I have heard a lot of good things about Hoka’s for running. So, I thought I would give them a try as my next pair of running shoes. Unfortunately, they did not work out for me. my foot is on the wider side and am a pretty solid 8.5 in tennis shoes. I decided to wear these around the house right when I got them, and after wearing them an hour or two my feet were already hurting (around the middle of my foot). I decided to return them after that. I didn’t even try to run in them since just walking around and standing was uncomfortable. It should be noted that I have tried (and disliked) On’s because they make my toes numb during a run. However, my running shoe of choice are Brooks (which is what I swapped these Hoka’s for).

I liked the shoes and normally wear a 7wide. My foot hangs over the side of the shoe. I have odd feet. The extra wide would slip up and down on my ankle.

After reading so many rave reviews about this brand I really wanted to love these shoes. I normally wear a size 9 in street shoes and size 9.5 in running shoes but these Hokas run large so a size 9 was the right fit. Unfortunately these did not work for my feet. They had a stiff feel throughout the upper, my heels slipped and rubbed, and the cushioning was not the "walking on clouds" experience I expected. I tried this Clifton 8 version as well as the Clifton 7 (which ran too narrow and long with an odd fit and feel). Maybe I need to try more styles before I give up on this brand but for now I'm sticking with Brooks and Nike.

The shoe ran too wide for me.

Bought 2 pairs of Hokas and both caused heel pain which I've never had before.

Shoe feels like it would be VERY comfortable if it wasn't SO narrow and I ordered a wide.

I returned these because they were too narrow in the toe box for me. I have unusually wide toes, however. On a Brannock device my feet are a 4.5 H. (Seriously.) Since that size does not actually exist in nature, I generally buy 6 Wides or WW, and those tend to do ok, even though they are too long for me. The Clifton 8, however, did not. They were cute, though. I liked the Outer Space/Atlantis colors. I can't really say what the quality was because they were on my feet for about 5 seconds max.

These are nice but they still let my foot roll in and cause pain in my knees.

Felt small. Much more narrower than bonding 7.will try again with a wide.

VERY NICE SHOE BUT TOO BIG IN WIDTH AND LENGTH. ALSO WHEN I USED MY CUSTOM ORTHOTICS THE SHOES SQUEEKED VERY LOUDLY AND THEY WERE STILL TOO BIG FOR ME. I HAD TO RETURN THEM

I think there are to prices for what the are

I stand all day for work and after 5-6 hours I finish with foot/heel pain. I thought the cushy sole from Hoka would alleviate those symptoms (allbirds have worked in the past), but in the days I wore the shoes to work I felt no change in the pain. I also tried running in them, and the thickness of the sole makes it more challenging to run than normal. Waste of money IMO.

Didn’t seem to have near the support advertised

Really wanted to like this shoe for walking several miles each day on pavement in my neighborhood. For some reason the right shoe was very uncomfortable in the arch area. Tried different inserts etc, and just HURT. Maybe my 70+ year old feet. Left foot felt GREAT.
