I've never had wool slippers show wear like these before. I would usually wear out the big toe area seam after about three - four years with the former brand that I used to purchase, but they never showed wear otherwise. (I think I'll be switching back to them.) I had to order these three times because the first order of size 8 was huge, the second order was too small, and finally the third order was ok in length, but really wide. I kept the third order just because it's a hassle re-ordering, returning, etc. I do have to say that the customer service was excellent!
See the photo for the wear that I experienced after only a couple of months. Also, they pill up heavily and I had to keep using my sweater shaver on them. There's something about the thickness and breathability of these that's bad as well. My feet smelled after wearing them and my feet have never smelled before. They just didn't breathe at all in these slippers.
Overall, I'm very disappointed in this purchase. I've always had good experiences with L. L. Bean products and love the company so these slippers were very disappointing to say the least.

Like other reviewers have shared, I purchased these clogs and they quickly wore out. The wool was removed from the heel. The ribbon split from the rest of the shoe. I submitted them to LLBean for a replacement but they deemed this normal wear and tear and would not replace. I only intermittently used these clogs, so I am incredibly disappointed LLBean no longer stands behind their products. Buyer beware!

I have bought this product twice. The first time I thought the interior degradation was a fluke. However, the second pair is just as bad. After 6 months the interior part of the heel is all white with the lining worn away. These are pricey and they should last in good condition more than 6 months. I want the style, but better quality!

I was frustrated with the purchase process and with the fit of these slippers. Besides taking a while to ship, the clogs, when received, were much smaller than expected. I had ordered a size up to make sure that they would be comfortable and roomy. Other reviews and descriptions had said they ran either true to size or even large for their size. Unfortunately, this did not at all hold true for me, and the slippers were too small in the toes, and the band on the top was restrictive and painful after wearing them for just a few minutes. I thought I had given enough leeway in the size to avoid this, but I was forced to return them and pay the return shipping fees. Disappointing as I was hoping to have a quality slipper that could be worn and enjoyed for many years, and having to pay a $6.50 return fee for a product that did not fit as advertised stings as well.

I'm a 7.5, and I ordered a size 8. The length was right but they were much too wide, like boats on my feet. Very disappointing. And I had to pay to return them. This has happened to me before with shoes from L.L. Bean, so I'm not risking it anymore.

I bought these in April and have been wearing them a lot. The lining of the sole at the heel is already worn out, and I can see that there is white plastic underneath the wool lining. I don't like wearing these without socks anymore because I don't like feeling plastic beneath the sole of my foot. Expected these to last at least a year for the price.
If this is something that doesn't bother you, these are great slippers!

Not comfy the way they used to be...hard and stiff; painful to wear. The blue lining appears to be the problem.

This is well made and beautiful but too wide and runs 1/2 size large. I think it would be a great slipper IF it were sized correctly. I can't recommend it as it is.

I have purchased LL bean slippers for years, this is the 2nd return I'm making, it seems they're all too wide.

I have had a similar wool slipper clogs for years and only wanted to replace them because part of the sole finally wore through. I am totally disappointed with the new version. I normally wear size 8 1/2 and was advised to try the 9 first which was too big. I replaced it with size 8 which also was too wide. It slipped and was uncomfortable to wear. The material and soles are definitely inferior.

I purchased several pairs of these 13 months ago. All the pairs now have holes in the wool around the ankle and the insert has nearly worn through. I don't wear them that much and alternate between the pairs, so this type of wear seemed unusual. Unfortunately, I did not reach out within the now 12 month time frame, but sent pictures and an email within 13 months. I made the assumption that LL Bean would continue to stand by it's products, which has always been one of the corporate values that set it apart from others. I was wrong. I was told that I could mail them back, at my own expense, and a determination would be made about a refund, with no guarantees. No thanks. I returned all purchases less than one year old and will be finding a company with better quality products that will stand by them.

I ordered these 1/9/19, received them 1/14/19. So decent shipping time. Loved them right away, kept my feet nice and warm. After about a month I noticed that the back was wearing out, and it didn't take long after that to have the entire back end of the right shoe blow completely out. Not even 3 months of wear! Won't order again.

I had previously ordered the wool clogs, so I knew I needed to order down a half size (I wear an 8 1/2) rather than going up to a 9. When the 8's arrived they were clearly smaller than the previously ordered 8's. When I called Customer Service, I was told there was no information indicating that I should have gone up a half size this time. Therefore, it was assumed the pair I received were mislabeled. I am awaiting another pair of 8's, so hopefully these will fit!

I had a pair of the Wicked Good Clogs that I wore, and loved, for years. They finally wore out so I thought I would try these. They are way too wide and my foot slides all over the place. I keep tripping over the toe. I absolutely hate them.
I wear a 9 to 9.5 shoe, ordered the 9 clog, and they are still too wide.

I am so disappointed in these slippers. I purchased them at the store less than a year ago.(Nov.2017) I only wore them inside my house, never outside. By February, the inside started to wear out and the outside wool began to pill. By March the top rim on both slippers was tearing and pilling. Poor, poor quality. The soles do look almost like new though.

Love clogs of any kind and they're spendy to buy....so, I expect them to hold up for a couple of years.
That being said...the outer wool and cork have held up, however the inner layer has worn down to nothing. I would have added a picture but it's not ia option when reviewing.
I'll be looking elsewhere for a new pair unfortunately.

I have had these slippers a few weeks and the back is already worn through the wool. I do wear them everyday, in the house only, and with orthopedic inserts. I did order a size up to accommodate the inserts. A lot of money for poor quality.

I had purchased a pair of clogs about 3-4 years ago. Thought these would be like that, theses are not! The wool is pilling and the lining in the shoes are too big. The bottom is too straight.

I am normally a size 9, medium.
The last few pairs I've tried ordering from LLB were huge, so this time I ordered a size 8 and a size 7. They were completely too big in every possible way. Just to give you some idea, I could fit my whole HAND (palm up) inside the top of the shoe, with the shoe on my foot. Even with socks, even with extra insoles.
About 7 years ago I got some clogs from LLB that were a similar style, with fleece lining and wool outside. Back then, the cost was about $49 or $59 each. I got two pairs. I love them, so comfortable! They do not look beat up at all and I still get compliments on them. (Yes, they are SEVEN years old, worn very, very frequently, with or without socks.) There isn't a rubber sole on them, like the new model has. It is some kind of ecological composite saw dust stuff, which was in the ad, was promoted as pro-environment material. The soles show absolutely no wear. The wool pills a little, but I given them a quick once-over with my pill removal tool, and viola, good as new!
I will wear the old clogs forever. Obviously LLB quality has deteriorated during the past 7 years. These ancient clogs will definitely outlast me! Sent the "new improved version" BACK!
