Ordered my usual size 8 1/2 wide but right foot felt tight in the shoe. Also, felt too narrow in width. I am hard to fit.

These were recommended by my physician. Unfortunately, the fit was a little snug to wear with socks. I am a park guide for an animal rehabilitation center and walk close to 10,000++ steps and needed a shoe that would not make my feet feel "on fire". I loved the style, but the fit was a bit tight to wear with socks. Even though I don't have a wide foot, I feel I would need to check for something, such as a croc that would be stylish & airy.
I'd also recommend:
I will be looking at other wider shoes, such as Croc's or Birkenstock

My first pair of HOKA's so I wasn't sure how the size would run. I ordered two different sizes from two different vendors and the size 10 womens was too small in the toe area. It seems to run short. Loved the color but will wait for the larger size to arrive.

The shoe's would have been comfortable if the arch area of the wasn't rubbing/digging into the side of my feet. Every other area of the shoes fit just fine. They also don't seem to breath very well even with very thin socks on.

Love the soft cushion and look, but they're not wide enough for my wide foot.

I love my Hoka Arahi and Bondi shoes, but these are not for (even moderate) pronators) — could feel my ankles leaning in as soon as I stood up in them. Also the seem slightly narrower in the forefoot, but I can't be sure of that.

Support seemed adequate but not as comfortable as other shoes like it I’ve owned.

I felt these tan very narrow and after I get going walking it caused a lot of pain. I am returning these for that reason. I don’t have wide feet just regular with a high arch. I normally wear aasics but gave these a try. I wear a regular in aasics also but I size up half a size to an 8. I also ordered an 8 in hokas.

I wanted to love these but they just did not work for me. The inside of the shoe rubbed against the inside of my foot near my lower ankle. I tried walking in them for multiple days but they are too uncomfortable for me to keep.

Didn't take long to wear out. Not a good shoe for flat feet.

The 8s are still comfy but not as comfortable as my 7s were. The place the arch hits is slightly different and I don't like it as much.

I liked the style, the color, & overall appearance. However, they were too large so I had to return them and ordered a smaller size

This is the second pair of the Atlantis color Hoka Clifton 8 that I've ordered and the toe box of the right sneaker is larger than the left. Must be an defect in the entire batch. I can tell they would be comfortable and the left shoe fits perfectly. Color options for some of them could be better.

The shoe was cute but felt too narrow. I originally ordered an 8 1/2 and they felt too big so I ordered the 8 and they felt too narrow. I usually wear an 8 or an 8 1/2. I might have done well with an 8 wide but this pair did not work. The insert felt like it was cutting into my foot. I will continue my search for a comfortable pair of sneakers!

Bought these for long runs in marathon training as sales person at Hoka store told me that a lot of people use them for longer runs. Tried it on in store in a larger size for testing of cushioning and they seemed comfy. However, my true size arrived and they not only made my feet look huge but my feet also swim around in them. I am true size 8 with narrow to medium width feet. Tried lacing them tighter for better fit but that made my feet numb and my feet still slid around such that the shoes gave me hot spots. Had to return. I ended up buying the rocket X which is much narrower, especially in the toe box. Really evident when I compared the shoes side by side.

Bought these for marathon training because of many recommendations that this is a good long run shoe. The cushioning is very good as to be expected with this brand and my knees are happy when running in this shoe. However my feet hurt!! This particular style is way too wide for my size 8 feet. My foot width is narrow to medium. I had to lace them tightly to try to keep my feet from sliding around all over the place. As a result of the sliding, I have hot spots that make me Dread putting on this shoe and the bottoms
Of my feet get numb after 30 minutes of running. Will return if able. Wanted to like them but my feet just say no. Would recommend a different style of Hoka if you have narrow to medium width feet. It does have nice cushioning around the collar where it cushions your ankle though. I eventually went with the Rocket X for my upcoming marathon As it is much narrower- more like my old Nike Pegasus 38.

I bought these because my Hoka One One Bondi, which I bought to help with plantar fasciitis, was worn out. Compared to those the Clifton 8 has very little cushion throughout the sole, esp at the heel and arch. Don't buy these for comfort, but do buy them if you want super light trainers.

A nice wide toe box but I didn't feel enough cushioning on the ball of my foot.

It’s frustrating when a manufacturer “updates” a shoe that you really like. The older Clifton designs felt much more like “running on a cloud” and the shoe itself felt much more enveloping and stable. :( Sent these back to Zappos and hope another Hoka One One model works better.

I had high hopes for the Hoka Clifton 8. I have a “normal” arch and would get pain in my arches every time I tried running on the treadmill. The first time I thought maybe I had to loosen the laces a bit of just need to break them in. I gave it a second go but the pain in my arches just wouldn’t go away. I am not writing off Hoka because I can tell the shoe is of high quality and I love their colors. The Clifton 8 just wasn’t the right fit. I will search for another Hoka shoe.

I have normal arches and the Clifton 8 were just not a good fit for me. I ran/jogged 5 miles on two separate occasions and my arches were killing me. Since I do have normal arches and prefer neutral support it’s not hard to get in the run rhythm when I get new shoes but I just couldn’t find a comfortable step in the Clifton 8. I’m not writing off Hoka but sad to say Clifton 8 weren’t the right fit.

I love how comfortable these are, I can walk all day in them. I just really don't understand why the color options are different when you buy them in wide width. None of the colors for wide are attractive in my opinion, so I just went with black.

I purchased these last summer to replace my Rincons, which were showing significant wear in the sole after only about 100 miles of running. These are excellent road shoes for comfort, but I'm having trouble with the Achilles Pull Tab. It is designed for ease of entry into the shoe, but also serves as a great ski slope for dirt and gravel. I'm looking for another model now. Maybe the Rincon 3.
