Great backpack for high school! Love that this has a separate laptop sleeve and many areas to store things.

great bag to send my son to college with. lots of room and pockets without being overwhelming. when we moved into the suite 3 of the 4 boys had the same Recon in Black! great minds!

Good sturdy backpack! The backing of the laptop sleeve does wonders for keeping my electronics safe, and it doubles as keeping good back support for when I carry my bag. I will say that the pocket in front of the laptop sleeve could be a bit bigger. I have a lot of books to carry as a college student, so a little more room would be nice. The smaller pockets work fine and I can fit a lot of things in the front. And the mesh pocket in the front is a super quick and easy thing to use whenever I need to quickly store something temporarily without having to use a zipper. The water bottle holders are a good size, and I can carry bottles in them without having to worry about them falling out.

I purchased the Recon backpack for my son as a high school freshman. This bag is legit! Beautifully constructed. Thoughtfully detailed, this backpack carries it all (perhaps too much as this sucker can get heavy)! Even his largest refillable water bottle fits in the outer side pocket (when the bag is stuffed full). My son absolutely loves it. Style meets obvious functionality.

The water bottle pouch is so much better than the last North Face I had.

I like the backpack but the front most compartment when it has a normal amount of stuff in it will squish down and make it harder to get things in and out of the big pouch and it opens up at the bottom which makes it awkward a little sometimes

This backpack has held up well being used on a college campus. It has just the right amount of space and compartments.

I bought this for both of my sons and they love it! They are in high school and have had no issues with these backpacks. It holds all of their things and is easy on their backs.

Great color combination, will be used for college books/laptop and while skiing for water/food/supplies. Perfect size and streamlined shape to hold a lot but not be bulky.

I use the product for my college classes. I like that it has a variety of compartments and helps me to stay organized with my many classes as a nursing student. I'm confident this backpack will last me years like my last one did!

Bought this for my Senior in H.S. He loves how practical it is bc he can fit his laptop and books.

I love this backpack but unfortunaelty it is already starting to break down and I have only been using it for 4 weeks. I purchased the backpack in July and started using it at the end of July when I started school. It fits everything and the pockets are great. However, today I noticed that the stitching on the straps was completly undone on one side. I carry the packback to and from the car to school but besides that, it sits in one place all day. There is absolutely no reason the stitching should be completely undone after 4 weeks of use. I looked at the other strap and the stitching on that side is starting to come apart but not nearly as bad as the other side. I am very disappointed because I have used North Face backpacks for years and never had this problem. Not sure if mine is a dud or not but the quality is not where it used to be. I want to send it for repair or warranty but the process is so inconvenient. It would involve mailing the backpack back for them to repair which the website says could take 4-6 weeks. So I would not have a backpack to use to for school for that time.

Love the durable material. The amount of space it's to love for and it's not bulky so it's the perfect backpack. My daughter just started college and she is in love .

Great quality as usual from The North Face. Size was a bit smaller than expected with main compartment not as spacious as I hoped for. Also the number of straps is overwhelming for normal use. Half of them could likely be eliminated without affecting the core functionality of the backpack.

I use this for class, and I couldn't be happier. It feels so spacious yet disperses the weight really well so it is never too heavy

Looks great on my high schooler. Narrow and long. Holds a lot of things but a little snug if you are putting gym clothes with shoes.

Good design, but not enough interior space for school use.
