The jacket came with some loose threads along the bottom seam on the inside and you can see the dark down feathers through the red fabric at every seam making the jacket look cheap. It is pretty light weight and my 6 year old says it keeps her pretty warm otherwise.

It is not very thick and/or warm. I do not think the quality of the jacket is worth the price. If you are looking for a winter jacket that will keep your child warm during the winters months, I do not think this is the right fit.

I like this coat but the outside material is so thin that a 6 year old can easily puncture it. If you are going to make a winter coat for a child, consider what the child will do in that coat and pick materials accordingly.

I truly don't understand what the purpose of the plastic triangle on the back is? It looks SO odd and out of place on every jacket. It's like you want to tag your brand yet you made it seem so out of place. The LL Bean name is already on the front of the coats & fleeces - so why do you need it on the back? Not even on the bottom it's like floating high up on the fleeces. I wish you did not choose to stamp and unnecessary piece of plastic on a coat that you already can tell is from LL Bean. Please remove this for future!

My daughter bought this jacket for my grandson last year. We like that it is warm, yet light enough to be not to be constricting. We live in a moderate climate so it isn't worn every day during the winter. The jacket shed alot of feathers through the fabric and seams during the first year and being LLBean that surprised me. He was able to wear it into this season, but managed to catch it on something recently which left a small tear in the fabric. My attempts to repair it were very frustrating as the fabric is very fragile and the needle caught on feathers throughout the process. The concept of the light down coat is wonderful, but the fabric quality needs to be improved.

This jacket is warm and lightweight. However, after two months of use from my 5 year old, it is ripped in numerous places and feathers are coming out. I called customer service who recommended I super glue the holes. Very disappointed in both the quality and lack of customer service to help remedy the situation.

My daughter loves this down jacket and finds it cozy and comfortable. Unfortunately the "ultralight" shell material is somewhat delicate and a small tear in the upper arm (not along a seam) appeared and started leaking feathers within a week of purchase. LLBean customer service nicely offered us a new jacket.

My daughter has a similar version of this jacket from 3 years ago - she absolutely loves it! Thought it would be too small so wanted to replace it. Choosing a color was difficult, think it's unisex so went with teal which was pretty dull and not 'fun' but ok, Then I showed my daughter and she didn't like it, she wasn't thrilled with color but her real issue was the zipper pull?!:). She didn't think it was as cool. Luckily I think she's going to get another year out of her purple one with the cool zipper pull!

I agree with the reviewer who said that this year's jackets are less warm that previous years' jackets. I'd bought this jacket last year for my daugthers, and loved it. I was looking for a new jacket for them this year, but given the limited color choices in this style, I was considering buying a different brand. However, ultimately I went with this jacket because of how happy we were with the one we bought last year. And so when I received the jackets, I was SO disappointed. This year's jackets are much thinner than last year's. Even though it says it's 650-fill down, it seems like the fill weight is much less than last year (i.e., less down used overall). Perhaps the fill ratio (down to feathers) is also less. I'm so disappointed, and will be returning these jackets. I wish LL Bean didn't cut corners with this very popular style.

I bought this jacket and had to return 2 separate times since December. First one the zipper melted in the wash and dryer after once wash and the second time it got 2 huge tears in the front . Not built for kids be kids in. Not sure if something changed or not but we had this jacket last year as well with no issues!

I wanted to love these jackets. They are perfect from fall to spring as they are super lightweight but also very warm. Really nice color options too. However, they rip SO easily and are just not rugged enough for kids to play in. These were bought as Christmas presents and didn't make it through the winter. Returned one only for the new one to get a tear in it 2 days into wearing it. Even had to return the mens version too due to a tear after a few weeks of wear. Everything is great about these jackets EXCEPT for the durability of the outer shell. Really disappointing because we had high hopes for these.

This jacket was purchased not even a month ago and it has feathers poking through the fabric. The fabric at the bottom of the zipper has already come apart from where it was sewn.

The coat is very thin. The feather filling is minimal as well. I was very disappointed but thought if he wore a hooded sweatshirt under it he would be okay. The first day he wore it the arm ripped on the sleeve. We were only making a snowman. For the money it is definitely not worth it.

We have had this for a month. I washed as directed and the feathers are coming out! He is seven years old and wears to school, so I need to wash it for cleanliness/germs/ etc he says the coat is warm and it fits nicely, but I cannot believe the poor quality. I had to wash again after he spilled on it and the feathers are now bunching. We have other down jackets (not Llbean) that I have washed and are not doing this. Definitely not worth the $150

This was a Christmas gift for my 4 year old grandson. I noticed wear and "tear" on his coat from playing on the playground, after only a few months. His 2 year old sister, with a similar jacket, has a hole near the hood drawstring. Disappointing. I hoped these coats would last longer than this. Difficult to return as it would leave them without winter wear.

For my 4 year old this fit perfect, was great for any of the ever changing VT weather, kept him warm and looked cute to boot. But here we are 4 months later and it's got a hole which has lost much of the puff on part of the jacket and tiny little holes throughout, making me wonder how much longer it's going to last. Kind of disappointing being last years jacket went two winters with no holes at all which was a similar 3T version.

Despite the description, there is no way this jacket is reversible unless you like the look of a jacket that is clearly inside out. The tags and loop hook are all exposed as is stitching etc. Very disappointed

I read the many reviews saying that the jacket tore after a few wears, but I bought it anyway because my 10 year old son is usually very easy on his clothes. Well, we were no exception. The jacket tore in several places after a couple of weeks with down feathers flying everywhere. Fortunately, LL bean stands behind their products so I am sure returning it will not be an issue. We are going to try the other down jacket with the fleece on the inside. It looks a little warmer as well.

I purchased two of these for my children ages 4 & 6. I really loved last seasons version so I got them again. Unfortunately, this seasons seems to be much cheaper quality as they jackets got torn once at the beginning of winter and now one of them has been torn AGAIN! I buy generally LLBean because of the quality.....

We have owned this coat in seasons past. I ordered a new coats for this year and the amount of fill was significantly less. The jackets was so thin! I'm also puzzled by the price. I paid the online price of $170.00 but the tag on the jackets was $150.00. I returned the two I ordered and now I'm on the hunt for a replacement. I hope LL Bean will bring back the quality coats from years past.

I bought two of these jackets - on for each kid. One kid comes home muddy everyday so I've washed his jacket about 3 times. There is no down left. I don't know where it went. It's like a thin shell.

Purchased two of these costs for both my kids. For $150 this products quality is horrible. There is barely any down fill. After just one wash, the down seems to have disintegrated leaving a thin shell of a jacket. I have tried fluffing it with dryer ball, but nothing works. Don't waste your money.

I bought 2 of these jackets in November for my 2 grandkids. The zipper broke on 1 of them after 1 month and the 2nd coat zipper broke after 2 months. The teeth broke so we had to pull it off over their heads. The zipper pull also fell off on one of them. For $150, I expected much higher quality. Returned them. Nice jacket but needs a higher quality zipper. My kiddos are 8 and 5 years old.
