Better then I thought

Great quality bag. My only complaints are that I wish the cupholder pocket was larger, the second smallest pocket as large as the last generation's pocket, and that the big pocket's zippers were slightly stronger and smoother. Apart from those very minor complaints, it's a long-lasting, high quality bag. Definitely would recommend.

I use this as my school backpack. It holds all my books and has a padded pouch for my laptop. Color is awesome!

Great pack for day hikes and traveling. Lots of room and very durable construction. The updates from my previous Borealis pack are on point... larger zipper pulls, solid material on the side water bottle holders, instead of mesh, and a larger front/top felt lined pouch.

I did my due research before purchasing the Borealis, comparing the Borealis with Osprey, Gregory, 5.11, and Mystery Ranch products. This one had the features I was after: bungee for shell storage on the outside of the back, water bottle holders, organizer, laptop pouch, and plenty of storage space. It also doesn't look "tactical," which is what I wanted for this pack.

I use this bag for work! I work in a hospital and work long hours so I wanted something that would hold up for a good while. I bought it on sale so it was an amazing deal and I couldn't be happier with all the pockets/compartment space.

I would personally recommend any of a product that Northface carries. When you are purchasing, make sure that you are aware that there is a difference between the men's and the women's and please check for defects. Mine had one, but they were amazing and refunded immediately.

Overall, it's a great backpack. I wish the front pockets were taller or the access was easier to fit stuff in the bottom of the main compartment, which seems to have a lot of room when expanded. Otherwise, the bungee cords hold some accessories, the compression straps are nice for jackets, and I love the back padding. The zippers also seem sturdy so hoping this will last for a long time.

Great backpack, very versatile for school and those weekend adventures. My favorite feature is it ability to expand or keep it compact when your load doesn't require carrying all your books
