I totally missed the return window for these as I didn't use them for a real hike until over a month after buying. I did a hard 16 mile hike in these and was in unbearable pain from the rigid inner ankle portion rubbing against both ankles. Ouch ! I could not wait to get these off. They felt great for the first couple miles but these are not made well at all for comfort.

I am a long time repeat sneaker customer and really wanted to try the hard king boot. Unfortunately, the hiking boots didn't work for me.

I was bummed that these shoes were not comfortable, more narrow than typical Hoka , OK support, however not the typical comfort that I usually expect from Hoka, so I returned them, unfortunately

Returned these. I already have Hoka high top and bought these because they say "mid". I wrongly assumed that meant the ankle height. They are exactly the same as the high top boots. The hunt for a good mid height so continues.

Since HOKA hiking boots aren't available locally (and I have been wearing Challengers for several years, which I can buy locally), I ordered online. These boots (Anacapa) have an insert at the back that rubbed my ankles and was pretty uncomfortable. I hiked 7 miles on Friday and hate to think what I'd feel with longer hikes. Also the toe box is smaller than my previous boots so I can't wear thicker socks.

These shoes run very small and narrow. With a thicker socks my feet started to feel numb. They look nice but the fit just seems off. If you have high instep these might actually hurt to wear. Again very very narrow shoes. They also seem very rigid, maybe they eventually break in, but I returned them before I could break them in.

The left shoe was great. The right one was sewn badly right over the hook/eyelet where the laces go. It cause such pain that while out walking my dogs I had to stop, unlace the ankle to the point where it was more like a tennis shoe. If you try these on snd feel like something is pressing into your ankle bone, I'd advise to not go out for a long walk.

I received the boot with an islet missing. Understandable as these things happen. I was more than unhappy with the return process. I'd ordered the boots well ahead of time for a hike. When I called to exchange them, all I was told was that when they received my return, I'd get a replacement. No sorry for your inconvenience (taking them to USPS at the Christmas season). No discount offered when it was their issue.

I love the boot; the black color and the soles are much sturdier than the last pair I had, but they run 1/2 size small, and the lacing tabs though a lot easier than my last pair to lace broke after just 10 miles! on chat w/CS now so we'll see how this goes!

Strange fit. Very narrow with no room in the toe box. Left boot cuts into the ankle bone terribly. There wasn't a way to adjust it so it didn't do that. Others seem to have mentioned this as well. Felt like my feet were being squished into an unnatural position. I have to return them.

I just wore the boots around my house, but the inside of the hardware on the left boot dug so much into my anklebone that it left a mark. This seems to be a problem that other people have had. The right boot is okay, so I'm exchanging for another pair hoping that they are better. I also would love a wide option on the hiking boots--the toe box feels a bit narrow. This is my first pair of Hoka's, so I hope that the new pair works out. Excellent customer service when I called for help.

I can feel the eyelet hooks and interior seams around the top ankle even with the thickest socks.
Great style

I ordered half size larger and these were still too small. There is a strap under the tongue that made it impossible for me to get my foot in the shoe. Anyone with a high arch would have a problem.

One of the boots had a sharp bump that pressed into my ankle bone. The other shoe was great but they were unusable due to the location of the weird bump.
I returned these for my favorite bondi 7s.
I still need a waterproof boot for the winter but this wasn't it.

These are the cushiony comfort that you'd expect from Hokas. No breaking in needed, and it felt like I was walking on a pillow of clouds. I live in the Eastern Sierra and do a lot of hiking and backpacking, which is what I purchased this for. After just 100 miles of use on these shoes, they're already wearing out (as much as my Vasques did after about 300 miles). There's a tear starting on the top toe-side, the bottom of the shoe is starting to separate on both shoes, and a small part of the bottom treading of one of the shoes is already peeling off. FYI - Hoka has a weak 1-year warranty, where you have to pay for return shipping and it's a 50/50 chance you'll get accepted for the warranty claim. They apparently just go through a checklist of things to see if your warranty is valid or not.

Like many people have said, the seams of the boot can be felt through the thin internal lining and irritate my feet. I have attempted to fix this by adding a layer of leather inside the lining which may end up working if I can glue it in place.

These hiking boots are definitely not made for long hikes or backpacking. Not very supportive, feel very thin and flimsy. They're good for walking around the neighborhood with the dogs as the soles are pretty soft, but that's about it. Also, you have to find a precise way to tie them or the plastic rivets cut into your ankles. There are definitely better hiking boots out there at a lower price point.

I was disappointed with these Hoka Hiking boots. They really just were the shoes with a built up add on piece around the ankle, which provided very little support. The fitting was too narrow for me, so I sent them back. I was really disappointed as I'm a huge Hoka fan.

I am returning these. They are not nearly as comfortable as the Kaha and I will be waiting for more styles to come out. They did not have the comfort like the Kaha.

I loved the Challenger hiking boot and when I had finally worn it out- I find it's not available anymore. So I tried this one. I need wide- I don't think they offer a hiking boot in wide currently? It is quite long and narrow. Walking around the house some- they seemed like they might work. One day of hiking and my feet were not happy. I hope they will offer more wide options for hiking. I had to find another company for a hiking boot. I'm q fan of Hoka and hope they either bring back the Challenger or add wider sizes to their hiking boots. Wide feet people hike too!
