We would love this excellent jacket with a hoodless option to use under ski shell jacket.

We love this jacket it keeps our littles warm in the winter months and it dries fast and is easy for them to carry. However, my only issue is that what arrived looks different than the color presented on the website. I would highly recommend for LL Bean to look at color accuracy between online image and actual product. This is easy to do using X-rite services.

Very soft, very comfy and well made. For warmth in fhe Northeastern US, I would say it's more of an early to mid fall jacket. And you could layer a fleece or sweatshirt underneath for more warmth. But it's not for a 40F day, for example, at least by my 5 year old's standards. He really likes it for milder fall days - it's like a soft blankey!

I wish we could've kept this jacket, but it ended up being too small my son. He's a very tall 12-year-old, so thought the youth XL would fit. We ended up returning and exchanging for the men's version of this jacket. Otherwise it is a great coat!

The jacket is warm, light and comfortable. Kids love it. My only complaint is that the outer material can tear more easily than a jacket for kids should. But we buy it every year because the kids love it,

Great jacket for my son! It keeps him perfectly warm on cold days and fits him very well.
A lot of feathers starting to pop out already, that is the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars.

Great coat, super warm. The color selection is a little boring for small children.

My son likes this jacket a lot. It is surprising how LIGHTWEIGHT it is but it keeps him SO WARM and also dry! We originally ordered a large, but it seemed small on him, so we exchanged it for an XL. I recommend the jacket, but order a size up. Also, the color was listed as "vibrant red" but is more like an orangey-red.

Jacket is good quality and nicely made. However, I ordered a size 10-12 for my grandson who is slim and average size, almost age 9, and jacket will just fit him through this winter. Would have returned it for a larger size but he wanted to wear it to school immediately and loved the blue color

Lightweight. I sized up quite a bit and happy I did. Colors are less bright than on screen

Great winter jacket for our grandson. Sleeves run a little long but I think this will do him next year too. Love the color (and he does also).

Perfect for spring time in the Sierra foothills. For those early morning and late afternoon walks when there is still a chill to the air. Good for layering otherwise. Not suitable for severe colds.

This jacket for my little grandson fits well and is lightweight and warm. I also purchased same jackets for my three grand daughters in the older kids line. There were problems with the older kids' jackets getting holes in them with feathers coming out. Will need a replacement for these jackets. Will need to return to store.

I bought this jacket in the large and x-large for my 11 year old daughter. She's about 5'1 and 90 lbs. The sleeves in the large were too short, and while the x-large fit in the sleeves, we ended up returning it because of the super boxy fit. It is definitely not cut for what I would consider an athletic type build, and would look even worse on a more slender child. There was enough room sticking out the sides and back for another kid to fit inside. I loved the color and 650 down- it looked like it would be very warm, it just wasn't a fit for us.

Would not recommend if you have an active 5 year old like me. I bought this in October and by February the coat had at least 4 rips with feathers coming out. I brought it back to an LL Bean store and they reluctantly took it back citing that it had been used excessively and that there was no actual defect. I argued that it was used as normally by an outdoorsy and active 5 year old. They took it back and replaced it with another jacket that seems a little more robust which I was grateful for.

I have 3 boys and have been buying this jacket for them for some time now. (I pass down and buy another one for my oldest for winter play and then a lined one for skiing.) But now I have to buy my middle boy, as well as last year, another new winter coat which then leads me to having to buy another one of these for my youngest next year! Although these coats are their favorite of all time (lightweight, warm but not too warm, not bulky and easy to pack) the outside material just doesn't hold up for an active child like my middle one. They get caught on anything the slightest bit rough and rip. Even one little hole leads to feather loss and definitely don't wash this coat if there is even a tiny hole-wet feathers all over the washing machine! We love this coat but really disappointed with the material quality for this price point :(

Overall nice looking jacket my son liked it.However the plastic zipper failed quickly. Disappointing for a kids jacket at 150 $ .

This coat was my kids favorite until it ripped with very little wear (~2 months old). For a jacket for a 6yo I'd have expected it to be much more durable. The store indicated they were unable to repair or replace the product

I own what I think is the adult version of this jacket (the 850 down version) and that has much more puff to it and it's about 220. This is 150 and probably has half the puff and it's 650 down which isn't as warm.
We have a 50 dollar a coop brand jacket for kids that is puffier than this and also has 650 down. I was also surprised to notice that the material was similar to the adult jacket for the kids version and I would think that kids put a lot more wear and tear on a coat when playing than adults. Overall, I think this is more a fashion/lifestyle product for adults shrunk down for kids than a kids coat.
I had hoped to use it as a layer under a shell or an outer layer for our daughter and I think it would have worked, but there are warmer coats for less money that are perhaps just a bit bulkier. This is a fashion product that's overpriced and too delicate for kids in my opinion. It's a solid choice, but we found a 550 coat from another brand named after the north side of Mount Everest that seemed to have more down for about the same price with a tougher outershell. That to me was a kid's jacket; this isn't.
