Great bag. Very durable. The webbing is very useful. Just the right size for a daily gym bag or go-bag for the day. I really like the print. The rugged material allows the bag to hold its form even when not completely full and it also protects the contents.
One down side is that when larger objects are placed in the inner top flap pocket, it makes the top flap a little cumbersome because it will not bend or flex. This is not a big deal but because the material is so stiff, it does sometime make the top flap a bit in flexible and in the way.
Overall this is a great bag and I highly recommend it.

Echoing others, this would be literally perfect if it had a regular duffel strap like the Medium size version, and a waist strap for the backpack mode to distribute weight better.

Great bag; traded for voyager 42L, though.
It would be ideal if NF went the extra mile and waterproofed, and made optional bag internal support (inside divider of voyager adjusts, so sides removable bars in corner). Making one packet for shoes could be ideal, though it may already hold them (haven't checked). Otherwise nice structure (with style).

I love this bag (stylish, great material, big enough for a weekender), however I won't be keeping it because there's no straps or handle to carry it! There's only two backpack straps, which you would convert one as a large strap to carry. As someone who also travels with a backpack for smaller stuff/laptop it doesn't make sense to have two backpacks. I'm very disappointed this doesn't have handles or straps and I will be returning.

The bag is very rugged and well made. It's a simple design that is very practical. The only flaw is the zipper design. Specifically, it's the pull tab that needs a small design. When pulling to open, it works great. Not so much when closing. This is because the pull tab doesn't have enough of a gap to clear the huge "crown" created in front of the slider body because of the pad lock holes. This creates a fulcrum and the pull tab does not go past 45 degrees or so instead of parallel to the zipper, which causes the zipper to make an S as you open and it doesn't work as efficiently. Makes it finicky to open, but is fine once you figure it out and open it carefully.

The bag itself is still quite stiff since it's brand new, but I love how versatile it is and I'm stoked to use it for my outdoor adventures.

Great bag. Built well. The only problem is theirs no shoulder strap for everyday carry.

Own it and travel with it. Perfect size, tough, convenient and useable handles all over, back pack straps are convenient and comfortable. The only deduct is the zippers are difficult to manage and not fluidtakes two hands a bit of force to close.

I like the overall design of this bag. However, it is primarily designed to be carried as a backpack. It is pretty difficult to carry with one shoulder and not to mention to carry it by hand, as there is no handle on the top of the bag. Perhaps a more versatile strap design would solve the issue.

Great bag made with quality materials. Lack of design shows for sure in that there's not many interior pockets for organization and the flap above the zipper restricts it from zipping nice and smooth. However love the backpack straps

Bought it for my 13 year old daughter as a carry-on bag. She was able to pack a full week's worth of clothes and toiletries. I was comparing this bag to my backpack carry on made by a competitor and another popular competitor bag. NorthFace was the lightest for the size. I love the "storage" bag that can double as a packing "cube". Cons: it should have an over-the-shoulder removable strap to carry it on one shoulder. And definitely needs a (female-friendly) chest clip.

Great bag. I use it for travel on short trips and when my team travels. I like the bag so much, I got them for everyone in our family.

I love the base camp duffel in small for its size but I wish it had the same features that the medium does. I don't know why a bag that's a few inches smaller wouldn't have the same netting as an inside pocket or longer straps to carry it by hand. That being said, I still prefer this over the medium. Straight forward to use, looks good and feels like it'll last a life time. I ended up removing the backpack straps and just making a custom shoulder strap.

I ordered this bag for my 2-week honeymoon in Costa Rica and it was perfect. Was durable through checking and really easy to pack and carry around from all our destinations and held up great!

I love the size & color of this bag! I got the yellow one. My big complaint though are the straps are too short to carry the bag as a shoulder bag or cross body. I had to carry on the shoulder but still hold it with my hands because the bag kept slipping off my shoulders. I haven't tried it as a back pack but I doubt I will because I have a Jester that I use a personal item. This bag is my carry on

I bought this duffel for dual use, for carrying my gear to and from the pool and for weekend camping trips. I'm a wheelchair user and it fits perfectly on the back of my chair. This bag feels like it will last forever and is a great size. I would have given it five stars but the zippers are extremely stiff.

This would have been close to perfect if they had added the dedicated handles (as seen on the Large version). As it is, you can ONLY carry it as a backpack (using the shoulder straps).

I purchased this bag as a replacement for a similar one from years ago, due to warranty issues with the plastic lining peeling off. This was the closest size I could get without going too much over cost of original bag. The hard plastic is weird and not the easiest to zip around when packed full. I also see that after one use, there's some stretching along the seams. I do like the included straps for backpack usage, just wish it was a more flexible coated fabric to shove under an airplane seat like my previous bag.

Don't like that it doesn't have handles to carry and using as a backpack is awkward .

Great bag, but the original versions that I have in other sizes has the handles so you can carry it at your side.

Still a great product, but don't know why they ever did away with the hand loops that allowed you to carry the bag like a normal duffel bag.

Using it a gym bag. Shoulder straps not the most comfortable, but distributes the weight a bit more evenly. Bag is a bit stiff and issues with the zipper when opening and closing.
