape my forefoot to prevent blisters. I have tried to loosen the toe box shoe strings, as well as tighten them, to no avail.

I decided to give the Clifton 8's a try after using the Bondi 7's. The Clifton 8's are very lightweight, very comfortable but not meant to run passed a half marathon. Just ran a full marathon with them but I felt like the cushion faded away. I did three practice runs of 6 miles to break them in leading to the marathon and felt very confident. Passed mile 13 I began to feel the pounding on the feet. Never had that issue with Bondi 7's. I ran over 400 miles on my Bondi 7's and the cushion still there. I will be switching back to the Bondi 7's. I would like to return these but might just keep them for my easy short runs.

Great fit and comfortable. I was questioning if there was enough cushioning for the level of comfort I wanted. Given that I am 74, the body does not tolerate walking and being on my feet like I could earlier in my life. I ordered a pair of Bondi 8's and that confirmed my decision. The Clifton was returned (thank you Hoka for an outstanding return policy,) and an additional pair of Bondi 8's were ordered. It was just at the right time to order the Castlerock/Fiesta new color that just dropped.

Love the shoes, the style and comfort. However they squeak horribly to the point of embarrassment. I took the insoles out and they still squeak. I prefer peace and quiet.

Not sure if I needed wide or extra wide. They do feel a little snug. At least one foot feels snug... Not sure if they're supposed to be broke in

The shoe looks great, fit great, but the arch was way too high I would’ve gotten blisters it was so high.

I use these shoes for all my recovery and long runs. Because these do not have much energy return, it feels very squishy (which is not a bad thing) especially if you pick up the pace. My biggest complaint is the durability of the outsole. After only 43 miles, the lateral side of the heel is already badly worn. I cannot see how these shoes can last beyond 150 miles which is unacceptable especially given its price. If Hoka can address this issue I would give them 5 stars for a great recovery shoe.

Love the shoes, but came with Arahi inserts. Don’t know if it matters, but bought a different color combo two weeks ago and had different inserts? I assume someone swapped out the inserts, but don’t know if I should care. Went out and bought some superfeet inserts, so problem solved.

Not sure the fit is for me. I could use more support at front of foot. Enjoy the softness of foot smoke.

I use the shoes daily for getting around. Shoes are wonderful. Delivery was a disaster. Lesson: Always shop the store - no ordering from Hoka.

HOKA makes great shoes, but I can’t recommend you purchasing without trying them on first. I’ve been a D width my whole life so when I read a review that these might be slightly narrow, I ordered the EE width. Got the yesterday and still too narrow. Not sure how HOKA is sizing these but for running shoes where your toes need room to splay, These are a fail unless you have narrow feet.

The Clifton8 is a great running shoe. I received shoes that had been returned with soles a little dirty. I would have returned them if not for the $40 dollar coupon.

Felt tight the first 50 miles but they are better. The toe boy is still not wide enough but the cushion of the shoe has helped alleviate the foot pain I had after a long run. May return if I still have time for a different Hoka shoe that was recommended by their app.
