It works well; it just has some minor blemishes on the material that expose some parts of the backpack.

I really like the comfort of the backpack. I don't love the pocket placement and size. The small front one doesn't go to the bottom of the bag. As this is where I place all my knickknacks, I would have liked it a little deeper. I also feel the front stretch pocket could get loose after a while.

Durable, classy, size efficient. Always looks good.

This is the second Recon backpack I've owned. The first, which I've had for 10+ years, is still going strong but has been taken over by my teenage son. It's perfect for everyday use and travel. All the right zippers and compartments in all the right locations.

There are many different storage packets and the back has extra cushion for support. It also can hold a 17 inch backpack.

I use this as my school backpack for University and I am impressed with the capability of this backpack! It is very durable and has very useful compartments for school. The waterproof bottom area is especially useful considering that I am going to school in a very rainy/snowy area! Great backpack overall!

Sad to return this bag-- Nice style, good sensible placement/size pockets for organization, and especially liked the easy access to the nicely padded laptop compartment. But the straps are so stiff, with an odd curvature. They are contoured to fit a specific body type. maybe a built man with thick shoulders and upperbody? Was not comfortable for a medium built, 14 year old teen boy, 135 lbs., about 5'7. Otherwise a nice bag!

Seems sturdy but don't know yet. Looks great and many pockets. Taller than other packs. My sone is using it for school and likes it.

Great bag to bring all your stuff you need for either work, school or vacation. So many pockets

backpack straps too close for a men's. i'm 6'2 1/2 and in my opinion the borealis men's fits me better. Recon is still comfortable just lacks in the department. kind of unfortunate considering the backpack costs more but is different in sizing. If you're on the smaller end i would say recon is better not to say that the recon isn't good for big guys either but if you like to hike or wear it A LOT then the borealis may be better. The colour on the grey and black is also very light. in direct sunlight it almost looked like a light blue. Take from my mistake and find the better bag for you.

Overall material is thinner than previous version of Recon. Quality control is lacking too. But good enough and looks cool for everyday use. Won't be using it for hiking though.

I purchased my northface recon backpack for school and day to day use and I love it. There has been no issues and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy one. I love the space it has and it can fit all my school stuff and room for more. Would definitely buy again!
